10 Easy Steps For A Great Reebok Spartan Race Experience! 1. Once you arrive at the race venue, proceed to the WAIVERS/ BIB NUMBERS tent located near the entrance to the Festival Area. 2. Fill out and sign your Participant Waiver and NBC Waiver 3. Find your BIB number located on the BIB Number wall. Write it on your waiver. Write it on your arm. 4. Proceed to REGISTRATION tent with your Waiver and Photo Identification in hand. Choose the lane with the number sequence that matches your BIB number. 5. Pick up your race packet from one of our awesome volunteers. 6. Loop the yellow wristband through the timing chip and attach it to your wrist. 7. Attach your BIB number to your shirt with safety pins. 8. If you choose, drop your stuff at BAG CHECK tent for safe- keeping. Bag Check is $5 per bag. 9. Head into the Festival Area, look for the START signs located within the Festival. 10. Prepare For Glory!

PRE- RACE DETAILS PLEASE READ! Follow these Pre- Race Instructions to ensure a speedy registration on race day! 1. Visit the VIRGINIA Spartan Super event page on our website. 2. Scroll down to Important Race Documents. 3. ATHLETE START TIMES will be posted on Wednesday, August 13 th. 4. BIB NUMBERS will be posted by Wednesday, August 19 th. 5. Click on the Start Times Link to find your exact start time. Your name will be in alphabetical order according to your last name. There you will find your heat start time. Write it down. Your BIB Number will be used to find your race packet when you arrive on Race Day. 6. Print the Reebok Spartan Race Waiver and NBC Wavier located under Important Documents. 7. Fill out the waivers completely and bring it with you along with one valid form of ID. 8. EVERY RACER MUST SIGN BOTH WAIVERS & SHOW A VALID FORM OF ID! DO NOT FORGET YOUR PHOTO ID!!!
RACE DAY REGISTRATION FLOW NOTE: Day of Race Registration will be available at a fee of $200. NOTE: Show up at least 2 HOUR prior to your Heat Start Time at the parking lot. Saturday: STEP 1: STEP 2: STEP 3: STEP 4: Registration OPENS at 6:00am and CLOSES at 3:00pm. With your Signed Waiver, Bib Number and PHOTO IDENTIFICATION in hand, proceed to the REGISTRATION TENT. ** If you DO NOT have your Waivers or Bib Number, you can locate these at the WAIVERS/ BIB NUMBERS tents. Find the registration lane with the number sequence that matches your BIB number. Participants will hand race waiver to one of our awesome Volunteers in the Registration tent. Waivers and ID will be checked to verify identity before packet is received. You will receive: Race Bib (Bibs should be pinned on your front, back, or shorts). Spartan Headband with Bib Number- please wear headband during race so we can recognize your bib number. Wristband with your Start Time. All Racers MUST run during their designated start time. This wristband will get you into the start corral and serves as your festival access AFTER your race. Please keep it on at all times. Loop the yellow strap through the timing chip and attach it to your wrist. Free Drink ticket- Located on your bib (Don t lose this as we won t give you another one!!!) STEP 5: STEP 6: Once you have your race packet and headband, proceed into the Festival area. BAG CHECK. If you re planning to store gear at our Bag Check tent, we will tag your bag with a wristband, which will match an identical wristband that you must wear. Once you finish the race, you ll need to turn in your wristband in order to collect your bag. Bags will only be returned to individuals whose name and number match up. Bags can be checked for $5 per bag. For each checked bag, you will receive $5 in Spartan Bucks, which can be redeemed at the Merchandise Tent (not valid for Food or Beverage). Saturday: Bag Check tent will open at 6:00am and CLOSE when the last racer picks up their bags.

