1st IWWF PANAM Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships November 13th 18th 2018 AQUA PARK DOWN TOWN PUNTA CANA CABLE PARK DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Bulletin 1 The Dominican Republic Water Ski & Wakeboard Federation and Aqua Park Down Town Punta Cana Cable Park herewith invite all Members Federations of the IWWF Panam region to the 1st IWWF PANAM Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships which will be held in Punta Cana from 13-18th of November 2018. 1. Location The Dominican Republic is the second largest country in the Caribbean, after Cuba, with the highest population in the region with 10.65 million people. It became independent in 1924 from the United States and is a democratic nation. The Dominican Republic has the 9th most important economy in Latin America and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Caribbean. Baseball is the most popular sport, the majority of the nation is Roman Catholic, and numerous forms of currency (Dominican Pesos, US Dollars, Euros) are accepted. 1
PUNTA CANA Punta Cana is a destination location for rest and relaxation. Here, the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, and large resorts line the beaches offering all of the comforts of modern living. Punta Cana is a golfer s paradise with 11 courses located all along the strip. Most of the resorts cater to families with entertainment parks for children and activities for adults all in one place. TRANSFER HOTEL-SITE-HOTEL - The organizer will provide free transportation from the Official Hotel to the Event venue every event day. RENT-A-CAR - Alternatively, participants may choose to use any of the major rent-a-car companies that are available in Punta Cana. 2

3. COMPETITION SITE AquaPark, is located in DownTown Punta Cana. It is a water sports park suitable for the whole family. Visitors have the opportunity to participate in various activities, from the most relaxed to those of greater action and adrenaline fueled, with family participation as the main focus. AquaPark hosts multiple activities, designed to suit adrenaline seekers or those seeking relaxation. You can participate on the Wake Park, sliding on the surface of the water, using either a Wakeboard, Water skis or a Knee board, our fantastic team can help with showing you how it s done. There are some nice floating Obstacles on the course for the more experienced rider. We also boast a fantastic floating Inflatable Aqua Park, with a giant catapault! For those wanting something a little more sedentary, how about Paddleboarding around the Play Lake. AquaPark is ideal for all ages and pays special attention to ensuring it s fun for the whole family! Ensuring that both adults and children have the amazing time they are all seeking. After all these activities, visitors will need to recharge, at AquaPark, they can find the restaurant Chozza, this fantastic restaurant offers gourmet food throughout the day to keep their visitors and family satisfied. The course consists of: 3 kickers (1 small, 1 large, 1 XL curved) 1 Flat Edge transfer 1 A-frame transfer 1 Large Pipe 1 Rooftop 1 Incline with pipe 3 flatbar (1 box, 1 iron rail, 1 inox incline rail) 6. How to Reach the Site Organizer will provide shuttle service from hotel to competition site. For the riders, team manager, team captains and officials. 8. WEATHER In PUNTA CANA, the month of November is characterized by an average high temperature of 33 C and an average low temperature of 23 C. The climate is moderate and all riders will enjoy the very little probability of rain. 9. CURRENCY The Dominican local Currency is the PESO ($RD). Visa, American Express and MasterCard are accepted in almost all hotels, shops and restaurants. 6

INTENTION TO ENTER DEADLINE All member Federations have to submit their Intention to Enter for the 2018 Panam Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships to Diego at diegowake15@gmail.com Please see P14 for the INTENTION TO ENTER FORM For ANY LATE INTENTION TO ENTER registration (after the deadline of 20th October 2018), USD 200 penalty will be charged in respect of the PANAM Federation rules. 12. ENTRY FORMS DEADLINE is 30th October 2018. All member Federations have to submit their Entry Form for the 2018 Panam Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships on line via the Cablewakeboard Council website: www.cablewakeboard.net. Please follow the guidance notes on the appendices at the end of this document. For ANY LATE ENTRY FORM registration (after the deadline of 30th October 2018), USD 10 per rider per day will be charged as penalty in respect of the Panam Federation rules. 13. ENTRY FEE The Entry Fee is US$ 180 dollars per athlete which includes the lunches for the athletes on competition days, transport hotel-competition-hotel and also admission to all official receptions and parties. 14. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 7
It is the sole responsibility of IWWF-affiliated National Federations to select and enter their riders. 15. NOMINATION FOR IWWF PANAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Each Federation may select its team in any manner it desires. However, each team member must be a citizen or applying for citizenship of the country that the Federation represents. In case of doubt as to the nationality of a competitor, the Chief Judge and Chief Calculator normally will refer to his/her passport. If a rider does not have a passport from the country he/she is representing, he/she must prove residence in the country for at least five years and membership in an affiliated club of the Federation. Each Federation shall certify that all members of its team meet these qualifications. Prior to competing, a competitor must sign a participation contract and understand the nature of the sport and its special risks, particularly in the format. It is the responsibility of the competitor to register with the designated registration person and show proof of Federation membership before riding. Competitors must disclose to the event organizer any special medical conditions, including but not limited to, injuries in the past or present or other pre-existing medical conditions. IMPORTANT: In addition to your official nomination and entry done by Federations, every rider needs to register and join the competition at www.cablewakeboard.net individually. As this are the 1st Panam Confederation Championships, and exception will be done to the minimum ranking points requirements. No minimum ranking points will be needed to join the competition. PAY ATTENTION TO THESE POINTS: 3.4 Competition Entry: All riders must be registered through their respective Federation. Federations will decide the criteria for the riders entry. There is currently no restriction to the number of riders per nationality. 