The Batavia High School Football Boosters held a Bags Tournament in July and raised $2,100. The annual Batavia Youth Baseball Hotdog nights were held in July as well. The many youth that play in this league look forward to this night to receive their team photos, say thanks to their coach and spend time with their team, not on a ball field. On June 9, 2012 our Lodge hosted the Green Ribbon Rally and helped raise $13,567.00 for the Walter Peyton Center and the Jesse Brown Veterans Administration Medical Center. Thanks to the LOOM 682, WOTM 722, the St. Charles Lodge and the Sycamore Lodge and all our great volunteers. These are just a few activities held at the Lodge to support our community. The organizers of all these events wish to thank everyone for their support. Annual Golf Outing The annual golf outing was held on August 18, 2012 at Bliss Creek Golf course. We had a perfect day for golf and many wonderful sponsors support this event. Visit the lodge web page or Facebook to view photos of the wonderful day. Our sponsors were: Pepperidge Farm, Prime-time Plumbing, R.L. Sohol, McCue Builders, Inc, XSport Fitness, Farmers Insurance Mike Arbrizzani, Alarm Detection Systems, Euclid Beverage, Morrison & Associates, Adjustable Forms, A Mirror Image, Schamberger Brothers Inc, Foltos, Ole Towne Pub & Eatery, The Dam Bar & Grill, Alley 64, Settler s Hill, Tanna Farms, Hughes Creek Golf Club, Eastside Café, Schroeder Crane,Markaty Inc, Beebe, Sarge, Twin Oaks Vending, Elgin Beverage Beverages, Superior Beverage Group Ltd, Allstars Card & Memorabilia. September/October 2012 MOOSE TRACKS PAGE 2 Moose Legion is doing Steak Fry s on Saturday nights as often as we can. Note the dates on the calendar. During Monday night Bears games Burger and Wings will be served. Watch the game on a big screen TV in the company of your fellow Moose members. Membership retention is key to any social club. Set a goal to sponsor 2 members a year and your dues are free. Be active we are looking for assistance in hosting the many activities and functions held at our Lodge. Fraternally yours, Mark Anderson REMEMBER: Clean-up after yourself at the lodge. Youth under 21 must leave at 10:00 pm I would like to start out this article by recognizing Joe Serwa for being presented the Past Supreme Governor award at the International convention in Tampa this year. Joe is a member of our lodge and has put a lot of time and energy into our Moose Fraternity. It was a pleasure to be there when a resolution was read by the Director General Bill Airey to present Joe with this top honor. Congratulations Joe on an award well earned. Speaking of conventions, several officers along with myself, will have attended our state convention at the end of August by the time this newsletter comes out. A report on this will be given at our first lodge membership meeting in September. Another event that will have happened will be our annual golf outing which was held on August 18 th. We have several events and functions that will be coming up in the next few months so watch for these in the calendar and on fliers placed around the lodge. We need your participation so please come out for these events. You will not only be helping support your lodge but you will have a good time in doing so. Fraternally, Moose Legion News Meetings 4 th Monday of the month at 6:30 in social quarters September 24, October 22, November 26 Governor Notes Kelly s Korner If you know of a member who is sick, hospitalized or of a death in the family, please contact our Prelate Kevin Callaghan. His email is: coachkpc@hotmail.com Founder s Day is October 27, 2012. This is a busy day for the lodge with many visitors from many states seeing the Lodge Closest to the Heart. Our Halloween parties are also on that day, so any time you can volunteer that day would be helpful. Dinners will now be served in the social quarters on Friday night. As always, remember to clean up after yourself. I had a great time at the annual Golf outing. We raised some money for the Mooseheart children s Christmas party and enjoyed a fine meal cooked by our volunteer chefs. Thanks to everyone who worked and supported this event. Thank you to everyone who has supported our Lodge during the summer. As with everything else around us the Lodge is down in attendance and still has expenses to pay. Kelly Schacherbauer, Administrator Membership News Membership is vital to our lodge. Sign up friends, neighbors and family. The more people who are members, the more people support our twin cities, Mooseheart and Moosehaven. It also brings in new and fresh ideas for functions and a wealth of information and support of our lodge. As you sign members up remember there are many membership promotions currently running, so you have a chance of NEVER PAY YOUR DUES AGAIN! Our thoughts and prayers go to the families that have lost loved ones. Get Well Soon Pool League Returns in September Jack Parker - Governor To all those recovering from an illness or surgery. Visit the Lodge Book Exchange Keep in your thoughts and prayers all of the men and women serving our Country.

The 1 st Canada trip had good fishing with some rainy weather myself and Andy Poulos catching Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Pike! The 2 nd Trip had great weather and many of the same fish were caught by Jim Jansky and his group of 6. In fact the group of 6 caught near 200 fish in one day mid-week! My thanks to Clay and Geri of MacKenzie Lodge for both weeks of great fishing. Jim Jansky traveled to Lake St Clair in late July for some awesome Muskie fishing. His group got 5 muskies and big Pike along with some Smallmouth Bass. Jim reported a 50+incher that was lost half way to the boat. He is returning in October to settle the score and land that monster! Join us at the lodge the second Friday of the month for our meetings. See you on the water!
