The fee for a recognized meet was $10. Mary proposed to raise the fee to $25 for recognized meets. We will wait for this change pending the proposed USMS national sanction fee. If USMS will collect their fee through online application for sanction, rather than billing the LMSC, we might drop our LMSC sanction/recognition fees. Open water insurance surcharge is $1000. We got $100 rebate from USMS for the Swim the Sun meet. We had to pay $900 in insurance fees. Since the insurance costs are going up, the number of unsanctioned open water event are increasing.
