Johnson Director at Large: Robert Gibbs General Counsel: Marshall Medlin SASBA South Central Dir: Jim Kimg D a v i d O z i o rolled +677 in the qualifying to best Steve Rays qualifying record by five pins in the Ebonite Senior Tour tournament at 300 bowl in Conroe. Ozio cruised to the win by 190 pins over second place Rick Minier. Mark Estes was third, Bill Smith fourth, and Maury Newman captured fifth. Ozio was using an Ebonite V2 Power and had many chances to roll 300 to get the $100 prize for Ebonite, but was unable do it. Rookie, Mike Cox made his first finals, look for him to repeat many times. H o s t B a r r y Chapman had his center in fine shape and his employees ran a great show for us. The lanes started out fairly slick and tightened up, game by game, never breaking down. Even Whole Lane Gillane was outside, a first for him. The left Jamie s Tournament Notes Jerry Dickerson and Super Star Norm Clark rolled 133 low games of the tournament to win the dog of the week award. The sweeper dog David Zappitelli rolled 149 to win the sweeper dog of the week. Gordon Stuntz wore John Woesner s shirts. Tommy Crouch won the Linds shoes in the sweeper and Randy Ham won the Linds shoes in the tournament for being first out. Bryce Ellison rolled 300. David Addington really did not like Saturday but really likes Sunday. Claude Thomas startedout red hot and looked like a finalist but his wheel fell off the last six games, great bowling Claude! Bill Smith had his finest tournament in a while. Junior Sultan, Jimmy Young, never had to move, he was the only one playing where he was playing. side looked like it had less oil and the lefties that found the shot bowled good, even Fluffy found it and bowled great. The carry down caused the right side to move to the right as play ensued to make the ten pin. Many balls went in the right gutter. Our next event will be at Copperfield Bowl in Houston. Mike Fleming would have scared Ozio, a little. Pat Currie can eat more catfish than anybody!!!!! Stan is still doing great, and we will see him soon. Harry Reeves had both Harrys with him, the striking one and the other one. Marshall Medlin finished over. John Ernst had two CP s in a row, the same frame. Skee Foremsky visited us after his triple bypass, he looks great.

VOLUME 15, ISSUE 16 Page 4 AND HERE S W HAT HAPPENED AT CONROE! Sixteen Red Hatters and four guests had a seling and shopping good time at the home of Betty Britton last Saturday. Betty s Little Shop of Hobbies was a great success. Our gracious hostess provided delicious brown bag lunches for everyone (what was in that secret sauce?) and while we were enjoying them is the only time it got quiet. Alene Hensley won the trifecta the Ladybug Award, the door prize (a beautiful Red Hat bag which she is not allowed to use yet), and one of the beautiful dolls that decorated the tables. Is she lucky, or what? Barbara Redlinger won the other doll. I have to mention that the decorations for this event, all done by hostess Betty and her helper and dearest friend, Brenda Park, were absolutely amazing. The handpainted tablecloths were beautiful, and who else, other than these two, could take toilet plungers and turn them into dolls! I have always known that we have a group of very talented ladies, but even I was amazed at the quality of merchandise offered for sale. The competition was fierce for the silent auction items as well as the live auction (won by Gayle Currie) of a beautiful shel creation by the Old Man of the Sea (Fred Smith). A big THANK YOU to Fred who not only created the unusual items that Donna sold, but gifted us al with a sea bug, and donated the proceeds from the live auction back to our group. I managed to win the silent auction for Mṣ Hoot and her peț Poot, but it was touch and go. A couple of other generous vendors (who wish to remain anonymous) also donated their proceeds. Mistress Moneybags (Renae Crouch) was happy to report that we added $152.00 to our Fun Fund. My only regret is that I ran out of money before I could buy everything I wanted there was so much to choose from. Peggy s Rag Bags were a selout as were Renae s beautiful handmade pilows. Betty s paintings were awesome as were the beautiful hand-painted eggs that Brenda sold, not to mention her paintings. Caroline Richter had some of the cutest doggie duds I have ever seen, and Barbara Redlinger was selling what everyone needs more of Red Hat jewelry! Gayle Currie sold cute hand-crocheted Red Hat pin cushions, and Sharon Beltz sold beautiful, lighted, glass Christmas boxes. I m not sure what she called them, but I bought two. After shopping ourselves into a state of exhaustion, we managed to stuff ourselves with two kinds of delicious cake provided by our hostess. It was a grand time! If you weren t there, we missed you, and you missed a whole lot of fun. Shopped Out! Queenie Jeanne IMPORTANT NOTICE Pat s Party at Copperfield is scheduled for twelve noon, Saturday, August 6. I will be sending out an email Tuesday, July 28, with final details of this event so be sure to check your email. SEE YOU IN COPPER- FIELD! Girls, don t forget to visit our very own message board at the SASBA red hat page! If you have trouble, call Gayle!
