CLASS DESCRIPTIONS DERBY DAY CLASSES All derby day classes are open to juniors, amateurs and professionals. Dressage Tests: Tests from USEA 2014 official tests. Derby Classes: To consist of stadium and natural obstacles, occurring both in and out of the arena. Natural obstacles may consist of but not limited to: logs, banks, ditches, water and fixed obstacles. No liverpools in classes of heights lower than 3'. Scoring: Closest to optimum time without going over. Riders may elect to return for additional "schooling" rounds at their schooling height at $30 per round. This round is strictly for schooling. Only first rounds will be scored. Heights and spreads: 2' - Not to exceed 2' height and 2' spread 2'6 - Not to exceed 2'6 in height and 2'9 in spread 3' - Not to exceed 3' in height and 3'3 in spread 3'3 - Not to exceed 3'3 in height and 3'6 in spread 3'6 - Not to exceed 3'6 in height and 3'9 in spread 3'9 - Not to exceed 3'9 in height and 4' in spread Combined Derby Classes: The combined class consist of a dressage test and a derby round at each respective level. Jumper Classes: Scored under Table II Section 2b Optimum Jumpers: Scored by Table II faults incurred, ties decided by closest optimum time under time allowed. HUNTER/JUMPER DAY CLASSES Hunter Classes - Warm-up: Non-judged warm-up class will run all day. Cross Rail Classes: Open to junior and amateur riders who have never shown over a course of 2' or higher. Stirrup Rider Classes: Open to junior and amateur riders who have never shown in 2'6" or higher. Green Rider Classes: Open to junior and amateur riders. May not cross enter into any classes with fences 2'6" or higher. Restricted Rider Classes: Open to junior and amateur riders. May not cross enter into any classes with fences 2'9" or higher. Training Hunter, Low Hunter, and El Sueño Hunter: Open to juniors, amateurs and professionals. Jumper Classes - Open to junior, amateurs and professionals..75m - 1.20m Jumpers: All classes have a $5 add back prize to 1st place. $200 1.0m Jumper Stake & $200 1.10m Jumper Classic - Table II.2a/b. Riders with clean rounds may elect to jump off immediately or at the end of the class. Class must have a minimum of 5 entries to be held as $200 class or class becomes a $50 add back class with money paid to first. Riders must have shown in at least one jumper class prior to the Classic. Prize monies 1st - $100, 2nd - $50, 3rd - $35, 4th - $15 Junior: Open to riders 17 & under. Amateur: Open to riders 18 & over who meet the requirements for Amateur status as established by the USEF and/or PCHA

General Information, Rules & Regulations Conditions of Competition Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. El Sueño Entry Agreement By entering the El Sueño Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Rider or Handler and on behalf of myself and my principles, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of El Sueño Equestrian, The United States Equestrian Federation "USEF" and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the USEF and of the competition. I will accept as the final decision of the Competition Management on any questions arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the USEF, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and /or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of acceptance of entry, the competition may use or assign photographs, video, audios, cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition or the sport. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocable waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity. or to misappropriation. The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regards to or arising out of, or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management; its decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves to itself the right to limit entries in any class, section or division, to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibitions of entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages; to change any course, to add a dotted line, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes, after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges; to change specifications in Jumper classes as competition warrants. Every horse entered herein for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but the Show Management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the horse show and the officials, employees, directors, officers, sponsoring entities of the horse show and the facilities at which the horse show is held blameless for any loss or accident to his/her horse(s), employee(s), or equipment with may occur from sickness, fire or other cause.

ENTRY PROCEDURE: Fees must be paid in U.S. Funds. Entry Form must be completed in its entirety. Enter Online at www.horseshowtime.com or by mail. If mailing entry forms should be sent to, and checks payable to El Sueño Equestrian Center, 5250 Kingsgrove Dr. Somis, CA 93066 ENTRY POLICY: A signed Open Check must be lodged with the Show Secretary before Numbers as issued. Exhibitors are encouraged to close their accounts in person. Management will close Exhibitors Accounts that have not been settled at the conclusion of each show. Billing questions or refunds will not be considered. The horse show policies herein stated regarding scratches and refunds will be followed regardless of weather. ADD/SCRATCH/CHANGE: Any class add, scratch, or change, or any complete Show Scratch must be made in writing in the show office on an official form, or via the shows online add/scratch form, by email and received prior to the start of the applicable class or show. Scratching a class "at the gate" does not constitute an official scratch. Once a class or division begins, it may not be scratched. A class that has been closed may not be scratched. COMBINING, DIVIDING OR CANCELING DIVISIONS, CLASSES OR CLASSICS: The Decision to Combine, Cancel or Divide classes will be make at the discretion of the Show Management. A minimum of two riders are required for a class to be held, otherwise it will be cancelled or combined. REFUNDS: Refunds will only be given if management cancels the class. ARRIVAL: Please arrive no earlier the 6:00am on show days. STABLING: Tent stalls are approximately 10x10 portable, with doors. Stall charts will be posted at show office. Order stalls and shavings on entry form or by phone call Lisa @ 805-441-1122. Bedding on straw is prohibited. RETURNED CHECKS: Checks returned for any reason will be assessed a penalty of $50. Upon notification, exhibitors will have three days to make full payment, including penalty, in a certified funds, cashier's check or money order. A monthly service fee equal to 18% per annum will begin accruing after 30 days. PRIZE MONEY: is issued to the "Recipient of Prize Money" recorded on the entry from. A valid Social Security or Federal ID number must be provided. RIDING, SCHOOLING & LUNGING INFORMATION: Riding: Ride in designated arenas only. Riding in derby field during show hours is strictly prohibited. At no time is a rider allowed to be in an arena when the water truck or tractor is in the arena. Schooling in Arenas: Riders may only use show arenas to school one (1) hour prior to show start time and a TRAINER MUST BE PRESENT Schooling in Derby Field: Schooling in derby field may take place with prior permission and at designated times. Please contact show management to schedule schooling in the derby field. Lunging: Allowed in designated areas only. PARKING: Please park only in designated show parking/trailer parking areas.

SAFETY: Protective Headgear: It is compulsory for riders in all Hunter, Jumper, Derby and Hunt Seat Equitation classes where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear that meets or exceeds ASTM standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted and harness secured. The Show Management, committee and officials are not responsible for checking headgear worn for such compliance. Dogs must be restrained on the show grounds: All dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times. Loose dogs will be picked up and detained and the owner fined $100. Please be sure to pick up after your dog. El Sueño Equestrian Rules & Regulations 1. No smoking in the barns, stalls, paddocks, corrals, near the shavings bins, manure pile or anywhere else there is combustible material. 2. Motorized vehicles including motorcycles, bicycles, skate boards, etc., are not allowed within the facilities. 3. Please deposit trash in the designated trash barrels. 4. Do not ride or graze horses on the landscaped areas. 5. Riders, trainers, grooms and spectators must be respectful to the boarders on property and stay within designated show areas. 6. Please use designated show restrooms and not restrooms in the barn. 7. All exhibitors, trainers and guests are expected to exhibit proper sportsmanship. 8. All participants must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement. 9. El Sueño Equestrian reserves the right to limit or revoke participation at any time to anyone. Riders/horses deemed unsafe must dismount and leave the ring. 10. Exhibitors are to compete at their own risk. 11. While on show grounds riders must wear protective head gear at all times while mounted. 12. CHILDREN must be under adult supervision at all times. Unattended children will be put to work cleaning stalls in the barn.
