PROVIDENCE COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WITNESS CHANGE LAST TIME THE FRIARS DEFEATED THE PANTHERS IN PITTSBURGH... The last time Providence defeated the Panthers in Pittsburgh dates back to January 11, 2002. The Friars posted an 80-77 victory on that day. It marked the last game between the two teams at Fitzgerald Field House. Since then, the Friars and Panthers have played five games at the Petersen Events Center. Pitt is 5-0 vs. Providence at the Petersen Events Center. THE LAST MEETING... Providence and Pittsburgh last met on January 28, 2012 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The Friars earned a 66-50 victory vs. the Panthers. SCOUTING PITTSBURGH... The Panthers enter Wednesday's game with a 9-12 overall record and a 0-8 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Pitt has earned seven of its nine victories at home in the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers are led by Asia Logan, who is averaging 15.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. Brianna Kiesel is the only Panther to start every game this season, and is second on the team in scoring (14.0 ppg). She also leads Pitt in steals (30) and assists (63). ROBERTS STEALS THE SHOW... Senior guard Symone Roberts (New Britain, Conn.) leads the Friars and is second in the BIG EAST in steals this season, with 74 (3.5 spg). It marks the most steals by a Friar in a single-season since Tracy Lis '92 set a school record with 101 during the 1991-92 campaign (30 games). That year, Lis averaged a program-best 3.3 steals per game. Roberts is slightly ahead of that pace heading into Wednesday's game at 3.5 thefts per contest. HARRIS SHINES IN THE STARTING LINE-UP... Sophomore forward Alexis Harris (Detroit, Mich.) has made two appearances in the starting line-up this season and has made the most of her opportunities. In starts vs. Rhode Island and No. 24 Syracuse, Harris has averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. In the Friars' most recent game against the nationallyranked Orange, Harris posted a career-high 15 points and nine rebounds as a member of the starting five. Her nine boards was one shy of her career high (10 vs. Delaware and Georgetown). In 18 games as a reserve for the Friars, Harris is averaging 5.8 points and 4.9 rebounds. ROBERTS NEARING CENTURY MARK FOR ASSISTS... Senior guard Symone Roberts (New Britain, Conn.) enters Wednesday's game against Pitt with a careerbest 96 assists. Roberts needs four more hand-outs to reach the century mark for the first time in her career. The last player to reach 100 assists in a single season was Lola Wells '12 during the 2010-11 season (101). 2012-13 SCHEDULE 6-15 (1-7 BIG EAST) NOVEMBER 9 Fri. DREXEL L, 60-50 14 Wed.
