Stallions, as indicated on the entry form, will receive priority, stable requests will be given consideration but please understand we are not able to meet all stabling requests. Use of stables not allocated and paid for prior to the show by ANY Competitor, horse or owner, will result in the rider being disqualified from the show. Should you have any stable problems please contact the Durban Shongweni Club RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: The Show Holder exclusively and in their sole discretion reserve the right to accept or reject entries, without reason, which decision shall be binding and there shall be no right of recourse. VARIATION OF PROGRAMME: The advertised programme and classes will be adhered to as far as possible. However the Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel, combine, divide or postpone any class within the frame work of Rules. In case of bad weather competitors must contact the organisers on the contact details provided above. Refunds for cancellation will be made after deducting administration levy to cover direct costs. No refunds will be given for classes postponed to another date. SADDLERY & DRESS: As per DSA Rules RIDING TIMES: KZN Newsflash will be sent to the KZN members on our database by 19 th September 2017. Riders will be required to move up riding times to fill in scratching s in the class. The onus is on the competitor to check the final starting order before the start of the class. SHOW NUMBERS: Will be allocated and published and this number must be attached to the LEFT-HAND SIDE of the halter/head collar and/or to the numnah / Bridle EXERCISING & WARM-UP: The three sand dressage arenas on the bottom field are open for warm up. There is a sand warm up arena on the main field near the pond. The main warm up arena will also be open for warm up. Grass field also open for warm up. COMPETITION ARENA: These will be closed from 12h00 on the 22 nd September for DSC to water, prepare and setup. DRUG TESTING: DSA reserve the right to sample for prohibited substances from any horse or rider at this event.
PASSPORT: All horses entered in this show must have fully completed SAEF / SAEA or FEI passports. Passports must accompany the horse. Competitors whose passports are not up to date or incomplete (including vaccinations) will be fined per DSA / SAEF regulations. AHS & EQUINE FLU: All horses must be vaccinated with AHS vaccine and with Equine Influenza and in accordance with the regulations laid out in the equestrian rules. Horses that do not comply may be refused permission to compete and can be asked to leave the show grounds. CONDUCT: Any owner, instructor or rider who attempts to interfere with or influence judges, officials or stewards, or who at any time on the show grounds uses any contemptuous or abusive language to any of the judges, officials or stewards will forfeit his/her rights to any prizes to which they might otherwise be entitled. INDEMNITY RESPONSIBILITY: KZN DRESSAGE, SAEF, DSA, DURBAN SHONGWENI CLUB, EQUISTAR SHOWS, Sponsors, Officials and Stewards shall in no way be held responsible for any damage, loss, theft or injury sustained by owners of horses, riders, competitors, members of the public or any other person or their property whatsoever. PRIZE MONEY & PRIZES: Rosettes only. NOTES: 1. Tests and size of arenas as per current and DSA rule books. 2. All SAEF AND DSA Dressage Rules will apply. 3. No dogs allowed unless on a leash 4. Horses may not be lunged in the warm up arena, or near the competition arenas, under penalty of disqualification. 5. Competitors must comply with Section 33 of the Rule Book in terms of equipment used to warm up. Competitors riding stallions must have consideration for others when warming up or they will be asked to move away. No galloping of horses or inconsiderate behaviour will be tolerated in any of the warm up areas PLEASE SHOW CONSIDERATION. 6. No abusive or aggressive treatment of any horse or officials will be tolerated and the warning card system will be enforced 7. No-one other than the person entered to compete on a horse at the show may ride the horse from the 1st day of the start of the show until the end of your classes for the show. 8. No cross entering of grades for Adults and juniors below medium is allowed unless otherwise stated on the schedule. 9. Hard hats must to be worn at all times whilst mounted. 10. All competitors/riders who are not fully paid up Equestrian Members of the Durban Shongweni Club are subject to a Temporary Membership fee of R200 for the duration of the show. This is a legal requirement and is compulsory for all non members and members with fees outstanding.
