Newsletter Volume 47 - Issue 11 November, 2013 Officers: President............. Glen Bailey 316-721-5518 Vice President........ Ron Boswell 316-684-7951 Secretary........... Daryl Burbach 316-721-9377 Treasurer............. Gary Jones 316-946-9320 Officer at Large....... Mike McKee 316-806-3531 N.C.C.C. Governor.. Travis Pearson 316-722-6686 Newsletter Editor...... Kent Michael 316-682-4403 ACCC s Web Page. http://aircapitalcorvetteclub.com Message from the Prez... The club would like to thank Ron Boswell for leading the October drive and eat. We had a good turnout and the food was excellent. In the news: Chevrolet claims 10th ALMS manufacturer Championship and Team Corvette, Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen closed the American Le Mans Series by winning the GT Championship at Petit Le Mans. No. 10 Corvette DP (Daytona Prototype) driven by Max Angelelli and Jordan Taylor capture the 2013 Rolex Series Championship. Jeff Gordonís #24 win at Martinsville in his Chevrolet, locks up the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Manufacturer championship. Chevrolet has won its 11th consecutive NASCAR season and 37th overall manufacturer championship. It s good to be on the winning side. What a great year for Chevrolet and Corvette not to mention the unveiling of the new C7 which will take to the track next spring for team corvette. The question is, will the new C7R be yellow? There are three open spots to fill with Mike, Daryl and myself leaving the eboard. Nominees will be voted on at the November meeting. Your vote won t count unless your there to cast it. We are accepting $45 membership renewals no later than the November Business Meeting. Please mail-in or bring your renewal forms and payments to the November meeting, so we don t have to call you. I want to thank Marsha Battaglear and Louise Michael for the work they did to create and implement the Gimmick Rally. 15 cars participated and the results have Andy and Jess Michael taking 1st place. There was a 4-way tie for second which included Dallas & Kerry Keller, Steve & Marsha Clark, Sara & Angie Crigler and Wendy Rios & Tracy Robles. The club would also like to thank Barb and Dale Brotton for organizing the Halloween party. An estimated 62 people were in attendance. Also like to thank the other people that help set up and clean up afterwards. The best woman costume went to Karen Geis as a zipper face Gould. The best Man costume went to Rick Cain as a pregnant cigar smoking Nun. The best couple custom went to Larry and Cindy Webster dressed as a cowboy and saloon girl. The best pumpkin carving was a C7 stingray logo. As always, if you have any ideas for club events or places to go, please share them with me or an E-Board member. Glen Bailey, ACCC President Page 1
