COMPOSITION A rigid slab of expanded or extruded polystyrene containing a fire retardant additive. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES SKIN CONTACT: EYE CONTACT: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES The material is difficult to ignite and will cease to burn if the source of ignition is removed at an early stage of fire development. When burning the products of combustion are basically carbon monoxide and styrene; the styrene may be further decomposed, giving off oxides of carbon, water and soot (smoke). weber.therm EPS, EPR & XPS Jan 09 1

Suitable extinguishing material: water, C0 2 or dry powder 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal Precautions When working with or cutting this material dust may be created, a dust mask, gloves and suitable protective clothing are recommended. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling When working with or cutting material dust may be created - dust mask, gloves and suitable protective clothing are recommended. When handling, due regard should be paid to Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. A package containing this product may exceed the recommended weight stated in the current Manual Handling Regulations. The regulations should be consulted for guidance as to the appropriate lifting methods. Storage Material should be sited so that in the event of a fire, flowing or dripping material will not spread the fire to other combustible materials. Adequate space should be provided for access and the material should be stored in a fenced compound or building that can be secured. Store away from all sources of ignition and have fire extinguishers and or hose reels close at hand. If there is an outbreak of fire, the Fire Brigade should be called immediately and advised that polystyrene slabs are involved 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION Technical Protective Measures No special measures required Respiratory Protection Suitable respiratory protection should be worn to ensure that handlers are not subjected to dust from the material. Hand Protection Wear suitable gloves. Eye Protection Suitable goggles or face protection should be worn wherever there is a risk of product entering the eye.
