The Horse Park at Woodside Rules, Regulations, and Information GENERAL INFORMATION: The Horse Park at Woodside 3674 Sand Hill Road Woodside, CA 94062 Office Phone: (650) 851-2140 Email: info@horsepark.org www.horsepark.org DIRECTIONS: The Horse Park at Woodside is located at 3674 Sand Hill Road on the Menlo Park / Woodside border, in Woodside California. Take Interstate 280 to the Sand Hill Road Exit. Proceed on Sand Hill Road West toward the hills. The Horse Park will be on your right less than one mile off I-280. Please limit your driving speed to 10 mph on horse park grounds. As this is a daylight use facility and lighting is limited, it is in the best interest of exhibitors to plan their arrival and departures during daylight hours. No smoking anywhere on the property. Smoking is never permitted in the stabling areas or office. Dogs are to be under the direct control of their owners, or leashed, or securely tied in a safe place away from horses, people, and other dogs. For those of you who may be walking your dogs on the trails, please keep them under your direct control or on a leash at all times. Office hours are 9:00 am 4:00 pm Monday through. In Case of Emergency: Please immediately notify the Horse Park office or a Horse Park employee. If the office is closed or no one is available, please use the public telephone located next to the Horse Park office or a mobile telephone to summon help by dialing 911. Show Rules & Regulations 1. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. 2. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes; 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. 3. The Rated Sections of this Competition are eligible for the USEF Federation and USEF/ ZONE 10 Horse of the Year Awards Program. 4. The Horse Show Executive Committee reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Executive Committee, their decision is final. The Horse Show Executive Committee to include the Chairmen of the Silicon Valley Horse Show (SVHS-NCASHA), Horse Show Manager, Horse Show Secretary, and an Attorney. 6 ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 5TH 2019

5. HACKNEY PONIES must be registered with the American Hackney Horse Society and/or the Canadian Hackney Society. They must be entered in their full registered names, with registration numbers and under the name of the owner(s) of record with the AHHS or CHS. A copy of the registration papers, showing proof of ownership must be submitted with the entry form. Ponies may not be shown in Harness or Roadster Pony classes unless the owner possesses a current measurement card or valid measurement form issued by the USEF. All Open Roadster Ponies must be re-measured and issued new measurement cards prior to competing in recognized competitions for the year 2006 and beyond (effective 3/1/04). Please send Copies with your entry form if you have been re-measured since 2006. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be a member of the USEF or pay a non-member fee. Owners and trainers must be members of AHHS. Copies of current membership cards are required. 6. AMERICAN SADDLEBRED HORSES must be registered with the American Saddlebred Registry or the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation. They must be entered in their full registered names with registration numbers and under the names of the owner(s) of record. A copy of the registration papers showing recorded ownership or Certificate of Eligibility to show must be submitted with entry form at the time of making entry or presented to competition office before competition number will be released. Owners, trainers, riders, drivers and handlers must be current competing members in good standing with the American Saddlebred Horse Association or ASHA of Canada. Copies of current membership cards are required. 7. MORGAN HORSES shown in this division must be registered with the American Morgan Horse Association, Inc., or an organization having registry reciprocity, (Canadian Morgan Horse Association, British Morgan Horse Society, Swedish Morgan Horse Society). Horses must be entered under their full registered name and under the names of the owner(s) or lessee of record. Stripping for conformation is not required. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be a member of the USEF or pay a non-member fee. Exhibitors, trainers and owners must be members of AMHA, or an organization having registry reciprocity, or pay a non-member fee to participate. Copies of current membership cards and horse registration papers showing current ownership are required. 8. All entries are accepted with the understanding that the Silicon Valley Horse Show and the Horse Park at Woodside will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned to him, his agents or employees, or by any animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify the Silicon Valley Horse Show and the Horse Park at Woodside against any and all loss, damage and liability thus occasioned including but not limited to any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form shall constitute an acceptance by each person of the provisions herein set forth. 9. All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or the Horse Park at Woodside properties and will be billed accordingly. 10. The Silicon Valley Horse Show reserves the right to refuse or accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages. ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 5TH 2019 7

