Road Trip Report Tonight marks the conclusion of San Jose s seven-game road trip. The Giants are 4-2 thus far on their road trip taking two games in Modesto last Sunday and Monday before winning two out of three versus Lancaster in a series that concluded on Thursday San Jose s first series win since claiming two of three at Stockton from April 21-23. The Giants then dropped the opening game of the current series to the Nuts last night. The Nuts collected 10 hits, scored in five different innings and never trailed en route to the series-opening triumph. Bryan Reynolds (2-for-3) had a pair of singles and Heath Quinn (1- for-4, 2 RBI) drove home two runs to lead the Giants offensively in defeat. San Jose starter Mark Reyes suffered the loss after yielding six runs (five earned) over five-plus innings of work. Reyes walked a season-high six batters and struck out two. Modesto had the leadoff batter reach base in seven out of their eight innings in the contest. Matt Festa picked-up the win with four scoreless innings of relief. Festa retired 11 out of the 12 batters he faced. Offensive Surge Over the first six games of the road trip, the Giants are batting.336 as a team with 43 runs scored (7.2 per game) and 77 hits. San Jose hit just.209 and averaged 3.0 runs/game in their previous 12 contests (2-10 record). The Giants have hit nine home runs on the road trip to raise their season HR total to 46 second in the league (Stockton 47). Home Vs. Road The Giants currently own a 14-13 record on the road this season. By comparison, San Jose is just 6-16 at home the worst home record in the California League.
