Happy October! We have so much to look forward to as the 4-H year gets started. Right away on Oct, 1 we have Rotary Fun Night. This is an opportunity for members from across the county to come together, mingle, complete a service project, and be recognized for a job well done last year. The last time we made Birthday Parties in a box, 110 were donated to local organizations for distribution. I hope we are able to break that record this year. As you start planning for the month here are so fun ideas to help you celebrate: * Cookie month There are so many ways to celebrate this. From decorating cookies (remember, we have a cake decorating trunk at the office) to baking and taking them to a nursing home. There is so much to do with cookie month! * Pizza month again, how can you not celebrate pizza month? Use pizza as a way to talk about healthy options. Use a whole grain pita as the crust and provide several toppings for kids to customize their pizza. Coming up in November we have Civic U. and Burleigh County is looking for members who are interested in starting a team. A team consists of 5 youth in grades 6th-8th. The event consists of a noncompetitive quiz bowl in the morning followed by a parliamentary procedure contest in the afternoon. I would love to work with a team and practice and get ready for the competition. For more information or to get signed up please let me know! Here is to another great month!
