Golf Maintenance Update 1 > We feel the overseeding application procedure was successful and the results have been very positive. Seed was applied to the tees, fairways, and greens on the Watson and Palmer courses. Overseed was spread on all the turfgrass playing areas on the Nicklaus course. The grass has continued to mature over the last several weeks enhancing the texture and color of the courses. 2 > We are also pleased with the response on our greens with our improved fertilization program and regular topdressing. Our strategy going forward will be to continue and increase cultural practices on our turf areas. The primary practice we need to increase is aerification. 3 > By increasing the amount of times we are able to loosen up the soil will greatly improve the turf conditions. As the courses continue to age the amount of organic material is building up making it more difficult for water and nutrients to move through the soil profile. This is one reason we are seeing an increase in wet areas throughout the courses. With some good old fashion cultural practices the grass will look healthier than ever. 4 > A couple of new additions to our courses includes three sabal palm trees on #1 Palmer. The palms were placed in the location of a large oak tree that died and had to be removed. 1 2 3 5 > We were also lucky to have been able to work with capillary concrete on building a stack bunker at the driving range chipping bunkers. This is a fairly new technique that includes the use of artificial turf to get the look of an old style links course bunker. Technically this style bunker will also perform very well under heavy weather conditions. 4 5 gatherings 3
Golf News Congratulations to the winners TWO MAN BEAT THE PRO The two man team of Eric Sargent and Jubal Jerik posted a team score of 68 for our nine teams of members to beat. Seven teams ended up beating the score posted, and showed our pros who s in charge with a majority of our members leaving as winners! Thanks to all the gentlemen who came out to have fun with the staff and enjoy a couple of drinks on the new Nicklaus Clubhouse veranda! THE WIDE OPEN Eric, Matt and Alan were the pros that participated this year. Members placed bets to see which pros they would beat with some crazy pin locations. 29 out of the 45 bets placed by members were winners! A tough and crazy day on the course translated to a lot of shop credit for this event, so thank you to everyone who came out to test themselves and ring in the New Year! MULLIGANS, MANICURES & MARTINIS The ladies had a personal day away from the guys to have a fun event over at the Nicklaus Course. Our big winners were the teams of Brenda Rendleman and Janet D Entremont, with the gross score of 78, and on the net side of things, the dynamic duo of Eunice Oh and Jas Singh posted an incredible 59 on their way to victory. Prior to joining Reunion Resort, Eric work at Kissimmee Golf Club and various restaurants in the area in front of the house positions. Eric also holds a class A from the PGA of America and passionate about instruction and most recently served as First Assistant Golf Professional. Eric will work closely with the Director of Golf and Director of Food and Beverage to ensure the Nicklaus Clubhouse is a successful operation.

Monday, February 25 Member Social Epic Axe Throwing Downtown Orlando, 6:00 pm 10:30 pm Reservations required no later than Monday, February 18. Why settle for ordinary when you can do something EPIC! Epic Axe Throwing is all about having fun with a healthy dose of competition "thrown" in. Step outside your comfort zone and join us as we head out to the newest hot-spot in downtown Orlando for entertainment. What should I wear or bring? All axe throwers must wear closed-toed shoes, sign a waiver, and present a valid photo ID in order to throw. How heavy are the axes? The axes used are less than three pounds. Is it safe? Yes, the facility is designed with your safety in mind. The Axe Coaches provide safety training before and during all axe throwing sessions. What is the minimum age? Anyone 13 and up is allowed to participate. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All axe throwers must sign waivers in order to throw. The cost is $25 inclusive for Members ages 13 and up, and includes transportation to and from the venue, axe throwing instruction from a certified axe coach and designated throwing lanes. Limited to the first 35 Members to register to attend; a waiting list will be available for extended family and guests, who will be able to attend if space is available as of the deadline to register, at a cost of $35 inclusive. Light refreshments will be available for purchase at the venue. The bus will leave Reunion at 6:00 pm and return to Reunion at approximately 10:15 pm to 10:30 pm. FEBRUARY TENNIS From the Courts I am excited about the great start of 2019's tennis and pickleball program. All courts are set up with brand new LED lights and the clay courts are pristine and playing well. The tennis activity has continued to increase and pickleball is exploding. The first ever in-house pickleball league is starting February 1. Currently, there are eight ladies playing on Thursdays at 11 am, and eight gentlemen playing on Fridays at 11:00 am. All members are welcome to come and watch the exciting matchplay. We will have a Club tennis match on February 8 versus a visiting club, and on February 22 we will have a couples pickleball tournament! Also, please sign-up for the Reunion Tennis Team if you are interested It has been great being here at Reunion, and let s continue to grow and develop our tennis and pickleball program! You will be instructed for 25 to 30 minutes of line drills and ball hitting, followed by 30 to 35 minutes of fun, instructional-style games and drills. Mermaid Lessons* By Appointment Water Park Learn how to swim gracefully like a mermaid. Our instructor provides tips and tricks on how to swim with a tail. $30 per person, tails provided for use during class. Want to keep your mermaid tail?
