OXFORDSHIRE & NORTH BUCKIINGHAMSHIRE July 2012 Regional update Competition Update Regional Winter Championships 2012 Aldershot booked 1 st / 2 nd December 2012 and the competition will be swum short course There will be no parking outside the pool but ample opposite (not at the hockey or tennis venues) There will be permission to unload at the pool. Talk of resurrecting the sh Short Course Championships, continues, possibly in 2013, more likely 2014. sh Championships in 2013 are likely to be the last weekend in March (Easter) tbc Facilities Overview Aylesbury Vale Working with Aylesbury Vale to ensure that certain elements have been highlighted in the tender document for the new contract at the Aylesbury Pools Wycombe (I know it is outside of the area) Supporting Wycombe with the design on the new pool to ensure that it meets the competition standards that we require. Milton Keynes Supporting the club and the Council to provide advice and guidance over the Stantonbury Pool. South Oxfordshire Council Supporting the Council on the redevelopment of pools in the Didcot area Vale of White Horse Supporting the Council over possibility of increasing water space in the Wantage Area. Swim 21 Abingdon Vale SC, Banbury SC & Bicester Blue Fins SC, revalidation submissions were recommended for approval by the Regional Panel. The National Panel meeting has been moved to 11 th July. Official confirmation of revalidation will be received following the National Panel. City of Oxford SC is submitting for accreditation at the August Regional Panel meeting. Wantage White Horses SC is due to submit for reaccreditation at the August Regional Panel / September National Panel. The submission deadline is Friday 27 th July. Maxwell SC is due to revalidate at the August Regional Panel meeting, submission deadline 27 th July. If clubs would like to submit for accreditation/reaccreditation or revalidation online, please note you can now obtain your club password from Helen Mack on Helen.mack@freedom-leisure.co.uk 2012 Swim 21 Dates Deadline for File Regional Panel National Panel Submission Friday 27 July Thursday 16 August Wednesday 26 September Friday 26 October Thursday 15 November Wednesday 12 December selected by the South East Region to progress to the National Panel meeting on 11 th July. For the level 2 course we really need County, Regional and National swimmers. What is Club Leaders? The Club Leaders project aims to train and support leaders of sports clubs just like you, in the business of running a club. This national project is part of the Sport England s Places People Play Olympic legacy programme and is completely free of charge. The overall aim is to help sports leaders become more successful and sustainable.
