Fishing for Golden Dorado, one of the most voracious and beautiful species to swim the planet, takes place aboard a fleet of 16-foot Hell s Bay flats skiffs. LOCATION irá Lodge is located in the PCorrientes Province, in the middle of the 3,000,000 acre Iberá Wetlands. The Iberá Wetlands is a vast system of crystal- clear creeks, flowing rivers, shallows, and lakes. The deluxe purpose built lodge is located in beautiful virgin wilderness to target the freshwater Dorado. The lodge can be accessed by a 1 1 2 hour drive from Mercedes in the Corrientes Province. A lodge representative will make this transfer for you. Mercedes can be accessed by either overnight 1st class sleeper bus from Buenos Aires. The 1st class sleeper bus is a comfortable option that also makes the best use of your time. Day rooms in a hotel, an evening meal, and transport to the terminal can all be arranged on request. THE FISHING he freshwater Dorado is a hard Tfighting and acrobatic fish known for its strong runs and relentless jumps. Due to the clarity of the water, there is plenty of opportunity for sight casting. Rods: Ideal is to bring 2 sets of rods. 6-7 (9 ft.) weight rods are ideal for the marsh and 8 weight (9 ft.) are ideal for the head waters and Corriente River. Lines: floating lines and sinking heads. Flies: traditional saltwater streamers, as well as deceivers in black, purple, chartreuse, and white. Fishing schedule: A typical fishing day will start in the morning and go from 8:00 to 12:30, lunch at the lodge, and then afternoon fishing from 3:30 to 7:30. Fishing times vary depending on month and climate. Guides are equipped with boga grips and will assist guests in weighing and releasing fish, without harming them.
