Important Information when making the Squad! At the post-tryout mandatory parent meeting we will: o Discuss potential fundraising opportunities o Order warm-ups, camp clothing, shoes, and other uniform pieces o Discuss summer camp o Discuss team tumbling class at Gymnastics Etc. Summer camp is MANDATORY. We will learn floor cheers, dances, and stunts that the girls need to learn together as one group. Tentative date for summer camp will be the July 16 th,17 th,18 st at Normal West High School from 9am-3pm. Practices are mandatory and will start the end of July two days per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:30 pm. **practices are subject to change** Fundraising: You will learn about multiple fundraising opportunities at the post-tryout mandatory parent meeting. Some fundraising options will help offset the cost for each family. Other fundraisers will go towards the cheer account to help with additional expenses such as socials and end of the year banquet. However, one of the fundraisers will help reduce the cost for cheer clothing. This will be optional, and each girl will be credited based on what they sell. There are no refunds if a girl sells more than what they owe. The extra money will go into the cheer account. Some possible fundraising options (we will not be doing ALL of these) Little Cheers Clinic (Fall) Mega Dough Car Wash (Summer) Grants Local Ice Cream or Food Business o Example(s): Potbelly s (any Tuesday; 5-8p; earn 25% of all their sales) Heads Up- Cheer is a very expensive sport. Approx. cost- $600-900 for clothing/camp We cheer at most girls and boy s games and all games are mandatory
