Christmas Shopping with Box Tops for Education!!! I just earned $7.30 for SAS today by shopping on the Box Tops Marketplace! How? I signed onto boxtops4education.com and chose SAS as the recipient school...then clicked on the green "Earn" link on the top right hand side of the page. I chose 2 popular stores from over 100 on the Marketplace list (I'd tell you which ones but my daughter reads the Eaglet too!) and just by purchasing items I was going to buy online anyway, I earned 50 Box Tops at one store and 23 at the other! That's a lot easier than clipping 73 Box Tops! Many of us do some Christmas shopping online. You can too! Just think...if each SAS family made just ONE online purchase thru Box Tops during the Christmas shopping season, we could TRIPLE our earnings. All the money earned through Box Tops is CASH for our wonderful school. Last year the money went toward playground equipment...this year we are going to let the children choose where they would like the money to go. Since the Marketplace relocates you to your favorite merchants, shopping is encrypted and safe. It's easy and feels so good to support SAS...please join me and earn some Box Tops! Happy shopping! Gift Card Program News Wow! Things are happening at GLScrip! Every week there is more good news to be spread! Many retailers are offering bonuses for the Christmas shopping season. PrestoPay offers convenient debit payment directly from your bank account. Several retailers including Gap, Starbucks and CVS, offer cards that are reloadable through shopwithscrip.com to keep earning credits toward your Parent Commitment without wasting plastic unnecessarily and without waiting for a new card! The latest and greatest is ScripNow! Online shopping at Amazon, Lands End or JCPenney and see something you need but the sale is about to end or the coupon is about to expire? Heading out to Home Depot or Lowe s for some home improvement supplies followed by dinner at Chili s or 99 Restaurant? Just visit shopwithscrip.com and have your ScripNow! certificates emailed to you for immediate use (payment via PrestoPay offers the quickest turn around for reloading and ScripNow!). What could be better than that? Not so good at planning ahead? No problem! ScripNow! alleviates the need for planning ahead with certain retailers and restaurants. Visit shopwithscrip.com and click on What s New for all the latest updates. Sign up with shopwithscrip.com and receive emails from GLScrip whenever new retailers are added to the program, bonuses are offered or new options are available to enhance your shopping experience. The program just keeps getting better and better! Don t miss out on this incredible opportunity to pay off that Parent Commitment painlessly! Want to know more? Visit the Gift Card Program table at the Bazaar tomorrow! I look forward to seeing you there and will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL EAGLET DECEMBER 23, 2010 What Child is this who, laid to rest On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing; Haste, haste, to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Why lies He in such mean estate, Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christians, fear, for sinners here The silent Word is pleading. Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, The cross be borne for me, for you. Hail, hail the Word made flesh, The Babe, the Son of Mary. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh, Come peasant, king to own Him; The King of kings salvation brings, Let loving hearts enthrone Him. A committee has been working hard to provide our students with a variety of activities during this special week. On Wednesday, February 2, we will celebrate our wonderful Earth with a special program, the Earth Dome, that will visit our school. In addition to this program, we are asking all students in Kindergarten through Grade Eight to complete a Recycle Project. Each student is asked to complete a project, art piece, game or any creative way of putting a household item to new use! All projects will be due in school on Tuesday, January 25th. Each project will be shared within the classroom. A winner from each grade level will be selected by creativity, usefulness and originality on February 2nd. Start now, encourage your child to RECYCLE, REUSE and RECREATE for Catholic Schools Week! After Christmas vacation, watch for more news from your child s classroom teacher as to suggestions, requirements as to projects. Many thanks for your support. Veterans Breakfast On the Tuesday of Catholic Schools Week, St. Anthony School is hosting a breakfast to honor the veterans in our parish and school community. The breakfast will be held on Tuesday, February 1st at 7:30. If you would like to attend this breakfast please RSVP to the office (860-379-7521) no later than January 14 th. We are also working on a Wall of Fame for our veterans, so if you have someone in mind to honor we will take their names, and/or pictures, to display on our wall at the breakfast. We thank all veterans for serving our country. Collect your aluminum beverage can tabs and submit them to Robin Dzurnak through school for donation to the Shriners and help a child in a Shriners Hospital for Children. If we keep up the pace, I believe we will make our ambitious goal of $1500! Hopefully, some of you did some Christmas shopping on the Box Tops Marketplace, and we're hoping that all of the Christmas cookie baking with Gold Medal flour and Land o' Lakes butter brings us lots of Box Tops after the holidays!
