COMPETITION RULES Rules Category Participation Routines As event of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series, the competition will be organized according to FINA ASWS Regulations Senior Open to National Teams from all FINA Federations and also open to clubs with the agreement of the concerned Federation. Technical Solo, Duet, Mixed Duet, Team Free Solo, Duet, Mixed Duet, Team Combination, Highlight Entries Every club or national team may enter 2 solos, 2 duets, 2 mixed duets, 1 team, 1 combination and 1 highlight. Every swimmer is allowed to compete in 1 solo, 1 duet/mixed duet, 1 team, 1 combination and 1 highlight. Competition Format Time Limits According to FINA Rules (AS 14). Draws There will be no preliminary events. Finals will be held for all events. The events are to be held separately and the results cannot be combined. Will be done at Team Leaders Meeting on May 29, according to FINA rules (AS 13.7). Scoring Scoring will be according to the FINA Rules (AS 17) TECHNICAL OFFICIALS Eligibility Practice Judges Neutral Judges National Federation Judges Every participating NF must bring a minimum of one A or G FINA judge and a maximum of two to every meet they enter. An A judge will be given priority over G judges and all FINA judges must have successfully passed the Judges Exam administered at a FINA Artistic Swimming Judges Certification in School in 2018, and the 2018 on line exam and be on the current FINA List. The list of judges for each competition must be sent in advance to the FINA office Accepted at all events of the Series, maximum one judge per Federation Neutral Judges are invited to apply to the OC to attend World Series. In the event of low foreign participation in a ASWS Leg FINA may appoint one (1) or two (2) neutral judges to ensure a balance between the judges nationalities. National Federation judges may be used if they have FINA status or have passed the Advanced Exam TRAININGS The OC provides training times to the teams on May 28-29, but if some teams require time on May 27, please enquire for possible arrangements. The specific training schedule for each team for the days before the competition will be sent by e-mail to the contact details before the competition. Once the competition is started there will be a once through music training before each competition session, whenever possible. Information Bulletin #1 - page 4

TEAM LEADERS TECHNICAL MEETING The OC will hold a Technical Meeting on Wednesday, May 29, at 17:00. Federation and clubs must ensure that a representative is present at the meeting. A FINA TASC Delegate will also attend. Should a National Federation enter several solos, duets, mixed duets or team events with members of their national delegation, only the highest ranked solos, duets, mixed duets or team in each event will be considered for the Series results and rankings. Awards will be given to the first three places in Solo Tech, Solo Free, Duet Tech, Duet Free, Mixed Duet Tech, Mixed Duet Free, Team Tech, Team Free, Free Combination and Highlight Routine, including the reserves. In all the events only one routine from each country will be awarded and get the medals. Information Bulletin #1 - page 5

DOPING CONTROL According to the FINA DC Rules and the WADA International Standards MUSIC The music (competition + gala) must be submitted electronically before May 15,. A Dropbox File Request will be sent by the OC the the person in charge of music for each federation, as indicated in the entry form. File must be labeled with the following information, all separated by underscores, with no blank spaces. EVENT_NATIONAL FEDERATION 3-LETTER CODE_NAME OF COMPETITOR (first in alphabetical order) Examples: DuetTech_CAN_Holzner.mp3 SoloFree_CAN_Simoneau.mp3 TeamFree_CAN_Ball.mp3 Federations must also have in their possession a digital copy of their music on USB sticks for use as backup if necessary. START LISTS AND RESULTS Results will be according to FINA Rules (AS 20.2.1). Start lists and results of the competition will be posted on the FINA website as well as on the competition page on Canada Artistic Swimming s website. VISA INFORMATION Upon receipt of written approval from the country s federation, Canada Artistic Swimming will provide Visa assistance. Please fill out the Visa Request Form to receive assistance. LOCAL TRANSPORTATION Transportation between Québec City International Airport (YQB) and the official hotels will be provided by the Organizing Committee. All accommodations are walking distance to the pool. Please make sure that your flight details are completely filled in the Final Entry Form in order to ensure that your transportation to and from the Québec City International airport is arranged correctly. CANADA AND SYNCHRO AMERICA OPENS The Canada Open and the Synchro America Open (held May 22-23, in Greensboro, USA) are both events in the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series. The dates for these championships have been coordinated to encourage Federations to participate in both events. Federations wishing to attend both events should indicate this on their entry form to receive special information about travel assistance between the two competitions. EXHIBITION GALA On Saturday, June 1st, we will present an Exhibition Gala. As FINA had recently instituted it, all delegations must participate in this final gala as it is one of the main ways to develop and promote our sport. Solo, duet, trio, accessories, improvisations, everything is allowed to make this Exhibition Gala a spectacular show to finish our week together. Each federation attending the event should plan and come prepared with at least one Exhibition Gala Show routine which is different from the competition routines. There are no rules, make up and accessories are welcome and encouraged. We ask that all federations fill out the Gala Information Form before April 30,, to help us plan the event. CLOSING CELEBRATION DINNER We will be proud to host a Closing Celebration Dinner for all delegations at the end of the competition on Saturday, June 1st. More information will be provided at a later time.
