Homestead HS Psychology High School: Won the state championship in the 50 freestyle and 200 medley relay as a senior and in the 200 free as a junior... twotime first-team all-state swimmer has earned All-America honors in the 50 free and was named to the Kansas City Star All-Metro Team in two events... earned East Kansas League crowns in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke... four-year letterwinner. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men s and women s swimming & diving teams were once again named to the list of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America teams, announced in July by the organization. The Panthers were one of five Horizon League schools to make one of the lists, but Erica Janssen was the only head coach to have both women s and men s teams honored. The inclusion of each extends long established streaks for the UWM swimming & diving program. High School: Transferred to Homestead High School as a senior, but did not swim his final season... was a Classic Lake All-Conference swimmer at Wayzata (Minn.) High School before that, earning All-America consideration in the 200 medley relay... four-year letterwinner was named team captain at the end of his junior year (before moving) and voted team MVP the same season... all-state swimmer holds the Wayzata record in the 100 breaststroke... twotime state qualifier. The women have now been honored for 40-straight semesters with their 3.15 GPA this past spring semester. Cleveland State, Green Bay, UIC and Youngstown State also represented the Horizon League on the women s side. For the men, Milwaukee earned the distinction for the 15th time in the past 16 semesters with its 3.10 GPA as the lone league honoree. The team awards capped an impressive year for the student-athletes in the classroom. Four Panther swimmers/divers were named to the Winter Horizon Academic All-League Team (Molly Finn/ Ashley Hall/Danielle Wenger/Jeremy Waldhart) and Hall earned First Team and Waldhart Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors as well.
