Gerard Hall recorded a hustle double to lead off the game and scored on a Chad Mozingo sacrifice fly. Schaumburg added another run in the second to jump ahead 2-0 when Sean Mahley posted an RBI single. Windy City tied the game in the fifth inning, scoring a pair of runs to chase Mike Giovenco from the game. Giovenco tossed five innings in his season debut, allowing two runs on seven hits in a no decision with three walks and six strikeouts. Matt Kuna entered and earned the win when the Boomers added an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth against Mike Recchia, the 2012 Frontier League Pitcher of the Year. Schaumburg put the game out of reach with three runs in the bottom of the eighth. The Boomers posted eight hits in the contest. boys of the bullpen Three different pitchers appeared out of the bullpen for the Boomers last night. Matt Kuna earned the win, tossing two innings in his season debut. Kuna appeared in two games as a reliever last season before moving into the rotation.