If you do not know your start time, you can locate it on your event page or at the Bib Number tent near the entrance to the Festival. VIRGINIA Spartan Super event page If you have any problems with your registration, please come to the Race Day Registration tent and we ll help resolve it. COURSE DESCRIPTION Terrain: The Wintergreen course is steep and rocky, and it s also steep with some rocks! This will be a great warm up for those heading to our World Championships in Vermont! We will be sending racers up and down man- made trails as well as straight into the woods. It is YOUR responsibility to follow course markings carefully. Do NOT assume the racer in front of you knows where they are going. Always follow the course markings. Weather: There is a strong possibility of high temperatures and humidity for race day. Please check the weather forecasts leading up to the race so that you re ready for anything. Don t forget your sunscreen! Water Stations: As always, Spartans come prepared! All racers should be sure to bring extra water and energy fuel if needed. There will be three water stations on course and one at the Finish Line. *****Due to the predicted heat and humidity, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU WEAR A CAMELBACK OR ANOTHER HYDRATION PACKDURING THE RACE. You can refill it at each water station, but if you use our disposable cups, please take only one at each station and refill it! *****
EVENT TIMING You will receive a Chip Timer ($40 value) and yellow wrist strap to record your time and results. Chip Timer must be fastened around wrist in order to record your finish time properly. Upon completion of the race at the Finish line: o Drop Chip Timer and wrist strap into buckets at either side of the Finish Line. o You will then receive your Spartan Race Medal and T- Shirt. Finisher Times will be posted at the Results Tent near the Finish Line and will be on the Spartan Race Website as quickly as possible. SGX WARM UP AREA Wondering how to warm up before the race? Need some practice climbing a wall or lessons on how to climb a rope? Just swing by the SGX WARM UP Area and one of our Spartan Coaches will get you started. Our Spartan SGX program provides accessible stretching equipment, practice ropes, a 6' wall, and most importantly EXPERT GUIDANCE from our growing community of coaches that have been certified as Spartan SGX Instructors. AWARDS: The Awards Ceremony will be held at 11:50am on Saturday. The top 3 male and 3 female ELITE Heat racers will receive a cash prize of $500, $200, and $100 respectfully. The top 3 male and 3 female racers will also receive a Unique Reebok Spartan Race Plaque designed by one of our most loyal racers. Each of the top 3 male and females will also be featured on Spartan Race's Wall of Champions page. Age Group Awards: The Top 3 overall male and female finishers in each age group will be awarded a prize (must be present in order to receive award, they can not be shipped). FREE RACE PHOTOS Your FREE Race Photos will be available approximately one week after the event. KID S RACE Junior Spartan Adventure Schedule SATURDAY SCHEDULE Junior Spartan Race: Varsity 1 mile 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm Junior Spartan Race: Varsity 1/2 mile 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm Registration for the Spartan Kids Race will be at the main Registration tent. On- site registration is $30 per child. Each finisher will receive a finisher s medal and Kids Race Shirt. Bring Cash, Check, or Card if you are planning to register on- site. Look for the orange Kids Fit banners to locate the Starting Line.
SPARTAN 12 HOUR HURRICANE HEAT SATURDAY MORNING 6:00AM The Spartan 12 Hour Hurricane Heat takes the Hurricane Heat a step further and gives runners the chance to test their physical and mental fortitude. Held on Saturday morning, both on and off the Spartan Race Course, the goal is to finish. You will be challenged to work as a team and you will be challenged as an individual. You must be able to self- support for the entire twelve hours. You will need your own food, water, and so on. A specific gear list will be sent out leading up to the event. No timing chips, no clock, just a Spartan- style workout that represents what our company and our athletes are all about getting up when you re knocked down and finishing what you start. Successful finishers earn a Hurricane Heat Twelve Hour Death Race Qualifier Patch, a Hurricane Heat Twelve Hour Finishers Shirt, entry into a closed networking group, and the chance of a lifetime to find the Spartan finish line as a Twelve Hour Hurricane Heater. The 2014 Virginia Hurricane Heat will take place at 6:00am, Saturday morning and will last 12+ hours. Visit here to get signed up! All registered Hurricane Heaters will receive parking instructions via email on Wednesday, August 20 th. FESTIVAL CHALLENGES While you are waiting to race or looking for an extra workout, try out one of our Festival Challenges. Test your skills on the Traverse Wall, see how many pull- ups you can do at our Pull- up Challenge, how many times you can flip a Tractor Tire, or see how many times you can push press our Slosh Pipe. 1 st place male and female challenge winners receive a Free Race Entry to the Spartan Race event of their choice. Traverse Wall Challenge An exact replica of the wall we use on course. The goal is to get across the wall without falling off and ring the bell in the fastest time! Pull Up Challenge Cameras will record this entire challenge in hopes of documenting a new Guinness World Record for most pull- ups in one minute. Slosh Pipe Press A PVC pipe capped at both ends and filled with water. The tube is only filled to about 60% capacity, which allows the water to slosh around. How many times can you press the Slosh Pipe in one minute? Tire Flip Challenge Flip a tractor tire as many times as possible in 60 seconds.
