Interpretation the following Rules COMPETITION RULES (7 th March 2015 onwards) Section National s The general principle governing competitions conducted by the Police Sport UK Clay Pigeon Shooting Section is that unless specifically exempted in this rulebook, the current competition rules the National Governing Body the specific discipline will apply. The general interpretation these rules shall be vested in the Section Secretary. If his/her interpretation is not acceptable, the matter shall be referred to the Section Committee, whose decision shall be final. 1. The Section National s The annual Section National s shall be known as The Police Sport UK Clay Pigeon Shooting Section National s (PSUK CPSS National s). Competitions shall be confined to members affiliated clubs, who have been sworn in as Paid Constables, Special Constables and PCSO s, Paid Police Support Staff, Paid Cadets, Retired Police Officers or Retired Members Police Support Staff, as defined in Rule 36 the Police Sport UK Constitution. (Note: Retired Special Constables are now also covered by this rule). Members Individual Force Sections who are not eligible as above may shoot as a guest at the s but their scores will not be eligible for Individual or Team Trophies and Medals. 2. Competitions The National s will be determined, through the shooting three disciplines / courses fire : 100 English Sporting ex 300 points (3 points per scored target) 100 English Skeet ex 300 points (3 points per scored target) ex 300 points (3 points for a first shot scored target / 2 points for a second shot scored target) The Section Committee reserve the right to cancel any meeting, event or competition, change the date or venue, add to or remove any event from the meeting, or to change any the conditions the competition in the light conditions prevailing at the time. Entry Fees for each discipline will be decided each year and published on the entry form for each competition. The Section Committee may vary the entry fees at any time and the fee should be set to cover the full costs running the competition, including the cost any awards. Assuming the championship is held in a single week from Wednesday through Saturday in August/September: REVISED 18 th November 2014 Page 1

All entry fees will be payable to the Section Treasurer or nominated individual by 1 st August in the championship year, preferably by bank transfer. Any refunds will only be allowed on submission a formal request to the PSUK CPSS Committee, demonstrating detailed reasons for requesting a refund. 100% refunds will be allowable if supported by the PSUK CPSS Committee, until the 31 st July the year the championships. 75% refunds will be allowable if supported by the PSUK CPSS Committee, from 2 nd August until the Friday before the championships (25% contribution to championship organisation costs) 25% refund will be allowable if supported by the PSUK CPSS Committee, from Monday through Wednesday championships (75% contribution to championship organisation costs) ONLY when accompanied by letter from Force Sports and Social Club to Section Secretary (demonstrating valid reason) by Wednesday the championships. No refund will be permitted, if submitted following the Wednesday the championships. The competitors will be categorised into Individual, Lady, Retired, Novice, English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish competitors. Any categorisation issues will be resolved by the Classification Jury, made up three the four Section post-holders (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, with the Chairman having a casting vote, if tied). The scores from the three disciplines will be used in aggregates and concurrent championship, to determine award winners. 3. General Guidelines / Rules The following guidelines are applicable to Police Sport UK Clay Pigeon Shooting Section events: a. Matters Safety override any other rules or guidelines. b. Normal CPSA rules will apply for PSUK CPSS Individual Shooting disciplines. c. Each event must have a Jury Appointed, preferably with a representative the host ground, competitors, referees and 2 members the Police Sport UK Clay Pigeon Shooting National Committee (if available), included in the nominated Jury. Three members the Appointed Jury will be deemed to form a quorum. d. Scoring issues must be reported to the referee immediately, with hit/misses only being determined by the referee. If the competitor obtains no immediate satisfaction, any issue must be reported to the competition organisers, who will call a Jury as appropriate. If satisfaction is not forthcoming from the Jury, a formal written protest, with as copy the written Jury decision should be submitted to the Police Sport UK Clay Pigeon Shooting Secretary, who will assemble a Jury Appeal (assembled from at least the Chairman or Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and one other independent member) to consider the protest. The decision the Jury Appeal is final. e. PSUK CPSS results will be published on the Police Sport UK general website and may be additionally published in other closed police forums. 4. Un-sportsmanlike Behaviour Any competitor, team or captain/manager who undertakes un-sportsmanlike behaviour will be reported to the championship Jury (in the first instance) and any evidence used to determine the competition sanctions to be applied and details forwarded to their local force Sports & Social club. 5. Definitions: a. Definition a Novice Shooter is as follows: A Competitor Serving or Retired, who has never won an Individual or Team Medal, at a previous, or who has represented their Country in the Home International Events, or who has Qualified and been selected and has represented the PSUK National Team, in any event. b. Definition a Referee is as follows: Referees should not be Competitors, and will be appointed by the staging ground and will have the same authority as given by the rules the CPSA. Competitors must comply with all instructions given by referees or other ficials under penalty disqualification from that and future events. c. Definition a Safety Officer is as follows: A Safety Officer is a competitor, ficial, guest or other PSUK CPSS Committee appointed individual, who holds a valid CPSA Safety Officer certification. d. It is the competitor s responsibility to ensure any restrictions the host ground, (such as shot size, shot load and shot composition) are complied with. When no other specific restrictions are in place, CPSA rules will be deemed to be in effect. e. The Council Police Sport UK has taken a limited liability Personal Injury Policy Insurance to cover any Competitor, Official or Committee Member the Police Sport UK aged between 16 and 65 years, who is participating or ficiating at any s organised on behalf Police Sport UK, and who as a result receiving serious bodily injury, dies or is permanently disabled resulting in their being retired from their Force. A condition the Insurance Policy is that notice must be given to the Insurance Company any Injury which might give rise to any claim, as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case within 21 days the occurrence. In order to comply with requirements both the organisers the National s and the Police Sport UK Office must be informed any such incident immediately. These conditions must be brought to the attention all Competitors by their inclusion in Entry forms for the s. Competitors requiring additional Insurance cover are advised to consult their own Insurance Companies.
