(EMUEagles.com) -- After enjoying the midweek away from the court, the Eastern Michigan University women s basketball team returns to the floor Saturday, Feb. 4, to battle in-state rival Central Michigan University. Tipoff from the Convocation Center is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Eagles are 6-15 (1-8 MAC) following an 80-62 setback at the University of Akron, Jan. 28. The Chippewas are 15-6 (7-2 MAC) after snapping a two-game losing skid by knocking off MAC East Division leader Ohio University at home, 64-59, Feb. 1. The game will be televised on ESPN3 as part of the campus connection initiative. Ryan Wooley and Sean Hostetter will have the call of the MAC West Division tilt, while live stats will be available at EMUEagles.com. APPROACHING RARE AIR: Senior Phillis Webb is nearing 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in her career, which would make her just the seventh player in program history to register the feat. Webb, who still needs 32 points and 12 rebounds, would join Nikki Knapp (1,511 pts./802 reb.), Stephanie Smiley (1,401 pts./785 reb.), Paige Redditt (1,001 pts./781 reb.), Sarah VanMetre (1,3611 pts./770 reb.), Cassie Schrock (1,506 pts./761 reb.), and Ryan Coleman (1,793 pts./747 reb.) in the group. PAST THE MID-POINT: With teams past the mid-point of the conference slate some parts of the MAC Tournament picture are becoming clearer. If the season ended today, EMU would be the 11th seed traveling to the University of Toledo in the first round. Northern Illinois, Ball State, Central Michigan, and Ohio would have byes directly to Cleveland. 2016-17 SCHEDULE/RESULTS Nov. 7 LAWRENCE TECH (EXH.) W, 74-54 Nov. 12 vs Georgia State! Castro will start his first season at EMU in 2016-17. A rising star in the coaching world, the 36-year old Castro has spent the past 15 years climbing the ranks from student manager to now the eighth head coach in EMU program history. During his career, he has worked tirelessly to learn and has held nearly every position within a women s basketball program including serving as offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, video coordinator, and travel coordinator. Castro has been a part of 10 squads that have participated in the postseason since the 2001-02 campaign, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament Final Four. In 15 years of coaching, his teams have combined to post a 317-171 record (.650 winning percentage) and eight seasons of 20-or-more victories. Castro comes to Ypsilanti following a three year stint in Seattle as an assistant coach with the Huskies, in which Washington posted a 69-35 record and a trip to the 2016 NCAA Tournament Final Four. He worked with the guards and acted as the team s offensive coordinator as the Huskies defeated 14 top-25 programs during his tenure. A storybook 2015-16 campaign saw Washington post a 26-11 record and the program s first Final Four appearance. Dealing with a short bench due to injuries, the Huskies utilized a six-woman rotation as it tore through the NCAA Tournament, including beating No. 4 Stanford, 85 76, to win the South Regional. Washington finished the year ranked in the top 50 in 11 statistical categories including: free throws made (521-6th), free throw percentage (78.0% - 6th), threepointers made (271-17th) and rebounds (1,437-23rd). Castro tutored USBWA All-America honoree Kelsey Plum, who was fourth in the nation in scoring at 25.9 points per game, while leading the country in total points with 960. In addition to her scoring prowess, Plum averaged 3.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists, while leading the nation in both free throws made (266) and attempted (299). The junior guard broke the Washington record for points in a season, while also setting the Pacific-12 Conference record for career free throws made. Castro s guards saw success in 2014-15 as he coached Plum and Jazmine Davis through a record-breaking season. Plum finished her season ranked seventh in the nation in scoring and second in free throws made. Additionally, she set UW single-season records in 30-point games (7), free throws made (207) and percentage (89.6%), single season scoring (746 points), and points in a game with 45 against Oklahoma. Davis completed her senior season with the Dawgs as the UW all-time leader in six categories including points, three-point field goals and free throws made. She also become the first four-time All-Pac-12 player in UW history. In his first year with the program, Washington earned a trip