TEE TALK Pitt Meadows Golf Club Dates to Remember: St. Patrick s Day March 17th First Men s Night March 28th Wine Club Event Agent s Night March 30th Tuesday Ladies ing Day Scramble April 3rd Easter Brunch April 8th Table of Contents: From The Board 1 of Directors Pro Shop 2 Referral Program 2 Business Profile 3 Social Media / 4 Facebook Wine Club 4 Agents Night Communication 4 Calendar 5 March 2012 From the Board of Directors Just when we think we re ready for some spring weather it snows. Cooler than usual weather seems to be hanging around keeping our golf aspirations at bay. A few items to report since our last newsletter and the February mid-month update (twog) from our General Manager. On the golf course the crew is continuing work on cleaning out main-line drains on the back nine. The work, for the most part, is being performed in-house by our staff with a few specialized tasks to be undertaken by contractors. The current drainage work is focused on the larger lines and as time permits during the season, the crew will be adding feeder lines in our problem areas. Overall this is a fairly large ongoing project that will take some time to realize the benefits of the work. It is a very important step to improving the condition of the golf course and is a high priority. Members that opened the first Twog of the year had access to some video of this work and it has received some pretty good feed-back. They appreciate the close-up view and the opportunity to get a better general understanding of the project. We can look forward to a continuation of this type of communication throughout the year. The staff is also just completing work on an access portal to the website for mobile devices. There is more information on this feature in another section of this newsletter. Around the club there are a number of things to look forward to in March & early April. The first Men s night is on the 28 th and will feature the Pitt Pot now at an amazing $16,000. It should be noted that the Pitt Pot is now capped at that amount and going forward, until it is won, all entry fees for it will now be going towards the prize pool for the next one. The Ladies opening Scramble takes place on April 3 rd with their Spring meeting this year a bit later, May 1 st. The Wine Club is holding their popular Agent s Night on the 30 th. This always sells out so be sure to make a reservation with Julian or Julie. The Club is also going to build on the popular Patio Events this year by starting a Summer Series on the Patio including the Lobster Night. Mike Pierce & Julian are asking members to participate in an online poll to get your thoughts on themes for these patio parties. Visit the member s section of the website to take the poll. In closing, we suggest that you encourage any prospective members to get in touch with Laurie Shong for information on some of the great specials we are offering on Entrance Fees early in the year. Now let s get ready for a fine season of golf. Page 1
