Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act Rept Published October 15 th, 2013 Repting Year: August 1, 2012-July 31, 2013 The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act ( EADA ) Rept includes certain data relating to Ashfd University s intercollegiate athletic program, including the total amount and ratio of athletically related student aid awarded to male versus female athletes, expenses and revenues f men s and women s spts, coaches salaries, and individual spt participation infmation. The rept is available at www.ashfd.edu/eada. Individuals may request a paper copy of the rept by emailing athletics@ashfd.edu, and a copy will be mailed to you. Table 1: The following table represents the number of full-time degree-seeking undergraduates by gender that attended Ashfd University per the IPEDS fall 2012 enrollment survey. Number Male full-time undergraduates 19,587 Female full-time undergraduates 49,279 Table 2: The following table represents the total number of participants by gender f each varsity team that competed in intercollegiate athletic competitis of the day of the first scheduled contest during the repting year. This table also includes the number of participants who also participated nother varsity team and the number of other varsity teams on which they participated. Pursuant to federal regulations, participants are defined as students who, as of the day of a varsity team s first scheduled contest (A) are listed by the institution on the varsity team s roster; (B) receive athletically related student aid; (C) practice with the varsity team and receive coaching from one me varsity coaches. Any student who satisfies one me of these criteria is a participant, including a student team the institution designates defines as juni varsity, freshman, novice, a student withheld from competition to preserve eligibility (i.e., a redshirt), f academic, medical, other reasons. See 34 C.F.R. 668.47(b)(3). Pursuant to federal regulations, operating expenses are defined as all expenses an institution incurs attributable to home, away, and neutral-site intercollegiate athletic contests (commonly known as game-day expenses ) f (a) lodging, meals, transptation, unifms, and equipment f coaches, team members, suppt staff (including, but not limited to team managers and trainers), and others; and (b) officials. See 34 C.F.R. 668.47(b)(1)(ii). Pursuant to federal regulations, revenues are defined as revenues attributable to intercollegiate athletic activities. This includes revenues from appearance guarantees and options, an athletic conference, tournament bowl games, concessions, contributions from alumni and others, institutional suppt, program advertising and sales, radio and television, royalties, signage, and other sponsships, spts camps, state other government suppt, student activity fees, ticket and luxury box sales, and any other revenues attributable to intercollegiate athletic activities. See 34 C.F.R. 668.47(b)(5). 5

Table 8: The following table represents the amount of money spent thletically related student aid during the repting year. Pursuant to federal regulations, athletically related student aid is any scholarship, grant, other fm of financial assistance, offered by an institution, the terms of which require the recipient to participate in a program of intercollegiate athletics at the institution. Other student aid, of which a student-athlete simply happens to be the recipient, is not athletically related student aid. See 34 C.F.R. 668.41(a). This includes, but is not limited to, expenses f lodging, meals, telephone use, and transptation (including vehicles used f recruiting purposes) f both recruits and personnel engaged in recruiting, and other expenses f official and unofficial visits, and all other expenses related to recruiting.
