If you are interested in participating in the Winter Carnival Events, contact Howard Urban (hurban@optonline.net) so he can coordinate your trip with any information or forms the Connecticut Ski Council requires. 1) Dinner Tickets If you are interested in the Saturday night dinner. The tickets must be purchased in advance. Contact Howard Urban for this. The deadline is at the next meeting, Wednesday 2/6/2018 for the club to make a purchase for you. Tickets must be purchased prior to the weekend through your club coordinator. Your club coordinator should contact dinner coordinator for printed tickets. Deadline for ticket request with the CSC coordinators is CSC meeting before the event. (Tuesday - February meeting) Advance purchase only. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR WEEKEND EVENT Registration for meals, and lodging shall be done before the weekend event. The on-snow carnival is a 3 day event with 11 competitive events concluding on Sunday. Awards party for Juniors will be at the Saturday Night Dinner, all other awards will be at the Season End Awards Night. Each club shall have a coordinator that shall be responsible for all of the individual clubs finances- including Lodging. Chair people will be assigned for each competition during the weekend, see listing for each event. MEAL TICKETS Must be purchased prior to the weekend through your club coordinator. Your club coordinator should contact dinner coordinator for printed tickets. Deadline for ticket request with the CSC coordinators is CSC meeting before the event. (Tuesday - February meeting) Advance purchase only. No substitutions or additions will be allowed at the dinner. Dinner on Saturday Night at the Grand Summit Hotel (cost includes tax) Adult $15.00 Junior 6-12 $8.00 Child 5 and under only free WEEKEND COMPETITION EVENTS Points for each event may be earned by the club as: 1st-10 points; 2nd- 9 points; 3rd- 8 etc. with the exception of the Junior Race, and Volleyball. Volleyball shall be 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 (losers of 2nd round). Junior A starts at 4 points, Junior B starts at 6 points. Any club that participates in an event earns at least one point for participation. The chairperson for each event will be responsible to give each event result to the overall coordinator to mark on a chart all points to be awarded for each club as per finish. DAYCARE: Childcare is available for ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. Pricing is $90 a day and based on space available. Parent s are responsibe to make advance reservations. Pricing is subject to change without notice. PLEASE NOTE: All participants must fill both the CSC Waiver and Mount Snow Waiver to participate in any and all events. If the two Waivers are not received they will not be able to participate. It is up to Club Coordinator that the two waivers are completed and turned in. RACING EVENTS: Deadline for racing events is CSC meeting before the event. (Tuesday February 12 th meeting) Any revisions for run order must be handed in, in writing at the registration on Saturday morning. No guarantee that any replacement team member will have name posted. Team names first submitted shall be written on result sheet. Team captains will be responsible for all name changes on Saturday morning. Coordinate with AE Ski Club. DOWNHILL/Super G: [Also CT State Championship Race] Similar to the X-C race, the top male and female of each club counts toward points for the individual club. The lowest combined time of the clubs male and female racer earns points for the weekend. A single member would earn 1 participation point. First come, first race, on race day. This race requires a state waiver form & the weekend waiver form. Registration starts at 7:30 Saturday morning in the Sundance Base Lodge. JUNIOR RACE (A and B) Junior A is 10 years old or younger (as of January 1st of that year). Only one team per club. If requested a junior A may run the junior B course. Fastest male & female combined time is the team time - up to a total of 4 points. 5