3.5 There will be following World and Confederation Championships: Open Championships (for five categories): o Wakeboard: OpenMen,OpenLadies o Wakeskate: OpenMen,OpenLadies o Seated: OpenMen&Ladies Youth & Senior Championships (for ten categories): o Wakeboard: U15 Boys, U15 Girls, U19 Men,U19 Ladies, +30 Men, +30 Ladies, +40 Men, +40 Ladies o Wakeskate:U19Men,U19Ladies As listed in point 3.5 of the World Rulebook, the PANAM CHAMPIONSHIPS (as all other confederation Championships and Worlds) are divided in two separate competitions. On the first days we will held the Youth and Senior Championships and then the Open Championships. Riders competing in the Youth and Senior Championships in categories such as U19 or +30 can join also the Open Competition. In this case a second entry fee will have to be paid. Official trainings for the Open Categories will be organized after the finals of the Youth and Senior Championships. This allows Open riders to arrive just on November 15th. TEAM SCORING: 9
Please read point 11 on the World Rulebook: 11 TEAM SCORING AT CONFEDERATION AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 11.1 It is encouraged to have a mixed participation with men and women riders within a team, although it is not compulsory. 2. 11.2 The following Team scoring will be used for country classification at Confederation and World Championships: Open Championships: team score will include the 5 best results of all categories, with a maximum of 1 rider per category. Youth & Senior Championships: team score will include the 10 best results of all categories, with a maximum of 1 rider per category. 3. 4. 5. 11.3 In the event of a tie between 2 teams, the next best score will be added until there is a winning team. 11.4 The ranking point system for the relevant competition, as described in Appendix E, will be used to calculate the Team Scoring. 16. LIABILITY The organizer Committee and Panam will not be liable for any loss or damage to equipment or personal property, and injuries to athletes, officials, judges, official volunteers, and other persons attending official or unofficial programmers during the event. Athletes are required to purchase and show proof of personal accident insurance prior to entry. The insurance policy must provide coverage internationally. The organizer will not be responsible for any injury sustained, at any time, by any athlete from his participation in these events. Any costs incurred for medical treatment and hospitalization in private hospitals in Brazil are high. Adequate personal medical insurance coverage is necessary. Certificate of medical insurance coverage/full payment treatment/hospitalization takes place. 10 is required before medical
All riders have to sign a liability form, and riders under 18 need their parents to sign as well. Each Team Captain has to give Liability forms of all his athletes at the Registration. Please read the 2018 IWWF Wakeboard Rules for further information 17. DOPING CONTROL In accordance with the IWWF Anti-Doping Rules, doping controls will be conducted during the competition. By entering this competition, all athletes agree to be subject to doping control. Information about the IWWF Anti-Doping program, the current IWWF AD Rules and links to the list of banned substances can be accessed on the following link http://iwwfed.com/athletes/anti-doping/ All riders must have their passports with them at any time during the competition. Please note, if you are randomly chosen for drug testing, and fail to identify yourself with your passport, or fail to take the test for any other reason, it will result with an immediate disqualification. 18. OFFICIAL TEAM TRAINING & EXTRA RENTAL HOURS PER COUNTRY Official training for Youth and Senior Categories will be on November, 13th. Official training for Open Categories will on November 16th. Each country will have the training times calculated by the number of riders. The final schedule by country will be published after the registrations are done. Federations can also book rental hours for teams on 5th November. Rules For the rental hours, will be announced in the next bulletin 19. OFFICIALS SEMINAR There will be an international Officials Seminar. 11
Information about the seminar will be announced in the next bulletin. 20. Preliminary Schedule A tentative schedule will be announced after the intention to enter forms are submitted. 21. RULES According to the IWWF CWWC WORLD RULES 2018 They are available for download at www.cablewakeboard.net AGE CATEGORIES - Wakeboard & Wakeskate: U11 U11 s cannot compete in an International Competition. To compete in the PANAM Championships, they must have reached their 11th Birthday. There will not be an U11 Category in this competition. If there is enough interest from U11 Riders, the organiser will arrange a special NON Ranked Competition for this age group. Age Categories The Rider must have reached his/her 11th Birthday to be able to compete Internationally. Any rider whose DOB is after 13th November 2007, will not be able to start in the PANAM Championships. U15 (15 or under), Boys & Girls: The last year a rider is allowed to compete in this category is the year of his 15th birthday. (For 2018, it means that the rider has to be born in 2003 or later). U19 (19 or under), Junior Men & Ladies: The last year a rider is allowed to compete in this category is the year of his 19 th birthday. (For 2018, it means the rider has to be born in 1999 or later). Open Men, Open Ladies: No age restriction +30: Masters Men & Ladies: The first year a rider is allowed to compete is the year of his 12
31st birthday. (For 2018, it means the rider has to be born in 1987 or before). +40: Veterans Men & Ladies: The first year a rider is allowed to compete is the year of his 41st birthday. (For 2018, it means the rider has to be born in 1977 or before). To clarify: a rider born in 2007 can compete in U15, U19 or Open categories, or a rider born in 1999 can compete in U19 or Open.