to the quarterfinals of the Postseason WNIT. The Huskies finished 20-14, including 10-8 in the Pac-12. The Dawgs defeated five teams that were ranked at some point during the season, including an upset of then-no. 3 Stanford at Alaska Airlines Arena in front of a nationally televised audience. The win ended the 58-game road conference winning streak of the Cardinal. On the recruiting trail, Washington national prominence continued to improve with the 2016 recruiting class ranked 16th-best in the country. Castro inked a McDonald s All- American in 2015 class, while UW s 2014 incoming group was ranked in the top-25 nationally. He arrived at Washington from the University of Tulsa where he served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2011-13. When Castro arrived at Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane were coming off just five wins, but in 2013 they won the Conference USA Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Castro helped put together a pair of top-50 recruiting classes at Tulsa, while also assisting with on-floor coaching, including practice planning, player development and scouting. His final recruiting class was ranked 39th nationally and fourth amongst mid-majors. In 2012, Castro was first invited to the Nike Villa 7 Clinic for the top 30 assistant coaches in the country. He attended the clinic yearly from 2012-15. In addition to Castro s duties at Tulsa, he worked as an advance scout for the WNBA s Atlanta Dream. Castro worked as an assistant coach at the University of Albany during the 2010-11 season. He was responsible for on-the-floor coaching, game scouting, recruiting, game scheduling and served as the liaison to academic and athlete support services. Castro helped coach the Great Danes to their first winning season since becoming a Division I program in 1999. Prior to his stint at Albany, Castro was an assistant coach at Mercer University for two seasons (2008-10), where he helped coach the second-best turnaround in the country during the 2008-09 season with a 17-13 record, improving from the 2007-08 season by 12 wins, and earn the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Sun Conference a year later. Castro was an advance scout for the WNBA s Minnesota Lynx in 2009-10. Previously, Castro was an assistant men s basketball coach at Rogers State University, an NAIA program in the Sooner Athletic Conference, during its inaugural season in 2007-08 where they went 20-11. He also held various positions for the University of Oklahoma women s basketball program from 2001-07, including video/travel coordinator (2005-07), volunteer coach (2004-05) and manager/scout team player (2001-04). While with the Sooners, Castro was part of six consecutive NCAA Tournament teams, including a Final Four squad in 2002 and back-to-back Sweet Sixteen teams. Oklahoma captured four Big 12 Conference Tournament championships and three regular-season crowns as well during his time on campus. Castro, who hails from Denton, Texas, is a graduate of Oklahoma with a bachelor s degree in aviation, and was an instructor in the Aviation Department in 2004-05. He and his wife, Cindy, have a daughter, Aliya (7) and a son, Alonzo (1). AT EMU MONTH-BY-MONTH Year Nov. Dec. Jan. Feb. ALL-TIME WITH CMU: Saturday s contest marks the 80th meeting between the Chippewas and Eagles, who first met during the 1976-77 season. CMU leads the overall series, 44-35, but EMU has won 22 of the last 34 meetings dating back to the 2000-01 campaign. The Chippewas eked out a 66-65 victory in Ypsilanti, Feb. 3, last this season and then recorded a 78-70 decision in Mount Pleasant, March 5, in the regular season finale. The teams were then pitted against each other in the MAC Tournament Semifinals at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, CMU ousted EMU with an 86-71 victory to advance to the championship game against Buffalo. LAST TIME WE MET: EMU looked to secure a spot in the Mid-American Conference Championship when it tangled with No. 2 seed Central Michigan University in the semifinals, March 11, 2016. The Eagles could not overcome CMU's 15 three-pointers, falling by a final tally of 86-71. A career-day from Phillis Webb paced the Green and White with 20 points. The Brooklyn Park, Minn. product knocked down a then-career-high four three-pointers, while also adding six rebounds, and an assist. Cha Sweeney and Janay Morton also reached double figures, adding 18 and 12 points, respectively. Eastern converted 27-of-67 shots from the field good for a 40.3 