Location: (2800 Country Club Dr., Olympia Fields, IL 60461) Date: Monday, Volunteer Shifts: Shift #1: 8:00am 12:30pm: Guest Greeters, Event Registration and Raffle Sales - Please arrive and be ready to begin at 8:00am. inside the clubhouse to check in and receive additional instructions. - A boxed lunch will be provided in the volunteer hospitality room following your shift. Shift #2: 10:00am 5:00pm On Course Contest Spotters - Please arrive and be ready to begin at 10:00am. - A boxed lunch will be provided in the volunteer hospitality room upon your arrival. Shift #3: 4:30pm 7:30pm Dinner Greeter, Raffle Sales, Live Auction and Raising Hope Spotters - A light dinner will be available. Shift #4: 6:00pm 8:30pm Auction Pick-Up & Departure Gift Distribution - A light dinner will be available. *Please note that all ending times are subject to the speed of play and weather delays. We will make every effort to have your shift completed or covered for you according to the assigned shift time. Please allow for some timing flexibility in case a delay arises. If you need to leave for any reason during your assigned shift, please notify an ACS staff member or lead volunteer prior to your departure.
Dress Code: All volunteers must wear golf attire, including a polo shirt with khaki pants, capris or kneelength shorts. No cargo pants, jeans, open toed shoes or sandals should be worn. What to Bring: Volunteers for Shift #1 and Shift #3 will not need to bring any additional items but themselves and a smile! Volunteers for Shift #2 (On-Course Contests) are asked to bring a favorite lawn chair and a golf umbrella for shade. Don t forget your sunglasses, sunscreen and hat to protect you from the sun or any other elements. We also suggest that you bring a jacket in case it is cool and rain gear in case of inclement weather. Parking: Designated parking will be available for volunteers. Please watch for posted signs. What to Leave in your Car: Please bring a minimal amount of personal items to the event site as secure storage will not be available. The will not be responsible for any lost or stolen personal items. Etiquette: Cell phone usage is prohibited in the clubhouse or on the course while golfers are present. If you need to take an important call, please ensure your volunteer responsibilities are covered and remove yourself from all guest areas. On course volunteers must adhere to basic golf etiquette by remaining quiet and still at all times when golfers are near your location so as not to distract from the player experience. Volunteer Position Descriptions Below are brief volunteer descriptions for each Chicago Select volunteer position. Detailed instructions will be provided one week prior to Chicago Select and at the event. Guest Greeting Stations (Shift #1) Greeters will be located in a variety of locations to provide guidance and ensure a seamless guest experience. Volunteers will be placed at strategic locations to ensure volunteers and participants are directed to the correct locations for parking. Participants will be directed to the bag drop located at the main entrance of the clubhouse. Registration Station, Check-In (Shift #1) Assist with the registration process as guests arrive, using our electronic event database system. Note: This position requires quick data entry skills and computer/tablet use. MUST be extremely comfortable with computer use. Contest Holes and On Course Volunteers (Shift #2) There are various contests that occur on the course during play, including Hole in One, Longest Drive, Straightest Drive and Closest to the Pin. These volunteers will be asked to greet each foursome at their hole, determine whether or not each player purchased a Contest Package at registration (this will be determined based on whether or not the golfer is wearing an orange ACS wristband), help with hole contest, as well as serve as witnesses. If a player did not purchase a Contest Package at registration and would like to participate in the contest, Contest Hole Volunteers can sell individual contests on the course. Raffle Volunteers (Shift #1 and Shift #3) Assist in the sale of raffle tickets during the event. Note: This position requires an outgoing personality. Sales experience is a plus! Dinner Greeters (Shift #3) Greeters will be stationed at the entrance of the ballroom to greet each guest and pass out bid paddles.

Live Auction and Raising Hope Spotters (Shift #3) Spotters will assist the auctioneer by pointing out bidders. During the Raising Hope portion of the evening, you will be gathering pledge cards from guests. Immediately after each Live Auction and Raising Hope level, you will be asked to return all completed forms to the guest check out area to be recorded. Auction Pick-Up Volunteers (Shift #4) Organize Silent Auction items in the pick-up area. Distribute guests items at check-out. Assist guests with large auction items to taxis or valet after they have completed the check-out process. Note: This position requires light lifting. Organizational and customer service skills a plus. Departure Gift Volunteers (Shift #4) Set up departure gift station. Acknowledge, thank, and distribute departure gifts to guests as they leave the event. Note: This position requires an outgoing personality and the ability to move/lift items for set-up.