Junior B : Unlimited participants- top 3 finishers combined time make the team time; one must be female, only one team per club. A junior B is seventeen years (as of January 1st of that year) and younger. Up to a total of 6 points. The event chairperson shall be responsible for all; race registration and team results, (individual results by ski area). SNOWBOARD RACE [Also CT State Championship Race] This race will count for 10 points for the carnival weekend. A club team consists of 2 club members, any gender or any age to count toward points for the individual club. The lowest combined time of the clubs two racers earns points for the weekend. A single member would earn 1 participation point. Note this is also the CT State Snowboard Race. TEAM RACE; WOMEN S RACE; CLUB RACE Open to all CSC adults (18+ years as of January 1st of the year). Races are typically single panel courses. The team racing captain (TRC) of each club is the coordinator of any event for that club. The club winner of the Team race the year before, shall have an appointed Event Racing Chairman (ERC). The ERC shall be responsible to collect all entries, seed the races, coordinate gatekeepers, and any other duties necessary for the oversight of the races. The racing chairman of the CSC will be an overseer of the events, but not necessarily an active participant in the organization, he/she is an advisor only. The ERC shall have a team form distributed to all clubs. Each club competing, shall submit, before the last CSC meeting before the Carnival, the forms that apply with all participants listed. The team form will list all individual club racers and their running order. The ERC shall provide a seeding packet for each club s team captain at the day of the race. The packet shall include bibs for the racers. The Ski Club Ambassadors will write times as announced (by ski area), on the scoreboards for each race. Team Race shall consist of 6 person team, best 4 finishers (total added time). Woman s Race shall consist of 4 women, best 3 finishers (total added time, may have competed on team). Club Race shall be the top 5 finishers, unlimited number on team (total added time, may not have skied on either team or women s team). A racer may use a snowboard or skis, but whichever is chosen may only ski/board one run for each event. VOLLEYBALL: All players must be club members (honor system), no age restriction. Players must all wear alpine ski or snowboard boots. Teams must maintain a minimum of 5 persons on the court at all times, 6 players on court maximum. Teams shall consist of ten players maximum on club roster. Seeding for 1st round same as team racing seed. Random draw for all byes. Each team will have a team captain. Game is 15 points win by 2, and every play counts as a point. All rounds to be played on Saturday. Each team must check in at 2:30 with the event chairperson to assure there will be no last minute forfeits of any team. TUG-OF-WAR: Five person maximum, 1 woman minimum. Ski boots (alpine or snowboard) must be worn, (no crampons). The tug-of-war may be a 4 way pull or 2 way pull- at the discretion of the event chairperson. 4 teams start; north, south, east & west. (center knot must be pulled past circle 30 diameter to win). Possible 2 winners per heat (judge s ruling final). Single elimination by seed order. If 2 teams win a heat they must be opposite in the next heat, or in different heats. The top 3 teams will be determined for points. The event chairperson shall have the final say of all heats. 6

X-COUNTRY RACE [Also CT State Championship Race] The race will be held at Timber Creek. Race Day Registration at the Timber Creeek Lounge will start at 8:00 am Sunday morning, with the race starting at 9:00 am. The race may start in 30 second intervals or a mass start. (To be determined by the race chairman on race day depending on conditions and turnout). Classic style x-country skiing is the norm. The combined time of the fastest man + woman of each club will achieve points for team standing. A single member of a club will earn 1 participation point. SKI RALLY: Each club receives 1 packet. Unlimited number of people allowed per each club. In event of a tie, the time elapsed will be the tie breaker. Packets must be picked up by the club representative at 9:00 am Sunday morning in the base lodge. Specific location to be announced at the party on Saturday night. FUN RACE: Only the coordinator knows the rules for sure- they will be explained at the time of the event. Scoring: For 1 st place Downhill = 10 Snowboard = 10 Junior A = 4 (fastest male & female) Junior B = 6 (fastest male & female) Women = 10 Team = 10 Club Race = 10 Cross- Country = 10 Ski Rally = 10 Volleyball = 10 Fun Race = 10 Tug of War = 10 In a 10 point competition 2 nd place would 9 points, 3 rd 8 points, 4 th 7 points etc. One point is awarded for participation in all events if club does not have a full team or does not meet requirements for each individual competition. (i.e. women s team did not have 3 finishers) 7

2019 On Snow Winter Carnival Weekend Saturday Night Dinner at Mt Snow s Grand Summit Banquet Room The Saturday Night Dinner will be held in Grand Summit Banquet Room, March 2 nd at 7:00pm. Dinner will be Buffet Style. There will be a DJ and Dancing after Dinner and announcements!! Come out and have fun!!! Price for Dinner will be: BUFFET MENU Buffet Style with carving station Final menu selection may vary slightly as Culinary menus are updated. Tickets will be given out at the CSC Meeting. You can also e-mail your final dinner count to csc.onsnow@gmail.com, so that the tickets will be ready when you turn in your club payment and dinner list. All Returns must include the following: 1. List of all the Club Members who have purchased a Saturday Night Dinner ticket. Tickets will only be given to Club Members that paid for their dinner.