field goal percentage, including a 9-of-28 performance from behind the arc. Meanwhile, Central knocked down 51.7 percent of its shots (31-of-60) and 15-of-27 triples. The Chippewas held a 41-29 advantage on the boards while the Eagles held the upperhand in the turnover battle, 18-12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!: On Saturday, EMU Head Coach Fred Castro will celebrate his birthday. HOME COOKING: The Eagles are nearly five points a game better at home than on the road, averaging 67.1 ppg inside the Convocation Center while shooting 37.1 percent from the field. The Eagles have also benefited from an average of 17.4 points off turnovers on its home floor, compared to just 11.9 in away venues. GETTING BETTER WITH AGE: Seniors Phillis Webb and Sheyna Deans have been bright spots for the Eagles over the past five games, combining for 156 of EMU's 310 points. Making up 50.3 percent of Eastern's scoring over that span, the senior duo has also paced the Eagles on the glass. Webb and Deans average 8.8 and 6.8 rebounds per game, respectively, the top two marks on the team over the span. WEBB WORKING TOWARDS 1,000 POINT MARK: Senior Phillis Webb stands 32 points short of the 1,000-point mark in her final season donning the Green and White. If Webb eclipses fourdigits, she will become the 21st player in program history to score at least 1,000 points during their career. CLIMBING THE RANKS: Senior Phillis Webb came into her final season ranked 21st in Eastern Michigan history with 509 rebounds. This season, Webb has grabbed 179 boards, moving her into eighth-place with 688 caroms. Nikki Knapp holds the program record with 802 career rebounds, while Webb is 59 boards behind Ryan Coleman for seventh on the all-time list. DIFFERENCES IN CONFERENCE PLAY: Eastern Michigan's defense has been giving up an average of 76.1 points per game, while the offense is managing just 62.2 points a contest. Since beginning MAC play, one of the team's biggest challenges has been at the free throw line, as the Eagles are shooting just 62.1 percent (113-of-182). SUCCESS STEMS FROM WINNING THE REBOUNDING BATTLE: Winning the rebounding battle has proven to be a true-tale sign of Eastern Michigan's ability to win this season. In their six wins, the Eagles have out-rebounded opponents by 5.3 boards per game. In fact, EMU averages 47.3 rebounds per game compared to opponents' 41.8 boards per contest average in its six wins. Conversely, in its 15 losses, the Eagles average nearly seven rebounds less per game (39.4), while the opposition's per game average jumps to 44.9, making the Eagles -5.5 on the glass in losses. EMU's ability to rebound and control the glass has had an impact on the squad's ability to score this season. Eastern Michigan averages 67.8 points per game when winning the rebound battle, compared to 59.7 points per contest when it is out-rebounded. SHEYNA'S STRETCH: Senior Sheyna Deans has been one of the most consistent Eagles over the past six games. The Detroit native is averaging 13.8 points per game, and has turned in a pair of 20-point performances for the first time in her career. Deans poured in a career-high 21 points in EMU's heartbreaking loss to Western Michigan, Jan. 14, and led the Eagles with 20 points against Ball State, Jan. 18. Deans is not just making buckets, she's doing so at an efficient rate. Over the six-game span, she has converted 39.1 percent (34-of-87) of her shots from the field. Deans has also added 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game to round out her stat line. 2016-17 MAC Standings WEST DIVISION Team Overall MAC Northern Illinois 15-5 8-1 Ball State 15-7 8-2 Central Michigan 15-6 7-2 Toledo 14-6 5-4 Western Michigan 14-6 5-4 Eastern Michigan 6-14 1-8 EAST DIVISION Team Overall MAC Ohio 16-5 7-3 Kent State 12-10 6-4 Buffalo 15-6 5-5 Akron 9-11 2-7 Miami 7-15 1-8 Bowling Green 5-16 1-8 AROUND THE MAC: Wednesday, Feb. 1 Ball State 90, Akron 63 Central Michigan 64, Ohio 59 Kent State 84, Miami 66 Toledo 85, Buffalo 63 Saturday, Feb. 4 Central Mich. at Eastern Michigan, 2 p.m. Ball State at Miami, Noon Toledo at Ohio, 1 p.m. Western Michigan at Northern Illinois, 2 p.m. Kent State at Buffalo, 2 p.m. Akron at Bowling Green, 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 Eastern Michigan at Kent State, 7 p.m. Akron at Miami, 7 p.m. Bowling Green at Ball State, 7 p.m. Toledo at Western Michigan, 7 p.m. Central Michigan at Northern Illinois, 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 Miami at Eastern Michigan 2:30 p.m. Western Michigan at Central Michigan,1 p.m. Bowling Green at Toledo, 2 p.m. Northern Illinois at Buffalo, 2 p.m. Kent State at Akron, 2 p.m. Ohio at Ball State, 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 Buffalo at Eastern Michigan, 7 p.m. Northern Illinois at Miami, 7 p.m. Central Michigan at Ohio, 7 p.m. Toledo at Akron, 7 p.m. 3

