Laser Coaches Sarah Ogilvie VLA/AUS coach laser radial worlds - Japan; Minnow, Sabot and Laser coaching under: 'Sarah the Sailor' junior, youth and school coaching; club coaching at SSCBC, Mount Martha, Blairgowrie and Mornington; Sarah Blanck Perpetual Trophy all female coaching regatta. Sailing background; Found sailing through neighbourhood friends and started as a junior at Blairgowrie age 10 enjoying summer and weekend sailing; progressing to the Sabre around the age of 15. Following the Sabre Sarah moved into the Laser age 17. She enjoyed competing in National and International competition. At the age of 21, Sarah moved into the Europe Dinghy to qualify for Olympic Games representation; qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Games. After these games a brief break and she then moved back into the Laser Radial and qualified to compete in the 2008 Olympic Games. Since 'retirement' I have enjoyed sailing locally on Port Phillip Bay in my laser which she first sailed as a 17yr old. She is now about to learn how to windsurf. highlights & Achievements. Olympic Games both Athens and Beijing, 4th place. Winning 3 World Championships (1 x youth and 2 x Open), multiple ISAF grade 1 podium finishes (now World Cup event), Multiple National Championship titles. Laser Coaches Mark Toner-Joyce (Wednesday Only) Mark has trained, raced and collaborated with some of the greatest Laser sailors in history. He knows how to race and how to win. Sailing the Laser, Mark was a member of the Victorian Institute of Sport and trained with the Australian Laser Squad 1996-1999. During his career in the Laser, Mark won 21 Laser Cubes at Victorian, Australian and International championships. He undertook two Olympic selection campaigns with European and other international tours, he qualified for and competed in six open world Laser championships during the 90 s. As a training partner, mentor and coach, Mark has made a formidable impact on hundreds and hundreds of Australian sailors, including some of Victoria s most elite; Sarah Blanck and Krystal Weir: World Champions & Olympians. Catamaran Coaches Greg Goodall Greg has been competing internationally since 1981, and holds 2 world titles (A-Class Catamarans) and 24 State & 8 National Titles on various classes including Moth, Tornado, Mosquito, Taipan, F18 and A-Class. He retired from International competition in 2012, and has since been concentrating on passing on his knowledge to others. He was involved in the coaching of the USA Tornado team in their lead up to the Sydney Olympics, and has been involved in various coaching clinics around the world. He owns and manages Goodall Design and has designed and built numerous Catamarans including A-Classes, F18 s, the Taipan & Viper Catamarans. Gordon Hyde Catamaran Coaches Gordon is a qualified Instructor and Coach that has been involved with catamaran sailing since his early teens. A former National and State Champion in a number of OTB and Catamaran Classes plus an experienced Skipper and Tactician on several Sydney to Hobart yachts. He has a keen interest in developing youth sailing and promoting the excitement of fast catamaran sailing.

Minnow Coach Paul Rogers Started coaching at Blairgowrie Yacht Club in 2005. Head Coach in the Victorian Minnow Association 2012 - present. Sailing Background - First boat was an old Minnow, sailed minnows for 4 years before moving onto Lasers. Followed the YV pathway program and then moved into 14ft Skiffs for a number of years. Highlights / Achievements - Successfully coaching 5 sailors into the top 10 at the Minnow Nationals over the past 4 Nationals. I am also proud to see the Minnow class holding strong as a sailing community filled with wonderful sailors and supportive parents.
