Steep Turns Profile This is a proficiency maneuver to demonstrate aircraft control The objective of the maneuver is to familiarize the pilot the airplane handling characteristics in a turn beyond 35 and improve the instrument panel scan. Steep Turns are done with the Autopilot and Flight Director off Brief PM, if desired, to give 15 rollout call to avoid going through the assigned rollout heading,. Set-up Autopilot and Flight Director OFF Stabilize aircraft at 250kts Entry Make a smooth, coordinated roll to 45 bank Increase N1 by approximately 3-4% Roll-Out Begin a smooth rollout 15 prior to assigned heading