EMU WORKHORSE: Coming into the season, junior Micah Robinson had played a total of 378 minutes over 50 games in the first two seasons of her collegiate career, averaging just 7.5 minutes per contest. This season, Robinson has been one of the most utilized players in the country. The Ann Arbor product has played 777 minutes, the most of any player in the conference and the 33rd-most in the country. Additionally, Robinson's 37.1 minutes per game average ranks 17th nationally. ON THE HORIZON: The Eagles return to the road Wednesday, Feb. 8, for a trip to Kent, Ohio, to battle the resurgent Golden Flashes of Kent State University. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (M.A.C. Center). Chad Bush will have the call on WEMU (89.1 FM) beginning at 6:50 p.m. JUNIOR IMPACT: EMU Head Coach Fred Castro's tweak to the starting lineup to include the junior trio of Micah Robinson, Sasha Dailey, and Tori Easley prior to the Northern Colorado contest, Nov. 27, has paid dividends for the Eagles. In fact, the threesome has posted some of the best games of their respective careers since taking the floor together in the squad's final game of the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic. Since Easley and Dailey have joined Robinson in the starting five, the trio has amassed 482 points, 244 rebounds, 106 assists, and 65 steals. Their 482 points makes up 48 percent of the Eagles' offensive production over that stretch. DEFENSE LEADING TO EASY OFFENSE: Over the team s 21 games, the ultra-athletic Eagles have forced 14.9 turnovers a game while snagging 7.6 steals. The 313 turnovers by the opposition has led to 316 points-off-turnovers, or 23.8 percent of EMU s offense. OFFENSE FINDS ITS STRIDE: Eastern not only turned in one of its most balanced offensive performances of the season against Bowling Green, but it was also one of the Eagles' most efficient showings. Seven different players scored as the Green and White connected on 43.8 percent (28-of-64) of its shots, its second-highest field goal percentage of the season. Eastern Michigan's efficiency paid off in its highest point total of the season, as EMU scored 81 to top BGSU. GAME 32 March 11, 2016 Quicken Loans Arena Cleveland, Ohio Eastern Michigan Central Michigan THE LAST TIME WE MET... 70 78 CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) The Eastern Michigan University women s basketball team looked to secure a spot in the Mid-American Conference Championship when it tangled with No. 2 seed Central Michigan University in the semifinals, March 11. The Eagles (21-11, 10-8 MAC) could not overcome CMU s (22-9, 13-5 MAC) 15 three-pointers, falling by a final tally of 86-71. A career-day from junior Phillis Webb paced the Green and White with 20 points. The Brooklyn Park, Minn. product knocked down a career-high four threepointers while also adding six rebounds, a rebound, and an assist. Fellow juniors Cha Sweeney and Janay Morton also reached double figures, adding 18 and 12 points, respectively. Graduate transfer Chanise Baldwin nearly collected a double-double, grabbing a team-high nine rebounds while also chipping in eight points. The 6-foot-3 center also tied a season-high with five blocks, becoming the first Eagle to reject five shots twice in a season in more than a decade. Following an early triple by Morton, Webb went on to hit 3-of-4 from downtown to fuel the Eagles to a 24-17 lead after one quarter of play. Central struck first, opening the game with a layup before Morton s trey. Feeding off the energy a stout defensive effort that forced CMU into three turnovers in the first three minutes, the Eagles continued to take advantage of their speed and the Chippewas miscues. EMU held a 7-0 lead in fastbreak points in the opening period, allowing Eastern to take a 24-17 lead into the second quarter. The Green and White continued to outwork the Chips in every facet of the game in the second half. Defensively, the Eagles forced CMU into three turnovers while cashing in on those miscues to the tune of seven points. Baldwin used her size and aggressiveness down low to provide the Eagles with extra possession offensively and limit the MAC s top offense in Central. Corralling