GPMC NEWS The Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club Newsletter Visit our website at www.gpmc.org Volume 25 Issue 8 August 2010 The next meeting will be held on August 1 at the Monroeville Community Park during the Hospitality Picnic. See Map and Details on page 5 Greetings Pony Lovers Can-Am weekend is now in the history books. The GPMC was well represented by six cars. Forty-four cars were registered overall, for one of the best recent Can-Am turnouts. Mahoning Valley Mustangs put on a great weekend. The cruise Friday night, tour and dinner on Saturday, and garage tour on Sunday were all top notch. All the clubs are looking forward to when the GPMC hosts the event next year. Mark your calendars now - the tentative date is the last weekend in June, the 24 th -26 th. The Club s turnout for Mustang Night at the Starlite Cruise on June 16 th was amazing. We had 15 spots reserved in feature row, but managed to squeeze in 21. We ll be back at Starlite on Aug. 6 th for our service night, when we volunteer to help run the show. The Club s two cruises this summer will be on July 23 rd and August 20 th at King s Family Restaurant in Harmarville. If you re able to volunteer, please contact Dwight Hutton or Ed Saitz. As you read this, many members will be enjoying Pgh Vintage Grand Prix race weekend. We ve reserved two Patron Parking spots on Sunday, July 25 th. We ll have canopies set up for those who want to come and watch the race. Just bring a chair and your enthusiasm. The Club will also have our tent set up at the International Car Show on the 24 th and 25 th. Even though on the warm side, the July meeting at Monroeville Community Park was very pleasant. We ll be back there on Aug. 1 st for our Hospitality Picnic and August meeting. Contact ValJean Rossmann if you re planning on coming. I look forward to seeing you at one of our many upcoming events over the next couple months. Keep those motors runnin, Ken

July 23 is first car cruise at King s in Harmarville and August 20 is the second. We need volunteers for the club tent at the Vintage Gran Prix during the International car show on July 24; on July 25 our patron tent will be available for all members to use. August 1 is our Hospitality Picnic at Monroeville Park. August 6 is GPMC service night at Starlite; volunteers are needed in the afternoon and evening; there is reserved parking in back of the church for volunteers. New Business: Ken received a call from Dave Anderson who does cars on t-shirts and he asked if any members wanted him to take a picture of their car for flyers. ValJean received a call from a company doing a national commercial, looking for a 97-07 blue or green gt. John Reisz is the only member with that car so his car may be in the commercial. Question was asked, when does someone actually become a member. At the time they pay, at next meeting, immediately. By-laws will be checked and discussion will be held at the next meeting. Can Am was a success. Mahoning Valley Club did a very good job hosting. Next year we will be hosting so we need to form committees ASAP. Will need different members in charge of each event. Tentative date for Can Am is June24-26, 2011. Mahoning Valley Club is planning a trip to Frick and dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. Dwight Hutton will get more info if some of our members want to join them. Old Business: Hospitality Picnic is August 1 at Monroeville Park. ValJean is in charge and has a signup sheet for items members can bring. 50/50 won by Cheryl Vitale Next meeting is August 1 at Monroeville Park.
