Youth Judging Event For many years the Smith Mountain Lake Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society has hosted our annual Youth Judging Event. This event is open to youth ages 7-11 and is free thanks to Hagerty Insurance who sponsors this event each year. Participants will receive a shirt and hat as a souvenir for their participation in the judging and each judge will have the opportunity to vote for his or her choice for the boat they think most deserves the show s Youth Judging Award. Before the judging begins, the children will receive basic instruction on how to judge a boat and what to look for in determining the winning boat. This entire event will be under the supervision of our Adult Youth Judging Committee. The purpose of this event is to encourage our young folks to learn the hobby and to help preserve the legacy of the antique and classic boats. If you would like to participate, please make your desires known by checking the Youth Judging Event on the main show application form. Participants are requested to arrive at the registration tent not later than 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019. We thank you for your interest in our Youth Judging Event and look forward to your participation.