HOW TO GET HERE ALL RACER AND SPECTATOR PARKING WILL BE LOCATED OFF- SITE, DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE WINTERGREEN WINERY. PARKING AT THE RACE VENUE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED AND IS RESERVED FOR VIP PARKING ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE UP TO THE RESORT, YOU WILL BE STOPPED AND SENT TO THE REMOTE PARKING LOT. We will be providing free shuttles to take racers and spectators to and from the race venue. The shuttle route is 7 miles from Wintergreen Resort, approximately a 10- minute ride. There will be NO ACCESS up Blue Ridge Parkway. Parking: Due to limited available parking, we highly recommend you carpool with some friends! Parking is $10 (cash) per car. No over- night camping is allowed. VIP Parking: A limited amount of VIP parking spots are still available for $40 each. Pack some friends in your car and share the cost of VIP Parking. Please come by the Spectator Tent to pick up your wristband. Please print the Spectator Waiver from the VIRGINIA Spartan Sprint event page and bring an ID to the Spectator Tent on race day. Spectator maps will be available at the Spectator Tent for those looking to get close to the action. Anyone entering the festival MUST fill out a waiver and have a wristband (including racers). Food (BBQ and healthy options) and drink will be for sale (please bring cash). Unique Spectator Course access with obstacle viewing, to get your favorite Spartan Racer s pictures! EQUIPMENT & CLOTHING All participants are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, shoes, and a plastic bag. You are going to get wet and muddy! Shoe Donation will be available- we ll clean and send your filthy running shoes to needy feet all over the globe. Just tie them together and toss them in the pile by the showers. FOOD & BEVERAGES Food and beverages will be available for sale so please bring cash. There will be NO free/selling of beer or alcoholic beverages at this race. Every finisher will receive a bottle of Gatorade. RESPONSIBLE DRINKING Spartan Race HQ reminds you to drink responsibly. This race is one of grit and determination that should not be tarnished by the irresponsible acts of few. SPARTAN RACE SPECIAL OFFERS Please stop by the Future Sales Tent in our Festival for some great discounts and information on up coming races!!! FACILITIES Porta- Potties will be located throughout the festival area. Washing Stations are located on- site, but bring a towel and a change of clothes. SPARTAN INFORMATION ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPAINED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES. LEAVING YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED WHILE YOU ARE RACING WILL RESULT IN BEING PULLED OFF THE COURSE AND ASKED TO LEAVE. No pop- up tents are allowed in the festival. Tent space is reserved for Sponsors. No coolers or glass bottles allowed on property. Security staff will check for them as you enter. Shoe and clothing donation available both in festival and in parking lots. If you want to donate your muddy clothing and shoes make sure you drop it off at the proper tent and not on the ground. If you wear a GoPro, please make sure your contact information (name & phone number) is somewhere on the camera. If you lose the camera on the course, this is the only way we are able to identify it. You must have ID to check in. Racers ages 13 and older can participate in the adult s race. 13 year olds require a guardian to run with them on the adult course. Those under 13 are encouraged to join the Kids race. No DOGS/ pets allowed - Only Service Dogs with proper credentials are allowed. Please DO NOT call venue with questions! INCLEMENT WEATHER In the event of inclement weather such as lightning, tornadoes, hurricanes and the like, Spartan Race reserves the right to eliminate obstacles, select portions of the course, or cancel the event in order to ensure the safety of racers, volunteers and staff.
