GROW UP BENCHMARK 120 HURDLE - 3100 metres (Run on the Parks track) The start of this event was delayed approximately 13 minutes owing to the second First Care Medical vehicle not being present on course at the required time. I'M A BLUEBAGGER (R. Cully) brushed by SEARAVEN in the vicinity of the 50 metres. CELTIC PRINCE (NZ) (T. Ryan) jumped away awkwardly. CABLE BAY (NZ) (D. Horner (Jnr)) raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. A postrace veterinary examination revealed a puncture wound above the off fore knee. First aid administered. MOTACADE (S. Jackson) jumped away awkwardly. Eased out of the event in the vicinity of the 600 metres. After review by the Jumps Review Panel and the Stewards Trainer, Mr G. Young, was advised that the gelding would now have to trial to the satisfaction of the Jumps Review Panel and the Stewards prior to a future jumps start. EXALTED KANGA (J. Lynch) held up from the vicinity of the 600 metres and obliged to alter course across the heels of other runners near the 400 metres to obtain clear ground. SEARAVEN (R. David) raced in restricted room for a number of strides after making the jump in the vicinity of the 300 metres. Saddle slipped to the near side in the vicinity of the 100 metres resulting in the gelding shifting out and brushing I M A BLUEBAGGER in the vicinity of the 50 metres. Correct weight for this event was delayed to allow R. Culley (I M A BLUEBAGGER) placed second, and Trainer, Mr J. A. O Connor, to view the Official Vision in the straight. After doing so R. Culley lodged an objection against SEARAVEN (R. David) being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding 100 metres. After considering the evidence, on viewing the official footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards dismissed the objection. All runners in this event underwent a post-race veterinary examination which, with the exception of CABLE BAY (NZ), revealed no visible abnormalities. RACE 2: JAMES BOAG'S PREMIUM / SABOIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100 metres The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes owing to the delay in Race 1. BUCK'S ROW (Z. Spain) slow to begin. SHARP DIAMOND (NZ) (D. Thornton) a post-race veterinary examination revealed small lacerations to the left hind leg. LASANTA (O. Ridge) hung out rounding the home turn and was inclined to lay in, in the straight when giving ground. TUCKERS DAUGHTER (J. Holder) reared on jumping away. RACE 3: SCHWEPPES / SABOIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres JACKPOT JOHNNY (D. Thornton) raced keenly in the middle stages of the event. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the vicinity of the150 metres. MIDNIGHT STORM (S. Price) contacted on jumping away. Became awkward on the heels of FAMILJA in the vicinity of the 800 metres and was obliged to alter course to obtain clear ground. FIRE 'N' VICE (P. Gatt) raced keenly in the middle stages of the event. HELMARA (E. Finnegan) a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. SICILY (J. Holder) slipped behind on jumping away. SPLASH OF VEUVE (J. Bowditch) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in contacting MIDNIGHT STORM. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. RACE 4: HUGHES LIMOUSINES / SABOIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres DELIVERY DAY (R. Clark) rounding the home turn was contacted by EVIL PRINCESS and taken wider on the course. HE'S A VALLEYBOY (A. Jordsjo) slow to begin. MR JAZZ MAN (D. Caboche) a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. PUJOLS (C. Lindop) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event. RHYTHM AND BLUE (S. Cahill) a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. EVIL PRINCESS (J. Toeroek) jumped away awkwardly. Contacted by SILENT COMMAND rounding the home turn and taken out onto DELIVERY DAY. PLAYING QUIETLY (E. Finnegan) in the vicinity of the 400 metres became awkward for a short distance when racing inside the heels of MR JAZZ MAN. BIG BAD BROWN (P. Gatt) raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. SILENT COMMAND (J. Kah) shifted out to improve at the entrance to the straight contacting EVIL PRINCESS. Rider reminded of her obligations when shifting ground. TROPICAL LIGHTNING (T. Pannell) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out contacting JAGRAP. