Timing Chip/Bibs We are using the Bib Tag System by Mylaps, the makers of the reliable Championchip equipment that we have used in years past. The Bib Tag system uses a chip and a small battery built into the tag that has been placed on the back of your run number. Below are some important items to know about your race bib: Please place your bib number clearly displayed on the Front of you. Our backup system relies on reading your number, Also if you wear the tag on your back, you will get a slower time because your body is shielding the number from the system. *Do NOT wrinkle or fold your number. Simply pin it on flat as smooth as it is when you get it. *Stay away from the start and finish locations unless you are actually racing. *Do NOT come back across the finish line after you have finished. If you must come back across please remove your bib and tag from your person before doing so. The detection range of the mats is quite large. Please stay away from the black mats before and after the race to avoid being read at times other than your actual start and finish. The timing chips are singleuse they remain on your bib. Do not wear them at another race. Race Bibs You will receive a race bib in your registration packet. This must be pinned to your FRONT and visible to race officials before the race and when you cross the finish line. Safety pins will be available at the registration tables. If you don t have a bib on your front at the start line, you will not be allowed to participate in the race.
Road Closures South Coxe Avenue between Hilliard and Banks will be closed from 4 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, September 23. All other roads are open to traffic. Restrooms Portable toilets will be located near the start/finish area and at Mile 4.1, Mile 6.3, Mile 10, Mile 11 and Mile 12. Bag Drop Runners will be able to place a small bag (small as is no duffle bags, large gym bags and backpacks bring your own) in the Bag Check tent prior to the race. The tent will be located at the entrance to the Funkatorium parking lot and marked with a large, green BAG DROP flag. There will also be safety pins to pin the bottom stub of your race number to your bag. This is important to claim it at the finish. After the race, claim your bag using your race number to do so. Please do not leave items at the start-line as they will be thrown away. Wheeled Vehicles/Pets As you acknowledged in the Liability/Publicity Waiver, wheeled conveyances such as bicycles and scooters are not permitted on the course. Post Race Bottled water and Ultima will be available at the finish line but all other food and drink products will be under the large tent in the parking lot behind Twin Leaf Brewing. The large tent will feature food from Earth Fare. Adjacent to that will be the beer tent with beer provided during the day from our brewing partners Twin Leaf Brewing, Asheville Brewing Company, Burial Beer, Hi Wire Brewing and Catawba Brewing. You must first get a wristband from the table next to the beer tent and should have ID ready to show your age.
