1. AIMS OF THE FCE: TO DETERMINE THE - World Champions in Para Ski individual male and female separately World Champions in Team Para Ski male and mixed gender teams together and then separately female teams and junior teams, World Champions in Para Ski Junior (born on or after 01/01/1987 - age of 24) male and female separately, Winner of the World Masters Class Para Ski (born on or before 31/12/1961 age of 50) male and female separately. World standing of the competing teams. To establish new records To promote and develop Para Ski. To exchange experience and strengthen friendly relations between the participating nations. To allow participants to share and exchange experience, knowledge and information. To improve judging methods and practices. 3. DATE AND PLACE OF THE FCE 28 th of February 2011-5 th of March 2011 in Gosau Upper Austria Austria. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION 4.1. PARTICIPATION A maximum of 4 teams per nation is allowed. Three teams may be all male, all female, or of mixed gender, but there may be no more than 8 males or 8 females, in these three teams. The fourth team may be composed only of juniors, or for each junior included in the three teams mentioned above, the fourth team may include one competitor of the same gender, who is not a junior. For a team to be eligible for Junior Team ranking, it must be composed of 4 junior competitors. 13 th FAI World Para Ski Championships 2011 P. 2
4.2. TRAINING JUMPS On Monday 28th February 2011 Accuracy Training is possible. The ticket price is 30.00 per jump, exit altitude 1,000 meters. Booking is required. 4.4. GIANT SLALOM TRAINING There is no official giant slalom training. Each team can organize ski training by itself with the technical support of the organizing local ski-club. 4.5. AIRCRAFT Ecureuil or similar helicopter (4 parachutists) with an exit speed of approx. 60-80 kts. 4.6. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS To take part in the event, a valid FAI Sport License 2011 is requested. For the slalom competition the rigid helmet is compulsory. Each participating country should bring its national flag (size: 100 cm x 150 cm) and a CD with the national anthem for the opening and closing ceremony. 4.7. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS Each competitor should have a valid accident insurance; the minimum amount of coverage required in Austria by law is 1.500.000, 00. Liability insurance, covering Officials, Judges, etc., will be arranged by the Organizer. This optional insurance will be put at the disposal of the aforementioned persons at a determined price and has to be booked in advance. The immediate medical First Aid to the participants is the responsibility of the Organizer during the official event, including training days. 13 th FAI World Para Ski Championships 2011 P. 3
4.8. REGISTRATION OFFICE Vital Hotel: A-4824 Gosau Nr. 713 Monday 28 th February 2011 from 10:00 to 17:00. 4.9. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation: Vital Hotel www.vitalhotelgosau.at Internet access: WLAN is possible in the reception area and the Riverside Bar, as a paid service (Login via credit card) or WLAN and special Internet PCs near the Meeting Room (for free) 4.10. LOCAL TRANSPORTATION Delegations are responsible for their own transportation. Shuttle service with the local Ski Bus is for free and will be arranged by the organizer. 4.11. FACILITIES Food Services: Competitors, accompanying persons and official staff get vouchers for lunch and dinner. There are several restaurants nearby the competition area where the vouchers are accepted, more information on the backside of the voucher. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for money. 4.12. USEFUL INFORMATION All information about weather, airports and transportation to Gosau, maps, services, sports, snow conditions and others are on www.paraski2011.at. DETAILS OF ACCESS TO GOSAU Gosau is situated in Upper Austria, in the region of the Lake District Salzkammergut. Near Gosau are several international airports. The closest international airport is Salzburg. VISA INFORMATION For EU Citizens no visa is necessary to enter Austria. For participants coming from other countries it is recommended to contact the Organizer mailbox@hfsc-freistadt.com or check the Austrian Foreign Ministry homepage www.bmaa.gv.at. The participants who need an invitation letter for the Visa or similar, please send us your name, surname, sex, date of birth and Passport Number. 6. ENTRY FEES AND PAYMENT DETAILS The entry fees must be paid within a week after the official entry deadline (21th January 2011). The receipt has to be presented till Monday 28 th February 2011 before 17:00 and will be issued by the organizing committee as soon as the payment through the bank is completed. Late entries are accepted until Monday 28 th February 2011 at 16:00 p.m. with a penalty of 50, 00 per person. Late payments are accepted until Monday 28th February 2011 at 17:00 with a penalty of 50, 00 per person. If the two described situations happen together, the organizing committee will apply max 50, 00 of penalty per person. The delegations that do not pay the entry fees in time are not allowed to take part in the competition. 6.1. ENTRY FEES Competitors: EUR 580.00 + 90.00 (sanction fee) Junior Competitors: EUR 540.00 + 90.00 (sanction fee) Other Delegation Member: EUR 500.00 + 90.00 (sanction fee) Accompanying person: EUR 500.00 Late entry, after 14.01.2011: EUR 50.00 extra charge per person 6.2. COMPETITION RULES Valid competition rules for FAI 1st category events and FIS competition rules. 6.4. DOPING POLICY In accordance with the FAI Sporting Code, General Section. 6.5. PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM A loudspeaker system will be used for announcement throughout the Drop Zone. Radio equipment will be available for communication between the personnel, judges, manifest. 6.6. SAFETY CONDITIONS An AAD is not mandatory. Helmet and License: see point 4.6 Reserve parachute: must be packed in accordance with the technical manual Insurance: see point 4.7 The insurance has to cover medical expenses and repatriation if necessary. Intending competitors must have this medical and a repatriation cover to take part in the event competition. No cover, no jumping! Fullfillment of the above mentioned conditions are under the responsibility of the Head of Delegation, who will confirm this by signing statutory declaration during the registration. 6.7. DROP ZONE FACILITIES Briefing area (outside) Evaluation Centre Parking area within a distance of 50 to 100 metres of the Drop Zone, near the helicopter landing area. Toilets: Moosalm and Ski-Lift Station Medical doctor and emergency services will be situated on the Drop Zone for the entire duration of the competition. Packing Area (outside) 6.8. ENTRY FORMS Please note that the Entry Form must be authorized by NAC. Please note that the registration will be made valid only after payment. The payment receipt will be checked during the registration.
