Welcome to the Steeple Ridge Farm Horse Show Series 2018. This is our first-year affiliating with VHSA, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone and joining the VHSA horse show series. If it is your first time with us, we welcome you. If you are returning, we thank you for your continued support. In this omnibus, you will find everything you need for the 2018 Horse show season at Steeple Ridge Farm, LLC. This year we will be associating with two horse show series, VHSA and VHJA, we are combining more jumping classes for all levels at VHSA horse shows here at Steeple Ridge. All of our shows in 2018 with VHSA will be single judged shows, we will also be having our food truck here, with plenty of food to choose from! *DOGS ARE ALLOWED BUT, ON A LEASH* We will be holding two shows this year that are Steeple Ridge Farm, LLC pointed. You must attend at least one of the two shows for your points to count for year- end awards. We will be holding a small end of year banquet with handing out many trophies, special awards, and ribbons based on points accumulated at the shows attended. More details will follow. *Champion, Reserve and First place placings receives a prize from our prize table* Please dispose of all trash in the provided bins. All glass, plastic, and cans go in the blue bins. All trash in garbage bins. Do not clean out your trailers in the parking area. This is also our pasture. Children s Equitation O/F (2 6 ) ASTM/SEI approved helmets are required for all riders 18 and under when mounted/driving regardless of seat. This is a Steeple Ridge grounds rule. Approved helmets for every rider in any type of jumping class. Helmets are strongly encouraged for adult riders too!

Jumping Classes Equitation Over Fences Open to Junior, Senior and Adults only. Fence Height will be 2'0"-2'3" *In all classes - 3 refusals means automatic disqualifications. No ribbon to be awarded. Jr/Adult Novice Hunter Classes Open to juniors/adults who have not competed over 2 6 in the past two years, Simple changes are acceptable, No more than 8 entries to canter at once. Minimum course of 6 fences Children s Equitation O/F For riders under 18 years of age who in the previous year have not competed over 3 fences or higher. Minimum course of 6 fences not to go over 2 6. No in an out. Pre-Children s O/F For riders in their junior year and still qualify to be a novice rider or straight out of novice division, to be shown over 6-8 fences no larger than 2 3 in height. Open Classes New Beginner Ages 10 and under, or any age rider with disabilities, all seats. Rider may be accompanied by an assistant who is at least 14 years old into the ring. Walk, limited trot. Will be judged on ability to complete the class with as little verbal assistance as needed. Will be penalized for needing hands on help. Equitation is based on rider s seat, hands, legs and ability to control the horse. Pleasure is based on the horse s ability to give a pleasurable ride. Horsemanship will be 50% rail work (equitation combined with pleasure) 50% knowledge (judge will ask at least 2 questions). Discipline Rail is based on the rider who makes the least mistakes after a series of commands are given. Green Horse/Pony A walk, trot/jog only division. Riders 19 and over only Open Driving Reinsmanship This class is open to all horses and ponies. Judged as an equitation class on hands, proper harnessing and hitching, and correct driving techniques. Driver should be able to change gaits quickly, smoothly, and unobtrusively while always maintaining contact and using correct driving techniques. 90% on handling of reins and whip, control, posture, and overall appearance of the driver. 10% on proper harnessing and hitching, condition of harness and vehicle, and neatness of attire. -All drivers will execute a posted pattern, one at a time. After all entries have done their patterns, the miniature horses/ small ponies (all 48" and under) will come in and do rail work. They will then line up in the middle and large ponies and horses will come in and do their rail work. All entries will be pinned as one class. Champion & Reserve Champion is awarded to the persons in each division receiving the highest points received with same horse same rider of the day. Must have shown / placed in more than 3 classes within that division to receive prize. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current VHSA, USEF (or other) Rule Books and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Check in with secretary prior to show starting for measuring. Indoor and large outdoor available at all times for schooling in addition to main ring whenever a class is not in session.

You must call in advance to reserve a stall. Stalls have full doors and are not available until after 5:00 pm on Friday. Stalls must be cleaned before leaving on Saturday. Shavings and Hay can be purchased from facility for $5.00/shaving or hay bale. Entries must include cash or check paid in full, copy negative coggins & rabies (within 12 months), copy of registration papers (only needed in color breed class where papers are needed to prove they are a color breed). NO PHONE entries. If no payment is made than it is considered a post entry. Checks will have a $30.00 returned check fee Class fees: $10.00 per class X Post entry fee: $ 12.00 for day Stall Fee: $ 30.00 for the day Total class fee: $ 60.00 for the overnight Office Fee: $10.00 per horse/rider entry $10.00 Grand Total: Warning: Under Vt.
