L.I.F.E. 2019 Art Contest Rules & Guidelines 1. Entry is open to elementary, middle, and high school students in Webb County. 2. Only 2 entries per student. 3. Entry Fees are: $30/entry 4. No plagiarized items (no cartoons, cd covers, copied/traced artwork, online replicas etc.) 5. Unacceptable entries: satanic or violent art, nudes and inappropriate clothing or lack thereof, items with profanity or lewd nature, gang symbols or themes) 6. Size limits: Artwork should not exceed 2 ft. Sculptures should not exceed 3 ft. 7. Awards: 1 st & 2 nd Trophy & Ribbon 3 rd place - Ribbons for each Division Best of Show Trophy Per Division 1 Overall Reserve Grand Champion Trophy, Banner, Monetary Prize, Sale proceeds from Silent Auction 1 Overall Grand Champion Trophy, Banner, Monetary Prize, Sale proceeds from Silent Auction 8. Top 2 entries will not be returned to the students and will be auctioned off at the auction. Proceeds will be given to student. 9. Art Contest Entry Cards must be submitted on Friday, January 26, at the LIFE Office. Check or money order per entry must be turned in with entry card. No late entries will be accepted. This will be done to make appropriate accommodations for artwork setup. 10. Artwork set up will be completed on Tuesday, the day before the judging. 11. Judging and awards will be on Wednesday at 6 pm. 12. Students will receive an all week pass bracelet. 13. Sponsors and teachers may purchase a bracelet at the office or pay entry fee for the day. Judges will be given a free day pass. Parking is Free.

2019 Art Contest & Exhibition Attn: All Art Teachers/Specialists/Principals/ Guidance Counselors/ Parent Liaisons From: LIFE 2019 Art Coordinator/Chairs It s time to once again gather up your best artwork and mosey on down to this year s LIFE Art Show and Exhibit. It s time to show off your school s talent and here is your chance! This year The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion will receive a $300 and $150 scholarship, respectively, and will also sell their artwork at the silent auction. Registration & Art Work Set Up: Date: Tuesday, February 26 th, 2019 Time: 2:00-5:00 pm Location: New Pavilion Fee Per Individual Entry: $30 (includes student pass for the week & free parking) Judging Of Artwork & Awards: Date: Wednesday, February 28 th, 2019 Time: 6:00 pm Location: New LIFE Pavilion

Frequently Asked Questions Where Do I pay the Entry Fee? Last day to pay entry fee and submit entry card is January 26 th, 2019, at the LIFE Office. No cash accepted. Limit 2 entries per individual. Each entry is $30 Who Sets up the Artwork? Sponsors are responsible for setting up the artwork. Sponsor fee is the entry fee for the day. No parking pass required. Do I need to bring anything? You will be hanging your artwork on peg board or mesh stands, bring items to safely secure your pieces. This includes scissors, tape (masking and clear) and bulldog clips/hooks, jumbo paper clips, funtak, wire! No supplies will be available or provided. Do I need to be present? Yes! All sponsors need to be present, if you are not and your school receives any awards or trophies, they will not be held. It is the sponsor s responsibility to collect them at the time, in the event the student is not present. What are the students awarded? Awards: Grand Champion Overall Reserve Grand Champion Trophy, Banner, Sale at Silent Auction, Monetary Prize Trophy, Banner, Sale at Silent Auction, Monetary Prize 1 st place & 2 nd place Trophy & Ribbon in Each Division 3 rd place Ribbons in each Division Best of Show Trophy Per Division Grand Champion & Reserve Grand Champion will not be returned to student. They will be sold at silent auction. Student receives proceeds.
