IMR CHALLENGE SERIES 2018/2019 SEASON RULES AND DRIVER PACKAGE
NEW AND NOTEWORTHY FOR 2018/2019 * A DYNO WILL BE PRESENT ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12TH BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9AM AND 6PM. IT WILL BE MANDATORY FOR ALL RACE GROUP CARS TO MAKE A RUN ON THE DYNO, NO EXCEPTIONS. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY AND TRY TO BE ONSITE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. * ALL RACE GROUP AND TIME ATTACK DRIVERS/RIDERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT THEMSELVES (OR DESIGNATED INDIVIDUAL), THEIR DRIVING/RIDING GEAR AND CAR/BIKE FOR A TECHNICAL AND SAFETY INSPECTION BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 3PM AND 6PM ON THE FRIDAYS PRIOR TO ALL RACE WEEKENDS. PLEASE PRINT OUT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS PROVIDED AT ONLINE REGISTRATION OR WE LL PROVIDE FOR YOU ONSITE. INSPECTION WILL BE MANDATORY, NO EXCEPTIONS. CARS WILL BE WEIGHED. * ALL SPEC RACE ATOM COMPETITORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO RUN HOOSIER R7 TIRES, NO EXCEPTIONS. * ALL SPEC 86 COMPETITORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO RUN NITTO NT01 TIRES, NO EXCEPTIONS. SPEC 86 RACE WINNERS WILL BE WEIGHED AFTER EACH RACE. * ALL GTM RACE CARS THAT FALL BETWEEN 8.5 TO 1 AND 9.5 TO 1 POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE COMPETING AS GTM-1. * ALL GTM RACE CARS THAT FALL BETWEEN 9.5 TO 1 AND 10.5 TO 1 POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE COMPETING AS GTM-2. * ALL CLOSED WHEEL RACE CARS THAT FALL BETWEEN 7.5 TO 1 AND 8.49 TO 1 POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE COMPETING AS GTO. * ALL CLOSED WHEEL RACE CARS THAT FALL BETWEEN 5.75 TO 1 AND 7.49 TO 1 POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE COMPETING AS GTU. * ALL CLOSED WHEEL RACE CARS OVER 10.5 TO 1 POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO WILL BE COMPETING AS GTL. * ALL COMPETITORS MAY ADD OR REMOVE WEIGHT AS NEEDED TO COMPLY WITHIN THE RULES AND DESIRED RACE CLASS. * ALL SATURDAY CLOSED WHEEL RACES WILL BE 40 MINUTES. * FAILURE TO RUN FORWARD AND REARWARD FACING CAMERAS IN ALL RACE GROUP CARS WILL RESULT IN A WARNING FOR FIRST INFRACTIONS AND A 10 POINT PENALTY FOR THE NEXT OR FUTURE INFRACTIONS. 360 CAMERAS WILL BE ALLOWED. * 1ST THROUGH 5TH PLACE RACE CARS, OVERALL, WILL BE WEIGHED DIRECTLY AFTER EACH RACE. * WE WILL BE IMPLEMENTING 2 ADDITIONAL RANDOM DYNO TESTS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THE SEASON TO ENSURE THAT ALL COMPETITORS ARE PLAYING WITHIN THE RULES AND SPIRIT OF THE SERIES.

ADDITIONALLY, ALL CLOSED WHEEL DRIVERS WILL BE COMPETING FOR AN OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR CLOSED WHEEL RACE CARS. *GTX WILL BE AN OPEN/UNLIMITED CLASS FOR THE RACE GROUP, OPEN WHEEL/OPEN COCKPIT: POINTS WILL BE AWARDED PER THE POINT SYSTEM ON THE LEFT. DRIVERS COMPETING IN OPEN WHEEL/OPEN COCKPIT RACE CARS WILL BE COMPETING FOR CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR FORMULA MAZDA, RADICAL, CAN AM, FORMULA FORD, FORMULA LITE AND VINTAGE. SHOULD ANY OTHER OPEN WHEEL/OPEN COCKPIT CLASSES MATERIALIZE THEY WILL BE ADDED TO THE IMR CHALLENGE SERIES PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY, ALL OPEN WHEEL/OPEN COCKPIT DRIVERS WILL BE COMPETING FOR AN OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR OPEN WHEEL/OPEN COCKPIT RACE CARS. POINT SYSTEM SPECIFICS: EVERY DRIVER WILL BE AWARDED AN ADDITIONAL FIVE POINTS FOR TAKING A GREEN FLAG. EVERY DRIVER IS ENTITLED TO DROP THEIR TWO WORST FINISHES AND/OR NO SHOWS FOR THE SEASON. A DISQUALIFICATION WILL RESULT IN ZERO POINTS FOR THE RACE. A DISQUALIFICATION CANNOT COUNT AS A WORST FINISH AND/OR NO SHOW AND EXCLUDES THE FIVE POINTS FOR TAKING A GREEN FLAG. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR SPEC BRZ/FRS (SPEC 86) DRIVERS MAY GET THEIR OWN SEPARATE RACE STARTS.
