The Concept of our show RDC presents its 13 th Holiday Show A Disney Wonderland. Each of the numbers will be based on a Disney movie or musical, hosted by Disney Royalty from RDC s Empower team. Join us for a brand new tale of family and friendship, celebrating the joy and wonder of the holiday season! Parent Information This winter, Revolution Dance Center will be putting on its 13 th Annual Holiday show, entitled A Disney Wonderland. This is an extra performance opportunity with rehearsals outside of regular class time. We would be thrilled to have your child as a dancer in our latest production. Below is information about the show numbers, dates and times of rehearsals (Subject to change based upon the progress of each number), performance dates and times, parent involvement opportunities and the participation cost for each dancer. There are no auditions. You can sign up for the style of dance that you want your child to perform, even if he or she is not taking class in that type of dance. We encourage dancers to explore new styles and we have set rehearsal times to accommodate dancers participating in multiple numbers. You can enroll in the Holiday Show online through our website or at the studio. The Cast list will be posted on the website at www.revolutiondancecenter.com and the RDC Facebook page on Monday, Oct 1st. Rehearsals will start on Saturday Oct. 6 th, 2018 and will run for 8 weeks on Saturdays from 12:30 to 4:25pm (approximately 1 hour for each number). If this is something that your dancer would be interested in, RDC will need a full commitment and payment by Wednesday, October 3rd. Please remember to come in, make your payment and get measured on Wednesday, October 3rd4:30-7:00pm @ RDC Main Please understand that this show requires a significant amount of time and energy for everyone involved. If you have any conflicts that will coincide with any of the show s rehearsals, please e-mail Mrs. Julie Kay at Juliekayrdc@gmail.com; please note that there are a maximum number of 2 excused absences for the entire show. We ask that if an unavoidable emergency comes up that the cast member please call the front desk before that rehearsal. Holiday Show Communication Tool We will be communicating weekly updates, photos and rehearsal videos through the Band app which is available for FREE through the app stores (either iphone or android). We will be creating a group Band for Holiday Show only. Once the show is cast, we will be inviting all cast members to join it so we can stay in touch and keep you informed and ready to perform. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask any choreographers or the front desk we will be more than happy to assist you. HOLIDAY SHOW NUMBERS AND REHEARSALS Please understand if your dancer has a regular class on Saturdays, he or she may be too tired to do class and rehearsal on Saturdays during October and November Consider moving your class to another day or doing make up classes for these 8 weeks, starting Oct. 6th. How To Sign Up on RDC s Website 1. Go to our website www.revolutiondancecenter.com Click on Register/Pay Now 2. Click on Account Access/Pay Now button a. If you are new to RDC you will click on the right side I am a new family to RDC b. If you are an existing family but have never used our online system or you have forgotten your password, you will click on the right side I am a returning family but this is my first time using this system c. If you are an existing family and you know your password, use the left side of the screen 3. Once you get to your Account page, you will select Register for Classes on bottom right of screen. 4. If you have more than one child, make sure you are enrolling the correct child 5. From the My Enrolled Classes screen, change the Displaying Classes for Session to Holiday Show 2018 with the down arrow 6. Find the correct age bracket AND style you want to sign up for and click enroll - If you want to sign up for more than 1 number Click on multiple classes - If you have more than one child, you can manage which student you want by the next Student tab at the top of the page - If you want to sign up for Backstage Moms select the backstage mom class for any of your students. 7. Don t forget to click on the Process Registration button on the top of the My Enrolled Classes screen. A Wonderland Royal Ball Cast Party Friday, November 30 th 6:00 to 8:00pm in Studio E All Cast members and families are welcome to attend the Royal Ball! Come dressed in your holiday finest and walk the red carpet, be introduced to the crowd, photo opportunities with the Disney Royalty and enjoy some food and of course a DANCE PARTY! Paper Rabbit will also be at the party for you to purchase Disney-themed customized ornaments. There will be a signup genius for potluck items. Dress Rehearsal (Mandatory) Saturday, December 9 th 11 am-1:00pm Lanterman Auditorium Showtime Saturday, December 9 th 5 pm Lanterman Auditorium Performance Information RDC s Holiday Show will be performed at Lanterman Auditorium, 4491 Cornishon Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 5pm. The dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, Dec. 9th from 11am -1pm. The show will be approximately 1 hour with no intermission. Every dancer must arrive to the theater in full costume and make-up 45min before show time. There will be a check in area for the dancers when you drop them off backstage. We will have our teachers and backstage mothers escort the dancers backstage to insure their safety. More information regarding drop off and pick up will be given at dress rehearsal. Show Tickets Tickets for the performances will go on sale, Monday, November 12th at both studios. Seating will be on General Admission only. $12 per seat before the show date. Pricing will be $15 per ticket at the theater for dress rehearsal and at the show.
Videotaping - No DVD will be made of the show, you will be able to videotape the show from a designated area but not from your seat. Participation Costs Please understand that the cost to participate includes all rehearsals, a costume for 1 dance that you will get to keep (except tutus), staging and prop fees. You will be responsible for shoes and tights for your dancer. If you choose to do more than one number, there is an additional fee of $90.00 per number. Dancers ages 3 to 10 yrs -- $280.00 Dancers 11 yrs and up -- $295.00 Dance Ambassadors -- $90.00 Participation Fee and commitment is due in full by Wednesday, October 3rd at RDC Main. We will be ordering costumes after the first rehearsal so there are no refunds. If you are on Autodebit, your credit card will be charged for the Holiday Show fees with your OCTOBER payment. Costumes Your participation fee includes your costume for the performance. You will need to provide your own tights and shoes. Dancers will be measured on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd from 4:30-7:00pm at RDC Main. Just come to the front desk. If you absolutely can t be there, we will measure during the first rehearsal. Costumes will be ordered the day after the first rehearsal for all dancers who have been measured and paid their performance fees. Late fees and increased shipping costs may be incurred if payment or measurements are delayed. Parent Involvement Opportunities Backstage Mothers Performance groups under 10 years old will need 1 or 2 backstage mothers (sorry dads!). If you would like to be a backstage mother, you can register for it on the Holiday Show session. Your duties would include: Keeping dancers supervised, quiet & content before they go on stage. Prepare them for entrance on stage (once you have volunteered, you will have a line-up of the students and you will become familiar with them, also, teachers will ask you to come into rehearsal as it gets closer to the performance for specific instructions). Making any necessary adjustments to their costume to keep them uniform etc. & touching up their make-up just before they go out on stage to keep them all looking stage-ready Delivering the class to the Stage Right Attendant (once you have given the students to the attendant you will be permitted to leave, this will give you plenty of time to get to your seat & see your dancer). Retrieving the students after their dance and taking them to their staging area until their parent or guardian comes for them. Usher Dads. Dads, here is your chance!
