Many of our members worked hard for many days and weeks in preparation. I know there has been much discussion about the proposed deck and how much MCC will spend in building the deck. Some of our members came to a BOD meeting with a presentation to raise money in hopes for a solution to the smoking area that did not include the clubhouse main entrance. Their presentation did not include any of MCC s financial resources and all construction would have to be approved by the BOD. The members making the proposal only asked for the opportunity to use their own time and other personal resources. Even though some of the BOD members may smoke, the BOD was unanimous in it s decision of moving and keeping the smoking area off of the front entrance. During the October 2015 general membership meeting the BOD had an optimistic message for our membership. In the face of unexpected events, primarily the flood and other weather related problems, our membership continues to grow. As of 3/31/2016 MCC had a total of 397 members of which 40 are junior members. MCC members continue to support the club and step forward when the need arises. Our tournaments continue to fill quickly and many of you utilize our club. As promised we have replaced the dining area HVAC, which has been a problem for several years. From the initial indications there will be no Budget Deficit Charge (BDC) for the first quarter of 2016, which is the 13 th consecutive quarter that we have not had to assess our membership. MCC will always have needs but hopefully with continued growth and utilization, the board can come up with an equitable membership for our full active membership starting in 2017 and that process will start in July 2016. Thank you for your continued support of our club. Steve Hillis President Maumelle Country Club Junior Golf News Summer is almost here and with it brings our Summer Junior Golf Development and Camps.
