Dear Charger Nation, Congratulations to our girls volleyball team on earning a trip to the WIAA Division 2 State Volleyball Tournament! By winning the Sectional Championship match on Saturday evening, they have earned a trip to compete for the State Title in Titletown! The State Semifinal match against Little Chute is at 4:00pm on Friday, November 2 nd, at the Resch Center, in Green Bay. A win on Friday will put our team into the State Championship game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (If they should lose Friday, they would NOT play on Saturday). We are hoping for an amazing turnout of Charger fans to come support our volleyball team, as they continue their sensational post-season Charge to State! Important Volleyball State Details Early Release School will be released at 12:42 on Friday, November 2 nd, 2018. Please note that hot lunch will be served during the school day. Transportation While we hope many students will attend the tournament match(es), they are under no obligation to attend. KML will provide a student fan bus, open to KML students only. On Tuesday, after chapel, a Google Form will be sent out to all KML students. All sign-ups are final. Students should check their email after chapel has concluded. The bus fee for riding is $5 per student, and student accounts will be charged (no cash accepted). The student fan bus will leave KML on Friday afternoon at 1:00pm. Students who ride the student fan bus to the given game must ride the bus back, as well. Exceptions will only be made if a parent is attending the given game; and if the parent speaks to Mr. Luehring, or Mr. Greefkes in person at the given match. Students riding the bus will be dropped off directly at the door. Student riding the bus MUST purchase their own tickets, for admittance (see ticketing for more information). All students riding the bus to the volleyball match, will promptly be loading after the game, and will head directly to the soccer game in Milwaukee. All students riding the bus MUST attend both volleyball and soccer. It is difficult to predict an exact return time, but an estimate is that the bus will return to KML between 9:30 and 10:00pm. Students who are given permission by their parents to drive, or ride with other students, should be aware that there is a charge for parking in Green Bay (see parking section for more information), and that parking may be challenging (in both distance from the Resch Center and overall availability). The school will not be involved with or responsible for any rides and riding arrangements other than for the student fan bus, which the school is providing.
Parking/Access Parking is $6 for cars. All fans should park in the Lambeau Field parking lot on Oneida Street. Doors will open approximately 1 hour prior to the start of each session. Patrons will be required to pass through metal detectors at the door (see attached information for forbidden items). There are parking spaces available on a first come basis for spectators with disabilities. These spots are in the Gold Lot off Armed Forces Drive. See attached information for helpful parking maps. Ticket Information Tickets are available for purchase @https://www.wiaawi.org/tickets.aspx, or can be purchased in-person at the Resch Center. Tickets purchased online are $10 per ticket and tickets purchased at the Resch Center are $8 per ticket. Children 6 and under are $1 per ticket. All tickets are general admission, and no special block is reserved for our school. We are HIGHLY encouraging our fans to purchase tickets online to avoid potentially long lines at the Resch Center. Students riding the fan bus WILL need to purchase their own tickets for the game. Again, online purchasing is recommended. When our ladies win on Friday, those who are in attendance can purchase tickets for Saturday s match after Friday s winning match (in-person, or online). KML Charging to State Shirts KML State T-Shirts are $10 and are available for purchase exclusively online, starting on Monday. A link will be emailed out to all students, faculty/staff, and will be made available to the general public through our athletic website and social media avenues for easy sharing with family and friends. In order to get our shirts for distribution on Thursday, November 1 st, our online store will close for shirt production at 12:00pm on Tuesday, October 30 th. All purchases will be by credit card only, student account charging is not an option. Shirts will be available for pick up during lunch on Thursday, after Thursday s Pep Rally, and Friday during lunch. Pep Rally KML will be sponsoring a State Send-off Pep Rally on Thursday, November 1 st, from 2:12-2:45pm. All are invited to attend in the gymnasium! As mentioned, shirts will be available for pick-up in the cafeteria, after the Pep Rally.
We hope to epitomize excellent sportsmanship, as we Charge to a WIAA D2 State Championship, yet athletic victory is not our only, nor primary, goal. We pray that Charger Nation would use this excellent opportunity as a platform to impact others through the Gospel message, and further enjoy joint fellowship as part of the greater KML Family! Psalm 96:3- Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. Please contact Mr. Joe Greefkes at joe.greefkes@kmlhs.org, or Mrs. Amy Nass, amy.nass@kmlhs.org should you have any questions.
