The Rays have won 5 of their last 7 games, on the heels of losing 4 straight games, 8 of 9 and 12 of 15 they were a season-high 7 games over.500 (51-44) through July 18, in second place in the AL East and only 2.0 GB of first-place Boston in the AL East since then, they are 14-23, dropping to 2 games under.500, fourth place and 9 GB of first. RH Steve Cishek hasn t allowed a run in 14 apps (13 IP, 6-H, 4-BB, 14-SO) since being acquired from Seattle on July 28 RH Sergio Romo has a 1.86 ERA (19.1-IP, 4-ER) in 15 apps with 15 SO and 1 BB since acquired from the Dodgers on July 23. RH Alex Colomé converted his major league-leading 39th save last night with his next save, he will become the sixth pitcher in Rays history to reccord a 40-save season, joining Brad Boxberger (41 in 2015), Fernando Rodney (48 in 2012), Rafael Soriano (45 in 2010), Danys Baez (41 in 2005) and Roberto Hernandez (43 in 1999). Colome is one of four Rays relievers with a 35-save season under his belt, along with Boxberger (41 in 2015), Cishek (39 in 2014) and Romo (38 in 2013).
