Then the student and instructor enter the sea to start catching waves. There are a few breaks throughout the lesson during which fresh fruit and drinks are served. During this break each instructor will provide their student with individualized feedback which the students can use once they return to the water to practice their newly acquired skills. This lesson lasts for approximately three hours. Following the lesson, students are returned to their hotels.

The Nauyaca Waterfall is located about 20 minutes from Dominical, deep into the heart of the tropical jungle. This magnificent waterfall has two sets of falls measuring a combined 61 meters (200ft) tall and large natural pools. Though this site can be rather remote, MASS makes this excursion an easy and fun one. The tour will begin with hotel pick-up and the 25-minute drive to Dominical. From there the group will traverse through scenic back roads and into the hills enjoying grand views of the ocean, mountains and jungle on the road to reach the trail to the waterfall. While many visitors to the Nauyaca have to take a 2-hour trail by foot or horseback, MASS will bring the tour group to their own secret trail that provides quicker and easier access. From there, the group will enjoy a short hike with a beautiful river crossing to reach the waterfall from a difference entrance. The hike will culminate into a wide canyon with lush greenery where guests will be awestruck by the magnificent cascading falls. Once at the Nauyaca there will be the chance to enjoy the view, take pictures, swim in the refreshing natural pool, walk underneath the falls and even climb and jump off of the many cliffs. At this time a picnic snack on the side of the waterfall will be provided. This secluded Isla surf tour provides the opportunity to experience true Costa Rica at its finest. Upon hotel pick-up, surfers will be transported a few miles to the Quepos River. From there, access to this beach break is by a quick river crossing via boat and then a stunning drive down the completely secluded beach, which stretches for miles. At this uninhabited stretch of beach, the guests of MASS will spend a half day surfing excellent waves with no people or distractions in the water. During breaks, surfers can relax and admire the astonishing beauty of the landscape and the absolute peace present at this location all while enjoying a freshly picked coconut from one of the many coconut trees that line the beach. Similar to Dominical, this beach break provides exceptionally consistent waves that break both right and left. Barrels are common here. This break offers an excellent opportunity for intermediate and advanced surfers to have some fun in the waves and perfect their technique as this spot usually enjoys a greater impact from the swells. River and Mangrove Kayaking at Savegre Join MASS for a unique kayaking trip down the epically stunning Savegre River. The journey begins with hotel pick-up and a short 20-minute drive to the bridge over the Savegre River. Once there the tour guide will provide a detailed safety talk which will include explanation and demonstration of the main postures, paddling techniques and commands for the kayak trip. The adventure then begins and throughout the excursion the tour guide will explain a little bit of the history of this magnificent place and will point out various species of birds including kingfishers, hawks, sparrow hawks, egrets and tiger heron. The first half of this adventure will also include the exciting sightings other wildlife and nature such as iguanas, the Jesus lizard, African palms, the elephant ear tree, and some medicinal trees such as guarumo, saragundi and caña brava. A break will follow before arriving at the river mouth where the kayakers will enjoy a delicious snack of tropical fruit, crackers, water and juice and then prepare for the second part of the trip. After the snack time, the kayak tour will continue down the river and into the mangroves, a place of astounding beauty and amazing scenery where one can disconnect their mind and enjoy ultimate peace and tranquility.
