SUMMER VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE 2018 This Info packet will give you all of the information, dates, locations and opportunities your volleyball skills and knowledge before High School tryouts on August 8 th, 2018 (*Middle the Winter). available to sharpen School Tryouts are in Beach Volleyball: We have had huge success in entering Middle and High school teams in the Bay City Beach Volleyball Leagues. This League is NOT run through Bangor Schools. It is a recreational sand league. There are no coaches or officials. Girls can make their own teams and play games once a week at Vet s Park Beach Volleyball Courts from the first week of June to the first week of August. I would suggest 6 people per team (4 play at a time and everyone rotates in). Parents are welcome to bring down a lawn-chair and watch the weekly games. See attached form for sign-up info. Open Gyms: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE LEVEL FOR EACH OPEN GYM. For example, on Mondays all levels grades 6-12 are welcome. On Wednesdays it is for 10-12 graders only and on Thursday evenings we will focus on our 6-10 graders. This allows players to interact with their own age and ability groups. All open gyms are at CMMS. Please drop off at side door closest to the football field. League: League is a controlled scrimmage for VARISTY PLAYERS or by invite only. These are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and rotate between Western and Central s gyms. Availability : We understand many girls play multiple sports, work or travel during the summer. We ask that you do your best to come to as many opportunities as you can. Cuts are made at each level and the more skills and experience you can bring to the tryouts, the better! Down time : There are two MHSAA mandated weeks during the summer that are free from practices and open gyms- a great time to take your vacation if you don t want to miss out on anything! * : July 1-7 th * : July 29-Aug 4 th Volleyball Camps : There are several volleyball camps for every position on the court. I would highly suggest taking advantage of some of our local university and colleges camps this summer. See attached flyers for further info.
