ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENTS The Activities Department and Communications department have been working on the following: Senior Center Dept. 19 New group on 1 st Mondays, 6 pm Medically Complex Adult Support group Potlucks: Second Tuesdays at 5 pm with Left, Center, Right and last Sundays 5 pm with music. Tennis Dept. 24 Head Tennis Pro Pete Walrod joins Tony Chatfield, Mariano Gallo, and Don Roberson for Tennis lessons. Please see the CLPOA webpage for contact information. Junior Tennis and Tennis Camps posted on the POA website. Pickleball New shed is being ordered for Pickleball storage, with funds donated by the Pickleball club. Activities Dept. 50 Fiesta Day planning is in full force, here are some updates: o Fiesta Day website: www.canyonlakefiestaday.org. o See below in Communications for access updates to Fiesta Day. Forms for purchasing benches will be going out to clubs once the first three have been installed and evaluated. Provided support to for the successful Surf City all-stars concert. Planning for Taco Tuesday and Maui Monday, Movie nights, and summer POA events are in full swing. Camps: Art Camp is back, and Stem Camps is in the final confirmation stage. Reviewing resumes and applications in preparation for scheduling interviews for the new Activities Generalist position. Provided support for Family Matters new event Club Rush and the Easter Carnival. Assisting members with park reservations- June is booked all weekends, July is almost full. Give us a call if you would like park reservations. Pool Dept. 54 Pool has reopened for 2018. Hours are 7-10 am Lap Swim & Water Aerobics (M-F) & 10-8 pm Open Swim Swim lessons are on sale early this year. Space is limited. Sign-ups are at the Pool office. Non-Residents o Ad running for non-resident memberships in Token Magazine o Digital ad running at Towne Center Plaza o Working with Golf Shop to promote memberships during outside tournaments Board Election Heavy focus on reminding homeowners to send their ballots in. Measures taken include banner at all gates, advertising in CLPOA office, social media promotions and post reminder on CLPOA website homepage. Project Communications Project communications include a combination of press releases, project fact sheets, website updates, email notifications, and social media posts. o Happy Camp Construction Project o Mailbox Replacement Project o Amphitheater CLPOA Website Continuing to make improvements to the website daily. If you see any errors please email communications@canyonlakepoa.com Fiesta Committee notifications: Fiesta Day Changeso Event Access: Due to safety issues identified by CAL FIRE - only emergency vehicles and authorized personnel will be permitted to come into the event area, which begins at Canyon Club Drive. No golf carts or vehicles past Canyon Club Drive and Lighthouse Drive There will be handicap parking spaces at Holiday Harbor and one of the shuttles will be a wheelchair accessible shuttle. The pickup spots will be at Holiday Harbor and Blue Bird Hall. Golf Cart Shuttles will transport to the Kid s Zone area o Parade Route: This year, the parade will begin at Mayflower Drive and Canyon Lake Drive North. The parade will make its way down Canyon Lake Drive North and turn right onto Vacation Drive. New this year, parade announcements will take place at the corner of Vacation Drive and Canyon Lake Drive North as this is the best viewing point of the parade. From Vacation Drive, the parade will make its way to its new end point, Lighthouse Drive. Parade participants can either park or pull over to unload passengers on Lighthouse Drive or continue down Lighthouse Drive make a left Canyon Club Drive and on to Canyon Lake Drive North to exit the parade/event. o Parade Applications: available online and in the POA office.