an offensive rebound in the early goings, Baldwin kicked it out to Sweeney at the top of the key. With the defense completely collapsed in the paint, Sweeney drained the trey to extend EMU s lead. As shots kept falling for the Eagles, the Green and White became even more locked in defensively. On the ensuing inbounds, EMU s full-court press forced a 10-second violation before sophomore Sasha Dailey converted a mid-range jumper to push Eastern s lead to double digits, 29-19. After Sweeney kicked to Webb for a baseline three-pointer gave EMU its largest lead of the game, 37-24, Central Michigan called timeout with 5:24 left in the half. Despite scoring just four points over the course of the next five minutes, the Eagles held a 41-37 lead at halftime. Central used a 32-point third quarter to take their largest lead of the game into the final period. CMU shot 68.4 percent in the frame, converting 13-of-19 shots compared to EMU s 7-of-15 showing. More notably however was the Chippewas 6-of-8 shooting from distance. Entering the fourth quarter trailing 69-58, the Eagles could not overcome the deficit despite forcing the Chippewas into seven turnovers. Converting just 6-of-20 shot attempts, the Eagles offense sputtered, as the Green and White fell 86-71. 36TH YEAR IN MAC: The 2016-17 season marks the 36th season Eastern Michigan will compete as a member of the Mid-American Conference. Having been a member of the Cleveland, Ohio based league since the 1981-82 campaign, the Green and White have compiled a 266-326 record against conference opponents all-time. HOME COURT ADVANTAGE: The Eagles have racked up a solid home-court advantage inside the friendly confines of the Convocation Center since the doors opened during the 1998-99 campaign. Eastern Michigan has won 76 of the last 105 home games dating back to the 2008-09 season. The Green and White have won 67.2 percent of the contests played in the building, piling up a 170-83 all-time mark. COMEBACK KIDS: The Eagles posted their largest comeback of the season in a thrilling 81-74 overtime win over Bowling Green, Jan. 25. EMU trailed by as many as nine in the contest, before coming back to clip the Falcons in OT. WOO WOO: Freshman Nailah "Woo" Mitchell was electric for EMU in its win over BGSU, Jan. 25. The Shaker Heights, Ohio native poured in a career-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, highlighted by a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the third quarter. Playing a careerhigh 41 minutes, Mitchell added four rebounds, one assist, and a steal in a career day for the freshman guard. EARLY INDICATORS OF SUCCESS: Through 21 games, several things served as indicators of Eastern Michigan's success. The Eagles are 4-1 this season when holding a lead at halftime, compared to 2-14 when trailing or tied. EMU is also just 3-10 when shooting less than 70 percent from the free throw line. Additionally, Eastern Michigan is 1-15 when allowing 60-or-more points. RUNNIN THE FLOOR: Through 21 games, the Eagles have showcased their ability to get out in transition, as EMU has outscored opponents 144-90 in fastbreak points this season. SWIPING RIGHT MORE THAN TINDER: In EMU's loss to Monmouth, Dec. 12, the Green and White registered a season-high 14 steals with junior Sasha Dailey leading the way with a season-high six thefts. Dailey is the team leader with 49 steals this season, the second most in the league, and good for 61st nationally. Meanwhile, her 2.45 steals per game are third-most in the conference and ranks 55th in the nation. A WINS, A WIN: Eastern trailed by as many as nine in its win over Bowling Green, despite outshooting the Falcons 43.8 to 32.9 percent, as a season-high 23 turnovers led way for 14 points off EMU's miscues for BGSU. The Eagles' 81-74 win marked the first time since EMU defeated Weber State, 57-42, Nov. 29, 2014, that the Green and White had won a game despite committing more than 20 turnovers. FEW AND FAR BETWEEN: The Jan. 25 win over Bowling Green was just the Eagles' second victory against the Falcons in the past 12 years. In fact, Fred Castro has now tied Tory Verdi, AnnMarie Gilbert, and Shane Clipfell's combined total for wins against the MAC East foe. Verdi's 2014-15 squad topped BGSU, 64-52, in the Convocation Center, Jan. 17, 2015. Longtime EMU bench boss Suzy Merchant had the most success against the Falcons, picking up eight wins versus Bowling Green during her tenure, including a run of five straight from 2003-05. STEPPING UP: Eastern Michigan knew prior to its game