Tournament Rules Tournament Rules: F.I.F.A. rules and guidelines apply. SCIS Exceptions to FIFA rules: Substitution Maximum of 6 substitutes are allowed per match. Clarification of substitution rulings: This entails that players must enter and leave the field at the half way line when signalled by the referee. Substituted players may re- enter the game. Discipline The Tournament Director will keep a precise record of all Yellow & Red card offences. A Red Card (even for a second yellow card) is an automatic one- match ban. The Tournament Director has the right to extend the punishment or ban a player from further participation altogether depending on the severity of the transgression. All Round Robin Games 3 pts will be awarded for a win, 1 pt. for a tie 0 pts. for a loss. Should there be a tie within a division no extra time will be played. Following any round robin should there be a tie between two or more teams, places will be determined as follows: Tie- break procedure: FIFA Law Following any round robin should there be a tie between two or more teams, places will be determined as follows: In all tie- break situations a maximum of plus or minus 6 goals per game may be counted. a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question; b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question; (Maximum of plus 6 goals difference per game) c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question; d) if, after having applied criteria a) to c), two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to c) are reapplied to determine the final ranking of the two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria e) to g) apply; e) superior goal difference from all group matches played; f) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played; g) penalty shoot- out will be held. Knock Out and final Games In all games where a result is necessary no extra time will be played and a penalty shoot- out will take place. The penalty shoot- out will be done as follows: a) Each team will nominate eleven (11) players, including a goalkeeper for each shoot out game. b) From the eleven (11) players, the team nominates five (5) penalty takers. c) A toss of a coin will decide the option to take the first penalty. d) Penalties will be taken alternately. A minimum of five (5) penalties must be taken by each side. If the scores are even at the end of the five (5) penalties, the score must be noted and a sudden death penalty shootout will begin. Only players not used in the original five (5) penalties can be used from the eleven (11) declared at the beginning of the shootout. This continues until one team wins on an equal number of shots.

SCIS REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS These regulations shall be followed by all students participating in Championships and other athletic events organized by the Sports Council for International Schools (SCIS). Any student who participates in an SCIS event agrees, by signing below, to obey the regulations. 1) Students shall obey all instructions given them by their host parents and their coaches as if these instructions were given to them by their own parents. This applies to all activities irrespective of location undertaken during the period of the Championship or competition. 2) Smoking, any other use of tobacco, the drinking of alcohol and the use of drugs are not permitted. 3) Housing arrangements made by the responsible official of the host school may not be changed. 4) High School students must be in the home of the host parent by the curfew hour set by the school. Middle School students are not allowed out of the host s care unless chaperoned by the host parent and/or the coach. (This applies for all the days of the visit). 5) Neither host families nor students may negotiate changes to the SCIS Regulations for Students with respect to curfew, housing arrangements, the use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs or any other rules or provisions set forth by the host school. 6) These regulations apply to all students: both those from the host school and those visiting throughout the competition s duration and, for visiting students, apply also during the journey to and from the site of the event. 7) Violation of these regulations will be reported to the responsible SCIS official and to the student s Head of School. The offending student will be removed from the Championship and from the host family home, and will either be placed under the direct supervision of his/her coach or sent home.