11. The Silicon Valley Horse Show reserves the right to cancel and/or combine classes with insufficient entries, and will combine classes specifically as prescribed in the class specifications. 12. The Silicon Valley Horse Show reserves the privilege of substituting or changing judges if it becomes necessary. The judges decisions in the show ring are their own responsibility and the Show Committee accepts no responsibility for these decisions. 13. Entries will be considered acceptable if they are: 1) Properly signed, by the owner, trainer and rider, and, in the case of a minor, signed by a parent or guardian. 2) Made on an entry blank provided by the Show. 3) Showing correct mailing address of owner. 4) ACCOMPANIED BY A MINIMUM PAYMENT THAT COVERS THE STALLS AND HORSE FEES. PAYMENT MAY BE MADE BY CHECK OR CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION. (Visa, Master Card, Discover - 3% fee) 5) ACCOMPANIED BY CURRENT REGISTRATION PAPERS AND COPIES OF ALL USEF MEMBERSHIP AND ALL BREED MEMBERSHIP CARDS, AS APPLICABLE. 14. Entries close May 5th,2019. Do not mail after this date. Post Entries may be accepted with penalty at the show office. Stall Reservations must be made by the closing of entries, May 5th, 2019. Stalls may be reserved by calling Kent Moeller at (804) 363-3085 or email at kentamoeller@gmail.com. ENTRY FORM FOR STALLS MAY ONLY BE MAILED TO SHOW SECRETARY WITH PAYMENT. 15. Stabling. Stalls will not be available until 10:00 a.m. TUESDAY, May 14th. Stalls must be vacated by 6:00 p.m.,, May 19th, 2019. 16. Cancellation or Substitution of Entries. Exhibitors canceling their entries for any reason other than illness of horse or rider after the official entry closing date shall forfeit entry and stall fees. In case of illness, a Veterinarian or Doctor Certificate is required before close of show, whereby entry fee and stall fee will be refunded, less a $25.00 office fee. Where exhibitors or trainers wish to make a change in entries in any class, they are required to follow the procedure of scratching the existing entry and making a new entry with the Show Secretary s office. Such changes shall be treated as post entries and charged the post entry fee. In the event of the sale or injury to a horse (Veterinarian s Certificate required), exhibitors may post enter another horse in the same class at the rate of $5.00 per class. 17. Changes. Care should be taken to enter animal in its proper class. Sex and age of horses must be correctly stated, as well as the correct date of birth of Junior riders. Exhibitors are responsible for their errors and those of their agents in making out entry blanks. Any changes will be charged for at the rate of $10 per class. In all classes, the description on the entry blank must fully identify horses. The word entry will not be accepted. 18. Scratches and Rider Changes. All scratches and rider changes MUST be made in the Horse Show Office no later than 2 hours prior to start of Performance. 19. Championship Entries. To be eligible, horses must qualify in class as noted in list of classes. No Post Entry Fee will be charged on any Championship/Stake Class. 20. USEF Amateur Certification. Every person who has reached his 18th birthday and competes in classes for amateurs under USEF rules must possess current amateur certification issued by the Federation. This certification must be available for 8 ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 5TH 2019

inspection or the competitor must have lodged with the Show Secretary, at least one hour prior to such class, an application for such certification provided by the Federation. 21. RV Facilities. Overnight facilities with hookups are available at the Horse Park at Woodside for $75 per night. To reserve a space contact the Horse Park at Woodside at 650-851-2140. 22. Dogs, or other pets, must be leashed and under direct control of their owners, or securely tied or crated in a safe place. 23. Hay and shavings will be available for purchase from the horse show and will be delivered to the stables. No outside shavings will be allowed. To place orders for hay or shavings contact Kent Moeller at (804) 363-3085 or email at kentamoeller@gmail. com. Additional orders may be placed through the horse show office during the show. 24. Food and beverages will be available during horse show performances, both in the horse show arena or from food vendors at the Horse Park at Woodside. 25. QUESTIONS, DISPUTES and PROTESTS. All protests and questions not covered by these rules shall be decided and interpreted by the Competition Committee, whose decision shall be final. Disputes should be presented to the Show Manager prior to filing a formal protest under the provisions of the USEF Rule GR 603. 26. There will be a penalty of $50.00 if a check is refused by the bank for any reason. No checks will be processed through the bank a second time, and must be covered by a money order, cashier s check or cash, in addition to the penalty. 27. No competition numbers will be released by the Show Office until all entry forms are complete, all necessary registration papers and measurement cards have been seen, and payment in full has been received by the Show Office. A SIGNED OPEN CHECK, OR CREDIT CARD MUST BE LEFT WITH THE SHOW OFFICE FOR FEES INCURRED DURING THE SHOW. 28. The winner of a leg on a Challenge Trophy or a Perpetual Trophy is entitled to possession of the trophy for a period of 10 months from date of winning. The winner is responsible for protection and care of the trophy while in his possession. The winner will return the trophy engraved and polished. A receipt must be signed by the winner prior to taking possession of the trophy. Two months prior to the next show, the trophy must be returned. 29. Prize money will be paid by check and mailed within 30 days, provided there are no outstanding balances on the trainer s accounts. 30. Arena footing is geotextile felt additive and silica sand mix and is properly maintained to the specifications of the Saddlebred and Morgan Division. Arena is 150 by 280. The covered warm-up arena footing is geotextile felt additive and silica sand mix and is 106 by 225. Stalls are 10 by 12. 31. MOTORIZED VEHICLES Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition ENTRIES CLOSE MAY 5TH 2019 9

grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt for this rule.