versus Bowling Green, Jan. 25, it would be without the services of both Sasha Dailey and Esabelle Levine due to injury, forcing the Eagles to rely heavily on a short bench with limited experience. With Sheyna Deans and Phillis Webb fouled out of the game as the teams went to overtime, Head Coach Fred Castro turned to juniors Micah Robinson and Tori Easley, as well as freshmen Jayla Russ, Nailah Mitchell, and Becca Turney to finish the task at hand. Despite going just 1-of-5 from the floor, the Eagles attacked the Falcons, drawing 18 free throws. Paired with a defense that held the Falcons to 2-of- 12 from the floor in extra time, EMU converted 14 FT's to secure the, 81-74, victory. OUTSHOOTING THE OPPOSITION: For the second time since conference play began, the Eagles posted a better field goal percentage than its opposition, Jan. 25, against Bowling Green. Additionally, it was the Eagles' best offensive performance since the season opener versus Georgia State, Nov. 12. Eastern Michigan finished the day 28-of-64 from the field, good for a 43.8 field goal percentage. EMU grabbed a season-high 57 against Morehead State, Nov. 13, and fell one short of that mark, Nov. 16, versus Ferris State. In addition to posting consecutive 55+ rebound efforts for the first time in more than 20 years, the Eagles have recorded the most 51+ rebounding showings since 2014-15, when EMU accomplished the task six times. D'ING UP THE BOBCATS: Eastern Michigan's defense held Ohio to just 38.1 percent (24-of-63) shooting at the Convocation Center, Jan. 21. The total was the second-worst for the Bobcats in Mid-American Conference play, while it was the ninth-time this season that EMU's defense had limited an opponent to under 40 percent shooting. STAT SHEET STUFFER: Junior Sasha Dailey filled up the stat sheet against Western Michigan, Jan. 14, finishing the afternoon with a game-high 24 points on 9-of-19 shooting, to go along with nine rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks. DEANS BREAKS THROUGH: Senior Sheyna Deans finally broke through, posting the first 20+ point game of her career at Miami, as she led the Eagles with a game-high 21 points against the RedHawks. Deans was efficient in her return to the starting lineup, converting 8-of-14 shots from the field, grabbing seven rebounds, and adding two assists, and a steal in 37 minutes of work. BECOMING ROUTINE FOR ROBINSON: Rewriting her personal-bests is something that junior Micah Robinson continues to do on a nightly basis. Entering her third season playing in the MAC, the Ann Arbor, Mich. native had tallied eight points, six rebounds, and 11 assists in 24 all-time contests. In the 2016-17 league opener, Robinson racked up 16 points, five rebounds and five assists at Northern Illinois, Dec. 31. She followed that performance up with a 12-point performance against Toledo, Jan. 4, in 40 minutes of action. Playing the entire game, Robinson surpassed her career total for minutes played in conference games. DAILEY POSTS A SOLID WEEK: Junior Sasha Dailey led the Eagles in the first full week of Mid- American Conference play, averaging 19.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals, and 3.0 rebounds per game. Against Toledo, Jan. 4, the dynamic guard poured in 20 points, while grabbing four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 37 minutes of action against her hometown team. Then, in EMU's clash with Kent State, Dailey paced the Eagles with 18 points. She also added a seasonhigh-tying five assists, three steals, two rebounds, and a block. Dailey has now hit double figures in scoring in 13-of-15 games this season, including the last four. Additionally, her offensive production has been matched on the defensive side of the court where she has posted multiple steals in eight consecutive contests, dating back to Dec. 6. MOVING UP THE LIST: Phillis Webb s 30 point 14 rebound effort at NIU, Dec. 31, marked her fourth double-double of the season, and ninth of her career. Currently, Webb ranks 10th all-time in EMU laurels in the category, trailing Shani Charles and Paige Redditt for ninth-place by four. Sarah VanMetre and Olivia Fouty are tied atop the list, holding the program standard of 17 career double-doubles. LEAVING HER MARK: In Eastern s pummeling of Air Force, Webb was dominating. The Brooklyn Park, Minn. product finished the afternoon with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 17 rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Webb s 17 rebounds rank tied for the sixth-most in Convocation