SERIES SPECIFIC RULES AND PROCEDURES THE RACES WILL ADHERE TO THE WIDELY KNOWN, ACCEPTED AND EFFECTIVE 2018 NASA CCR REGULATIONS, www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf. THE FOLLOWING RULES AND CHANGES ARE SPECIFIC PLEASE TAKE NOTE. WHITE FLAG - ONE LAP TO GO CROSSED GREEN AND WHITE FLAGS - HALF WAY RACE DISTANCE POLE SITTER - CHOOSES HIS OR HER STARTING LANE NO MECHANICAL FLAG - WE WILL USE THE BLACK FLAG FOR BOTH CONDUCT AND MECHANICAL RED FLAG - RETURN TO PIT LANE AT 10MPH A MANDATORY SET OF TWO CAMERAS ARE REQUIRED PER CAR, ONE FORWARD-FACING AND ONE REAR-FACING. A TWO POINT DEDUCTION PER RACE MAY BE ASSESSED FOR MISSING OR MALFUNCTIONING CAMERAS. THESE CAMERAS MAY BE USED IN DETERMINING AT FAULT DURING A RACING INCIDENT. MEMORY CARDS MUST BE PROVIDED BY ALL DRIVERS TO THE RACE DIRECTOR FOLLOWING A RACE WHERE AN ON TRACK INCIDENT OCCURS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE INCIDENT INVOLVES ONE OR MULTIPLE CARS. RACE PENALTIES ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR AND REVIEW BOARD AND WILL BE ENFORCED DURING AND AFTER A RACE ACCORDINGLY. IF AN ON TRACK INCIDENT OCCURS AND NEEDS FURTHER REVIEW, OFFENDED DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPILING ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION WHICH WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY VIDEO, WRITTEN TESTIMONY AND EYE WITNESSES TO PRESENT TO THE IMR REVIEW BOARD. THIS EVIDENCE WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BY THE IMR REVIEW BOARD AND DETERMINING DECISIONS MADE ACCORDINGLY. THE IMR REVIEW BOARD WILL CONSIST OF A GROUP OF THREE FELLOW MEMBERS WHO HAVE ACCEPTED THIS RESPONSIBILITY. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN COMPLETE OBJECTIVITY, THEY WILL NOT BE KNOWN TO DRIVERS. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP SHALL BE HELD TO A HIGH STANDARD AT ALL TIMES. THIS INCLUDES NO YELLING, COMPLAINING OR DEMEANING REMARKS OR ACTIONS TOWARDS FELLOW RACERS, IMR STAFF, SPECTATORS AND GUESTS. POSTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA MADE BY A DRIVER OR ASSOCIATE OF A DRIVER THAT REFLECT POORLY ON FELLOW DRIVERS, MEMBERS, THE IMR CHALLENGE SERIES AND THE IMR STAFF WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. OFFENSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS MAY RESULT IN POINTS DEDUCTIONS, PROBATION AND/OR A DISMISSAL FROM THE. THE IS A CLUB RACING SERIES WHERE VEHICLE CONTACT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. DRIVERS MUST MAKE THEIR BEST EFFORTS TO AVOID CONTACT AT ALL TIMES. IF MORE THAN ONE ON TRACK INCIDENT OCCURS WITH ANY PARTICULAR DRIVER THEY MAY BE PLACED ON PROBATION, DISQUALIFIED AND/OR DISMISSED FROM THE SERIES.
