Weymouth Country Club Membership Newsletter June 2015 Page 3 Letter from the Desk of the GM, Brian Wolbers Greetings Weymouth Country Club Members! The season is in full swing with the early arrival of Memorial Day. Labor Day is September 7th, so our Pool season is as long as it possibly could be according to the calendar. Although Mother Nature has not cooperated lately, sun and fun will be daily activities at the Club. As you can see, we have planned a month s worth of activities focused on you, the membership of this Club. Member/Member is this Saturday the 6th, Twilight at the Pool Happy Hour is Friday, June 12th, Tie-Dyed Crafts for the kids on June 13th, and by popular demand, we will host a drive in movie for your golf carts, featuring the classic, Caddyshack on June 27th. Ladies Golf Fashion Shows, Wednesday Night Grill Nights, as well as open Monday Member Specials on June 7th are included this month and every month at our Club. If you are interested in holding a family event or a small golf outing, please contact Rich Kovach or Aleese Sterk to take care of your needs. Member pricing is always available, and we never charge you a room fee at your own Club! That is all for this month. Look for our Weymouth Weekly publications to keep you up top date on all that is happening at Weymouth CC!

Weymouth Country Club Membership Newsletter June 2015 Page 12 Turf Talk with Superintendent, Kenny Aukerman FROM THE GREEN May was a challenging month. Higher temperatures and far below normal rainfall caused the turf to go right to seed head production. Areas that seed head suppression chemicals were applied were clean from seed heads but would not green up or grow. This gave the golfer lots of roll in the fairways. The rough was another story. Every variety of turf produced seed heads, which are very hard to mow and left clumps of grass all over. We were continuously blowing and sweeping up these clumps. The inch of rain we received this week has helped green us back up and should help reduce seed head production. With the schools finishing up for year, you will be seeing an increase of workers on the course. We will be hitting the detailing of the course big time. Our Fairway drainage project has been approved. Materials have been ordered and an experienced person has been hired to head this project. He will begin shortly. This project will address all the holes and drainage problems that have increased over the past years in the fairways. It will be a long and tedious project that will take time to finish. You may have noticed that Ash tree stump removal has started. Again, this project will take time to complete. There were 98 stumps ground out. If you hit in to the debris or the hole, this is considered ground under repair with free relief. There are just too many stumps to be marked. Please do not drive over newly added soil. Feel free to let us know of any concerns or questions you have on the course. We want to address any problems as soon as possible. Please don t wait to the end of the season to voice your concerns. I may have been here a long time and you think I am set in my ways. However, I am always looking for new challenges and ways to make Weymouth CC the best for you. That s what drives me to come to work every day. Enjoy the golfing season.

The Weymouth Garden is planted with numerous varieties of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumber, squash, fresh herbs, kale & lettuce. Cannot wait for all the amazing fresh and healthy dining coming our Members way!!

Weymouth Country Club Membership Newsletter June 2015 Page 14 From your Head Golf Professional, Kevin Maust As we are in the swing of summer I would like to say thank you to all the Members for the great start to the season! The pro shop is filling up with merchandise and the newest equipment is in! Join us on June 10th for our Demo Day in which we will be hosting all of our vendors on one day. Titleist, Taylormade and Adams Golf will be here from 3:00-7:00PM with the latest equipment. Please call the golf shop if you would like to sign up for a personal fitting, 330.725.3186. We would like to remind everyone on the upcoming golf events at the club: June 6-7th Men s Member/Member (Weymouth- 6th and Fox- 7th) June 11th Weymouth Junior Golf Academy (First Day) June 12th Friday Night Couples (Fox Meadow) June 14th Couple Luau Golf and Pool Party (Weymouth) June 19th Friday Night Couples (Weymouth) June 20th Four Man Better Ball Tournament (Weymouth) We would like to review the Spring Season and remind the Members of a few key topics that we would like to continue to improve over the season. As a Club, everyone takes pride in maintaining an enjoyable Pace of Play. As the course is rated to play in 4 hours and 5 minutes, most Members enjoy a pace under this time and which is very attainable. Although a foursome is permitted to play at a 4 hour and 5 minute pace, we would like to encourage these Members to be courteous and allow faster players to play through. Following these practices will enhance the enjoyment of everyone s round and maintain a Country Club Pace of Play. New for the 2015 Season We have had some interest for Members walking and using a Caddie. The golf shop will be organizing a caddie program to offer a new service to the Members. As we get started, all caddies will be arranged by appointment only. If you are interested in playing with the assistance of a caddie please contact the golf shop for details! Since we have distance limitations on the Weymouth Driving Range, we ask all members to acknowledge when we put the Irons Only sign up. We would like to eliminate the balls that are hit over the back of the range. If you would like to practice hitting drivers, please use the back corner of the range opposite of which the balls are set. We look forward to another great summer at the Weymouth Club!