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. JAGRAP (J. Holder) hampered on jumping away when contacted by TROPICAL LIGHTNING. RACE 5: UBET CLASS TWO HANDICAP - 1100 metres WITH GRAVY (J. Holder) shifted in on jumping away onto IT S BEEN A BATTLE. Had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the entrance to the straight until the vicinity of the 200 metres. FLIP DE GLOIRE (J. Kah) a post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hind leg. First aid administered. SHOW BENDER (J. Bowditch) shifted in abruptly approaching the finish resulting in J. Bowditch having to stop riding and straighten his mount. LADY ANDRESS (NZ) (T. Pannell) a post-race veterinary examination revealed a higher than expected heart rate. CAPTAIN PARKER (NZ) (C. Lindop) a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. IT'S BEEN A BATTLE (J. Potter) lost its position on jumping away when tightened between WITH GRAVY and WINDSOR CUP. Approaching the 1000 metres rolled out and contacted WITH GRAVY. IXCATAN (P. Gatt) knuckled severely on jumping away. Rider reported that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. First aid administered. Trainer, Mr J. Hyam, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness was required prior to a future trial or race. WINDSOR CUP (A. Jordsjo) shifted out on jumping away onto IT S BEEN A BATTLE. Contacted by IT S BEEN A BATTLE approaching the 1000 metres. RACE 6: QUAYCLEAN / SABOIS PLUS BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 2046 metres SANZIO (B. Griffiths) underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was ruled unfit to start. Late scratching by order of Stewards at 3.04 pm. TUCSON ARIZONA (D. Thornton) a post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. POWER GLEN (R. Clark) laid in under pressure in the straight. SEEK TO DESTROY (J. Bowditch) slow to begin. KIRCHNER (A. Jordsjo) raced wide without cover throughout the event. MYRIAD MISS (J. Potter) shifted out shortly after the start and had to be steadied off of the heels of POWER GLEN. CONQUER THE MOMENT (Z. Spain) laid in under pressure in the straight. BON ELISE (S. Fawke) Stewards permitted S. Fawke to ride the gelding without claiming his full allowance. S. Fawke was fined $200 under AR120(b). SURF CRUISER (E. Finnegan) Stewards permitted E. Finnegan to ride the gelding without claiming her full allowance. E. Finnegan was fined $200 under AR120(b). Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. RACE 7: HOLDFAST INSURANCE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1200 metres CROWN LAWYER (Z. Spain) permission was granted for the gelding to race without a tongue tie as advised as it was unable to be fitted. Inconvenienced in the vicinity of the 1000 metres when ROSIE LOUISE rolled out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer, Mr L. RACE 7: HOLDFAST INSURANCE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1200 metres (cont d) BURNRO (R. Clark) jumped away awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the straight and in the vicinity of the 200 metres and again near the 100 metres had to be aware of the heels of CHOSEN ANGEL, which was inclined to shift about under pressure. CHOSEN ANGEL (R. Hurdle) shifted about under pressure in the straight. HONEY PRINCESS (FR) (S. Cahill) had difficulty obtaining clear ground from the vicinity of the 400 metres until inside the 300 metres. ROSIE LOUISE (J. Kah) over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event and in the vicinity of the 1000 metres became awkwardly placed on the heels of BURIED TREASURE, which shifted out, resulting in the mare rolling out onto CROWN LAWYER. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than expected recovery. WILLOCHRA (T. Pannell) rolled in shortly after the start onto CARAK. CARAK (C. Lindop) hampered shortly after the start when contacted by WILLOCHRA. THE GEE TRAIN (D. Thornton) laid out under pressure in the straight. RACE 8: ATA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1600 metres ENKI (A. Jordsjo) slow into stride. Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event when awkwardly placed on the heels of REDEEKA. COMPLETE CLASS (R. Clark) slow to begin and shortly after had to be steadied when AUGUSTA BELLE shifted in. SOCIAL SET (Z. Spain) had to be eased momentarily in the vicinity of the 200 metres when BIT OF A FLIRT shifted out under pressure. GRAND ARMADA (D. Caboche) raced keenly in the middle stages of the event. HIGH TEC (NZ) (K. Bishop) laid in under pressure in the straight. JIMMYTOWN JEWEL (J. Toeroek) hampered on jumping away when taken in by AUGUSTA BELLE onto BOLD ZAMOUR (NZ). In the vicinity of the 1200 metres was racing in restricted room between the heels of BOLD ZAMOUR (NZ) and IMPULSE DIAVOLO, which both shifted ground slightly, resulting in the gelding clipping heels and losing its position. AUGUSTA BELLE (T. Pannell) shifted in abruptly on jumping away inconveniencing COMPLETE CLASS. AUGUSTA BELLE continued in making heavy contact with JIMMYTOWN JEWEL. BOLD ZAMOUR (NZ) (T. Zanker) lost its position on jumping away when taken in by JIMMYTOWN JEWEL across the heels of BIT OF A FLIRT. BIT OF A FLIRT (V. Wong) laid out under pressure in the straight and in the vicinity of the 200 metres shifted out onto SOCIAL SET. Rider reminded of his obligations when his mounts commence to shift ground. REDEEKA (C. Lindop) raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event.
