Mentor Public Schools The Cornerstone of the Community Memorial Minutes Once a Cardinal, Always a Cardinal! The mission of the Memorial Middle School community is to effectively challenge and motivate all learners by creating an environment that engages students in academic work that results in a high level of achievement. We are confident that with our support and help, students can master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents to achieve this shared educational purpose as our students prepare to be part of a dynamic global society. Memorial Families: We are proud of our students who collected almost 500 items for Coats for Kids, in addition, the Memorial staff and students made a $2,775 donation to The United Way prior to Thanksgiving break. Memorial also collected nearly 1,000 canned goods. The students demonstrated their desire and willingness to help community members in need. Memorial will continue its community outreach efforts through additional collection programs and projects during the course of the school year. Memorial s next effort to give back will be in the form of a Holiday Raffle for students, and a separate raffle for staff members. During lunch periods, on December 12th through December 19th, students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for various raffle baskets. The winners will be announced at the end of the day on December 21st. All monies raised will assist in sponsoring families for the holidays. Our band and choir members showcased their talents at concerts over the last several weeks. The students put on spectacular performances under the guidance of Ms. Driscoll, Mr. Kulma, Mr. Meisel, Mr. McMurtrie and Mr. Yoke. I continue to be impressed with the music programs at Memorial.
