We finally started warming up and traffic at the pool has picked up. Although we are still down about 20% in pool membership from '08. Golf appears to be settling in with 2% decrease from last year. Total Lodge membership, at press time, has stayed consistent with 2008 and we should keep our total membership right at 600. Congratulations to Brian Mitchell who recruited three new Elk members this year and consequently was credited for his 2009/2010 dues. July will be another busy month with the holiday as well as several activities at the Lodge. The first weekend we will celebrate our Nation's 233rd birthday. We have private parties the next two weekends and July finishes with our Hit and Giggle event. Check the details later in the bulletin. The July 11th party is the wedding reception of our long time employee Liz Childers. Liz will then be moving to Texas with her new husband. Liz has been at Lodge 590 for over seven years. She has set a service standard that all our members can be proud of. Take a moment to congratulate and thank her before she leaves. All American Buffet Friday, July 3rd, Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th we will have our All American Buffet set-up in the Lodge. We will serve from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. There will be no menus on these days as well as no Friday dinner. The buffet will include burgers, brats, hot dogs, chicken breasts, BBQ ribs, chips, salads, fruit, brownies and all the condiments. The price will be $8.95 for adults, $4.95 for kids 6 to 12, and youngsters five and under are free. The price does not include drinks.
