Yorkson Ski Program was fun! by Ty Rosenke On the 3rd, 9th 16th and 23rd of February the members of the ski club got together and went to Cypress Mountain. Kids chose to go skiing or snowboarding. When they got to the mountain the instructors taught kids according to their ability. After the lesson you got free time and could ski/snowboard with your friends or eat dinner (I recommend the chili and fries). We left every time at 6:30 and took a coach bus back. When we would arrive back at the school everyone was pooped! It was a lot of fun so you should join next year! Book Review: Champion by Elise Domingo Summary: After parting in Prodigy, what will happen to June and Day? But more importantly, what is the Republic s fate? Find out all of the answers in Champion, the epic conclusion to the Legend Trilogy! Review: Champion is hands down the best conclusion to a dystopian series! Sadly, it s definitely not a Mockingjay ending. Luckily, it s not an Allegiant ending either! It s sort of in the mix. Anyways, 5 out of 5 star would be my rating of this book! If you ve read Legend and/or Prodigy, go to the library and hunt for this book on the shelves! I know that all of the Legend fans like me will grieve. On a brighter note, happy reading! THE WEST COAST WOLVES Issue #05 March 2016 Pink Shirt Day at Yorkson! Story by Disha Nihalani Photos by Karina Boganes As you all know we celebrate Pink Shirt Day to symbolize that we will not tolerate bullying anymore. The original event was organized by David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia, who in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a student, Charles McNeil, was bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school. Our school sold pink T- shirts that said Bully Free Starts with me and some classrooms posted Operation Beautiful sticky notes around the school that said nice messages about everyone. The message was clear: No matter what you wear or what you look like you are beautiful!