Center history, while also tying the second-most by an Eagle on their home court. WEBB TURNS IN A CAREER DAY ON NEW YEAR'S EVE: If 2017 is anything like the way Phillis Webb closed out 2016, then Eastern Michigan is in for a treat. The Brooklyn Park, Minn. product turned in a career-day for the Eagles in the league opener at Northern Illinois, Dec. 31, picking up her ninth career double-double in the contest. Webb finished the day with a career-high 30 points, becoming just the second Eagle to score 30-or-more points in a game this season. She was also EMU's top rebounder, grabbing 14 boards to secure the double-double. Webb was 11-of-19 from the field, including going 7-for-7 at the free throw line, in a personalhigh 39 minutes of work. Her previous best in points was 24 set earlier this year versus Georgia State, Nov. 12. She also added a block and two steals in the road contest. DEFENSE LOCKS IN, CLIPS THE FALCONS: In EMU's win over Air Force in its non-conference finale, the Eagles held the Falcons offense at bay. Air Force connected on just 23.0 percent (14- of-61) of its field goal attempts, the ninth-lowest field goal percentage in Convocation Center history. Additionally, the Falcons' 23.0 percent clip is the third-worst by an NCAA Division I team and lowest since the Eagles held Northern Illinois to just 20.0 percent from the field, Feb. 19, 2011. 6

Since 2003-04, the Green and White has accomplished the feat 61 times with 33 of those coming against Mid-American Conference foes. HISTORIC CROWD ON HAND: A season-high 3,905 were on hand to witness EMU's 75-56 win over St. Bonaventure Friday afternoon, Dec. 9. The attendance mark ranks as the second-most in single game history for a women's game at the Convocation Center. It was also the highest figure in program history in a game that was not part of a doubleheader with the EMU men's basketball team. ROBINSON'S FINDS HER STRIDE: Junior Micah Robinson broke the 20-point plateau for the first time in her career, Dec. 9, against St. Bonaventure, pouring in a career-high 21 points in the Eagles 75-56 victory. The Ann Arbor, Mich. product finished the game 4-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-5 from three, and went 11-for-13 at the charity stripe. Robinson rounded out her stat line with four assists, two rebounds, and a steal in 38 minutes of work. The win over the Bonnies marked the first time in Robinson's Eagle career that she led the team in scoring. LIGHTS OUT: The Eagles turned in one of their best offensive performances of the season, Dec. 9, against St. Bonaventure. The Green and White converted 25-of-59 shots, finishing the contest with the second-high field goal percentage of the season (42.4). EMU's hot shooting featured its best three-point performance of the year, as Eastern knocked down 50 percent of its shots from beyond the arc. The 10 made triples tied a season-high and were spread out amongst five players. t1. Laurie Byrd (Dec. 12, 1981) 17 t1. Sharon Brown (Jan. 2, 1986) 17 t-3. Tavelyn James (Dec. 9, 2009) 16 t-3. Phillis Webb hit four, Micah Robinson and Sasha Dailey added two apiece, and Esabelle Levine and Sheyna Deans chipped in one each. The five marked the most players to knock down a triple since Jan. 26, 2014 when the Eagles went 10-of-27 from three-point range in a 101-79 loss to Akron. DAILEY GETS BUCKETS: Junior Sasha Dailey continued her hot start to the season against Detroit Mercy, Dec. 6, turning in a career-high-tying performance. Dailey finished the night with 31 points on 13-of-26 shooting, including two triples, and added four rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes on the floor. Her 31 points tied her career-high mark which she set in her collegiate debut at the beginning of the 2014-15 season, while it was the most points she has ever scored against a Division I institution. CAREER DAY ON THE GLASS FOR EASLEY: Since making the leap into the starting five, junior Tori Easley has turned in some of the best games of her career for the Green and White. Most recently, Easley grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds versus Detroit Mercy, Dec. 6, marking the first time the Toledo, Ohio native had reached double digits in rebounding in her career. DAILEY PICKS UP ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS: After averaging 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in games against Tulane and Northern Colorado, junior Sasha Dailey was named to the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament team.
