Minutes of last meeting - read and signed. No matters arising 2. Reviews of last season PRESIDENT- Jim thanked the committee, coaches and umpires for their work. It had been a disappointing season especially the Men s 3 rd team because of players needed by the 2nds at the last minute this made the situation difficult for the Capt. The 2 nd XI were relegated as a result of late cancellation of matches. He looks forward to a better season next year. Gave special thanks to Dave and Alan. CHAIRPERSON S REPORT 2010/11 Firstly, my apologies for not being at the meeting. It has been a difficult season both on and off the pitch. A general lack of commitment and communication from players has made life difficult and frustrating for all team captains this year. Poor results and some criticism of selection have followed, and subsequently less team spirit to see us through. There have been times when all of us on the committee have had that why do we bother feeling. Late call offs and refusal to travel are not acceptable, and affect the whole of the club. We have incurred fines and expenses as a result of unfulfilled fixtures. The ladies Sunday side can tell you from bitter experience that there is nothing worse than the opposition crying off at the 11 th hour. Without the dedication shown by the captains and the committee there would be no games and no club. It is up to all members to play their part, not just a dedicated few. On a positive note, we are working towards club accreditation, and the junior development continues. There have been meetings with, and input from, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership and England Hockey to look at ways to strengthen the club, make provision for repair or replacement of the pitch surface, and have more fixtures for juniors. Suffice to say that there has been a little progress on some of these issues, and the others are very much work in progress. Looking around at other clubs in the area, we all seem to be having similar issues. We have the advantage of a strong youth section, thanks to the dedication of our coaching
team, and therefore I am confident that we can rebuild and look forward to further success in the near future. Thank you for attending this evening, and showing your interest in your club. With support from you all, the 2011/12 season can be both successful and enjoyable, on and off the pitch. LADIES 1 ST XI Lyndsay reported it had been a tough season as more players than expected were lost. It was a struggle each week, especially at the end due to injuries. She thanked Gary, Alan and Chris for umpiring and Trevor for his help with coaching and traveling, also Sue and Sophie for their help. Stats played 22, won 1, drawn 2, lost 19. MEN S 1 st XI Finished 12 in the league, won 1, lost 21. squad was a mix of older players and some youngsters, 5 different goalkeepers were used for which the team was grateful. Thanks to Gary for all of his hard work. Looking forward to a better season next year. LADIES SUNDAY SIDE Quite a good season for the Sunday side in the Friendly League, it is a small league so Sue thanked Ros for her efforts securing other friendly matches. Thanks to all umpires, Chris and Vince are the regulars, also thanks to Trevor, Lyndsay, Spud, Gary and other helpers. Stats played 15, won 8, drawn 3 lost 4. MEN S 2 nd XI It was a fight to get players throughout. The season started well, playing teams new to the league. Reliable players kept the team going. Many different players were used, 15 different goal scorers. There were memorable good moments and we look forward to next season. Thanks to all who played and umpired and the small band of vocal and positive supporters. Stats played 22, won 4, drawn 2, lost 16 MEN S 3 rd XI There had been problems getting players on the pitch at first. Early opposition was against the top sides but things improved as the season progressed. Good young players were brought into the side, so well done to the coaches. Thanks were expressed to all those players who chopped and changed teams late on a Friday night. They finished 6 th out of 10 in the division. Playing was enjoyable but organizing was difficult. 4. TREASURER S REPORT Figures attached.
An dy expressed thanks to all who collected the money and Sue for her collections on Training evenings. Goalkeeping kit needs to be purchased. Cresta prices may rise in the future, cost of pitches is likely to be 600 more next season
Discussion followed about whether we pay for changing and showers sometimes they are not satisfactory. Should we be looking at buying 2 nd hand GK kit from Premier sides? Andy said there should be no need to increase costs for the coming season. Steve thanked Andy for the comprehensive figures clarifying the costs of playing and training. 5. Election of Officers

AOB. A meeting for those going to Worthing, held after the AMG. Many of the friendly matches held at the beginning of the season don t happen, it was suggested that maybe we could hold an inter club tournament, 6 a side, which
could also act as a recruiting/social event. Travel expenses ours are 15p a mile since petrol costs have increased should the allowance be raised. It was agreed that the comt should look at this at the next meeting. Junior coaching is quite cheap at the moment and it was suggested that a more realistic price could be charged. Andy proposed, James seconded, 40 for Juniors or 25 per term carried unanimously. Summer League the Taunton ladies competition is the same day as the Ottery competition and there was some doubt whether they would play in Taunton. A voucher is to be bought for Tom and family for the use of the barn on Fri. Thanks were extended to Ros for all her hard work during the year and to Steve for stepping in to the Chair tonight. Meeting closed 9.30p.m.
